Does it work for Mac?
No, and it won't be possible to make it work this time even if you try using Winebottler or similar. GS13 has been rewritten to work by reading data from memory instead of savegame files because of the lock down of savegames in FM13 by Sports Interactive.
However, we exclusively release a special scouting tool for Mac. You should use that.

How to run:
- Extract the downloaded .zip file and run the setup .exe file.
- Follow instructions until installation is finished.
- Run Football Manager 2013 and load your savegame.
- Launch Genie Scout 13 and from main menu click "Load Game".

Donate to get the "g" edition
Genie Scout 13 comes in two editions. One with ads and one with no ads (we will refer to it as the "g" edition). In order to get the "no ads" one you'll have to donate to Eugene first, using the Donate to Eugene page.DELIVERY OF THE 'G' EDITION :
Eugene has automatized the process of distribution for the "g" edition, so people will only have to wait a few minutes before they will get a download link and key this year. But only if they have sent correct contact email, correct Unique ID along with the donation.
Make sure you check your Spam folder too.
If Eugene doesn't have his laptop open at the time of donation, it might take up to 24 hours or longer (until he opens it). In case of problem with your donation, please contact Eugene using the email address you'll see in the message after donation.
Apart from no ads, the "g" edition has 4 extra features:

A statistically based model that will show the probability of reaching theoretical maximum of players ability - Progress Rate :
Shows the predicted speed of player's development, depending on his ambition, determination, professionalism etc - Support for Graphics :
If you have custom facepacks and/or kitpacks added to your FM, it should show on player and team profiles on GS - Top Players Lists :
Automatically generated lists for best players, most promising and top bargains in the world, by position
Please note that during the first run of "g" edition it may take a few minutes to create the graphic packs cache. Next time it will be loaded much faster.
IMPORTANT :
FM Scout (the site) is not involved in the donations towards Eugene, neither has any responsibility delivering the ad-free version to you after donation. This is a process handled solely by Eugene himself.

This is a beta release, so there will probably be some bugs we couldn't find while beta testing the scout.Please find the corresponding version specific topic on our Genie Scout forum and post there! Read this before submitting any bugs!

EXPORTING DATA :
Please understand it is forbidden by the EULA from SI and SEGA to export all the data from the results. You should be able to export only basic information such as player name, club, age, etc... the rest information belong to SI and SEGA.

@pez89: The "g" edition is always ready before public edition. Normally if you close down Genie Scout and re-open it, it should alert you about new version. Or from the main menu you can go to Help & Support > Check for Update and find download link there. Eugene is emailing all "g" owners for new version eventually as well. If you still don't have it, send me a private message.
@joller94: Download the latest version of the public edition from this page. If you still have trouble using this version, you should report your issues in the appropriate forum.
Do you know when the "G" version of Genie scout is getting the beta 8 update? My game isn't prompting me to update and I was just wondering.

To me, FMRTE is a bad piece of software in many ways, which I don't care to explain here. And it's not even free. Genie Scout is free and there's no buying about it. You can choose to support the development of the tool by donating to Eugene (GS author), and in return he rewards you with the special "g" edition.
If you like FMRTE so much, pay for a license & use it. Perhaps your save game will be corrupted soon after using it. We can live without people like you, who can't appreciate our work.
@AnthonyJohnston: New GS13 beta is now available and works with the 13.2 patch. I don't think you can return to an older version once FM is updated. Thanks for the kind words!
@Red till im dead: It's a known issue, just read about known issues above. About sale value, I've already explained: It would take a special algorithm to calculate it, because otherwise there's no way to read it from memory as it seems to be calculated on the fly. I trust Eugene to come up with that in a later version eventually.
@njurci: We have already released a simple financial editor. Perhaps during 2013 we can work on an advanced editor that is actually free.
@Gora123: It was supposed to be ready today, but the author is currently on Xmas holiday. So we'll release it when he returns and prepare a new version, in a week from now or so.

Do you know if a 13.2-version for Genie will be downloadable in the near future? If not, do you know if/how I can "undo" the update, and play with the 13.1.2/13.1.3-patch along with Genie Scout?
