Tottenham secure the Community Shield
New year, new trophies: Spurs have won the Community Shield for the first time since 1991
The season may yet not have officially kicked off, but Spurs have already bagged themselves a win over rivals Chelsea, but more importantly, their first trophy of the season after demolishing Chelsea 4-0 at Wembley.
Speaking to Tottenham's head coach, André was quoted as saying: "
It's a great feeling. Many people do not view it as a prestigious enough trophy, but at the end of the day a trophy is a trophy."
"
I expected a tough game, but the scoreline shows something different. Whether we were just better, or whether Mourinho didn't care? I can not say, but I am proud of the performance my boys put out there and we're raring to go ahead of the new season."
André was very open about ongoing transfers, stating "
We have had interest from several clubs for Vlad [Chiriche?]. Real Madrid, Napoli and A.C Milan are some of the teams that have let us know about their interest, but at the moment we have yet to receive a concrete offer. If we do not receive one, then Vlad will join up with the team at the start of the new season."
"
I can also confirm that we are in contact with a club over Fraser [Forster], however I cannot disclose any information at this moment in time."
