"Vlad would be perfect for Madrid!"
Impressed: Ancelotti has confirmed that he wants to add the Romanian to his squad
Real Madrid are hot on the heels of Defender, Vlad Chiricheș. The Romanian defender, who has been monitored in recent years by the likes of Barcelona, Napoli and A.C Milan, could be in a shock move to the Bernabeu if Carlo Ancelotti - the Los Blancos boss - has anything to do with it.
In a recent press conference, the Italian confirmed that he is wanting to add the Romanian to his squad, seeing him as an ideal replacement to Portuguese defender, Pepe, who is set to leave the Spanish club on a free at the end of the season.
Wanted man: Chiricheș has been monitored by several top, European clubs.
"
We have been monitoring Vlad very closely over the past few months, and he is a player that would be perfect for Madrid. He is the type of defender that does everything so effortlessly, and he would be perfect for Spain. I think Spain would suit him very well."
"
Have we spoken to Tottenham? No, but I'm sure we can do a deal - we have a good relationship with them since the signing of Luka (Modrić) and Gareth (Bale)."
"
I think that maybe a deal for Vlad to come to Spain would be best all around. We would help him develop into a world class player. Tottenham are more of a stepping stone to get you close, but never push you over the line. Real Madrid are known for making players." The Italian added.

The 27 year old Center-back joined Spurs 4 years ago in 2013, but has found his time at Spurs frustrating to say the least.
He has failed to hold down a starting at White Hart Lane, until this season, often finding himself having to jostle between Kaboul, Vertonghen, Caulker, and most recently, NKoulou.
He also seemed destine for the exit after Villas-Boas let the Romanian enter the last year of his contract. However, since the start of the Season, Chiricheș has been in fine form, making him one of Villas-Boas first names on the team sheet. He was also appointed Vice-Captain at the beginning of the season.
The Romanian has made 139 appearances during his time at Spurs, scoring 16 goals.
