Champions League Final 2013
The stage was set for a magnificent game with both teams wanting to ensure that they would finish the game as winners. There was a tense atmosphere and everyone knew that the players were going to thrive under it. In this great stadium with two great teams anything could happen.
Hello there and welcome to Sky Sports and the coverage of the 2013 Champions League final live from Wembley. I am your host, Alex Heardman and this is your co-host Rafael Di Fangio.
Many people have been excited about this match for a very long time and tonight is the night were two big clubs meet each over for the fight of their lives. Bayern are bookies favourites to win the trophy but Manchester United will want to win on home soil.
Last time these two sides met in the final we all know what happened there. Many people are expecting an even better final but will it match what went on in 1999?
Well that was such an emotional night for both teams and well Bayern Munich will want to make sure they win tonight to get revenge for what happened that night.
Many people are expecting this to be a close game but Rafael which way do you think this game will go?
Well I believe Bayern Munich have the stronger team but Manchester United have the better squad so if it is close late on in the game I feel Untied will have the advantage.
Well it will certainly be close. Well the time has come. All of the pre-match talk can finish as now it is time for the Champions League final live at Wembley. Here are your commentators Moe Lester and Ben Dover
BD: Well I can’t look past Man United. I feel they have the psychological edge over Bayern and that will be the key for them today.
ML: Well it will be close. We will now run you though the teams and for Man United in goal we have De Gea next we have Rafael, Vidic, Evans, Evra. Then a midfield of Carrick and Sandro. In front of them is an attacking 3 which consists of Young, Rooney and Nani and then upfront on his own is Robin Van Persie.
BD: Well it is a top class side and they also have great players on the bench. I think that they just have the edge over Bayern.
ML: Well in goal for Bayern we have Neuer then Lahm, Badstuber, Dante and Alaba. Just in front of the defence is Martinez followed just further up by Schweinsteiger. Then in front of him comes Ribery, Kroos and Robben and then upfront is Mario Gomez.
BD: Well that is a top class side and they want to do well but I just feel United still are the better team.
ML: Well we will all see as Man United get the game underway and the 2013 Champions League final is underway.
5’: Jonny Evans has slid in hard on Mario Gomez and the referee has given a free-kick to Bayern in a dangerous position. Ribery and Robben are stood behind the ball but it looks like Ribery who will take it. He steps up and strikers the ball and it is about 8 inches wide of the post.
8’: Robben is rolling around on the floor here and I suspect it was an off the ball incident with Evra and well our cameras have shown that Evra STAMPED on Robben. Surely that should be a red card if the ref sees it.
11’: Here come Bayern. It’s a cross inside from Alaba and Gomez heads it towards goal but De Gea tips it wide and it goes out for a corner.
23’: Well its Nani with the ball. Ohh it’s a great ball into Van Persie and Dante is there to put the ball behind. That was a great slide tackle there from the Brazilian.
26’: Its Lahm on the ball. Oh he has given it away here to Young who squares the ball to Nani. Nani takes it out wide and floats a ball in but Badstuber is there to clear the danger with a good header.
27’: Martinez plays the ball out wide to Robben who cuts inside and takes a shot from 40 yards but it goes well wide. Manager Pep Guardiola has his head in his hands.
39’: It’s a corner to United. The ball is swung in and it falls to Rafael who takes a shot but it goes straight into the palms of Manuel Neuer.
44’: Carrick plays a ball over the top to Rooney but Alaba intercepts it. Bayern are passing it around but Dante makes a mistake and Rooney is in. Rooney charges towards goal and takes a shot but Neuer makes a great save and sends the ball out for a corner.
45’: Well it is half time here at Wembley and Manchester United have had more chances but will Bayern come out strong for the second half.
What a game so far. Man United have had a lot more chances than Bayern but Neuer has kept Bayern in this game with 2 great saves from the German. There are a lot more twists and turns to come yet and anything could happened.
46’: Bayern Munich kick off and start to pass the ball around to try and be more dominant this second half.
49’: Well Ribery is on a run here and he is still going. He cuts inside and is tripped by Vidic but that is not what the ref thinks and he has booked Ribiery for diving. Well our cameras show that is 100% was not a dive.
57’: Another chance for Robben but he puts the ball high and wide of the goal to provoke many Bayern fans to turn the heads in disbelief.
61’: It’s a substitution for Bayern as Wilfred Bony takes the place of Toni Kroos.
62’: Man United are passing the ball around for fun now and they are trying to open up Bayern. Sandro passed it to Young who knocks it on for Rooney who plays a great ball into Nani and it’s a chance for him to score!!!! Oh no he has missed it. What a chance for United.
65’: It is a corner for Bayern and Robben whips it in and the header from Dante goes just over the bar.
68’: Bayern are beginning to up the tempo here and Bony has the ball. He travels 10 yards with it and passes to Ribery. The Frenchman starts to dribble with the ball and cuts inside. He thinks about his options but decides to shoot and oh its hit the bar!!!
70’: Ribery is coming off and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain replaces him. A good move as it injects pace into the team.
75’: Bayern starting to dominate now and Bony heads a long ball down towards the feet of Lahm who skips past Evra and whips a ball into to Gomez who strikes the ball with an overhead kick which goes inches over the bar.
79’: Man United have found a new life in them and are starting to hit Bayern on the counter. Rafael is storming up the right hand side and whips in a cross towards Rooney but he misses the header and it goes out for a Bayern Munich goal kick.
86’: Rooney has the ball who plays it to Carrick. He takes the ball forward a little bit and finds Valencia in the box who strikes the ball and it cannons of the post. Unlucky there.
90’: There will be 2 minutes of added time.
91’: Man United are dominating now and Bayern are trying to hold on here to take the game to extra time but they need to be careful.
92’: The ball is hit down the right hand side to Valencia who cuts inside but plays the ball to Rafael. He takes the ball forward and whips in a cross towards the head of Rooney who heads in towards goal ohhhhhh GOALLLLLLLLLLLL WAYNE ROONEY IN THE 92ND MINUTE. Rooney wins the Champions League for Manchester United and it is heartbreak for Bayern all over again.
93’: The final whistle goes and Manchester United have won the Champions league again. The managed to score in the last seconds like 1999 to beat Bayern Munich. WHAT A FINALE.
Well heartbreak again for Bayern Munich and the players are crying on the pitch but they have done so well to get this far and they gave us some special moments throughout this tournament. We now go live to manager Pep Guardiola
“Well it is always sad to lose a final. I feel Man United were the better team but we have had some great performances this competition and we deserve it more due to that. I am distraught for the players but we will recover and be stronger than ever.”
Well that is two years in a row that Bayern have come runners up but join us next year to see who will be the Champions of Europe once again. Thank you.

End Of Season Review
Manuel Neuer
This lad is a top quality GK and will be first choice for many years to come. He has made some top saves this year but I am also looking for him to make another step up and try to cut out the silly mistakes.Holger Badstuber
This kid has been my best defender this year. He is my 1st choice and I am now looking at buying a new CB to partner him at the heart of our defence. He has played with 3 different partners this year and he really needs a proper partner that is around the same age and is as good as him.David Alaba
Well David has been a top LB this season. Hit fitness levels are not too good but he managed to get 15 assists and that is a great achievement for a LB. He will be a top top player one day and hopefully he will be my first choice for years to come.Javi Martinez
Javi has been a top player this season. He has played most of the games and has been a consistent star this year. His value has gone up a lot and Barcelona are after him but I will not sell. He has been a pleasure to watch.Frank Ribery
Well Frank has been a top player this year and he has been our best player. I feel he will now start to decline slightly but he still has a few years left in him.Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
Alex has made a great transition to German football. He scored 15 goals and got 9 assists and that is a great achievement. I feel he can become a top player at Bayern and I look forward to many years with him.AWARDS
