Villas-Boas hits back at Ancelotti

Not happy: Villas-Boas has critised Madrid Boss, Ancelotti.

Tottenham's head coach, André Villas-Boas has hit back at Real Madrid's manager, Carlo Ancelotti after the Italian admitted he hopeful of signing Vlad Chiriche? from the North London side.

The Tottenham boss has expressed his disapointment from Carlo, but admits it's no less than he expects from Real Madrid.

"Carlo Ancelotti is wrong if he thinks that we [Tottenham] are going to sell to [Real] Madrid. They are also wrong if they think Chiriche? is for sale - he is not for sale." The Portuguese boss said.

"It is disappointing to hear him speak like that. I honestly expected more from Carlo because we have a lot of respect for each other - I look up to him as a manager."

"It is not normal for people to speak to the press about players that is not theirs. Normally in situations like this it is scrutinised by the Football Association with lots of care and attention. But I must say that with them [Real Madrid] it does not surprise me, sadly (sic). They have done it before with Gareth (Bale) and Luka (Modri?), but this time it is different. We were not able to compete back then, but this has changed now."

The Tottenham coach also went on to criticise Ancelotti for his comments about the club, adding that calling Tottenham Hotspur a 'Stepping stone club' is disrespectful to not just the club and its fans, but to the Premier League and European football.

"I was not impressed with those comments. I think maybe people would call us [Tottenham] that because our goal was to reach the top four. We couldn't compete with Manchester City and Chelsea in terms of spending. We had a wage ceiling of £80,0000 a week because we could not afford such high prices."

History: Tottenham became the first British club to win a European Trophy

"Calling Tottenham Hotspur, with both past and present history is an insult to all those associated with the club. To say that about a club with such a traditional history as Tottenham Hotspur is disrespectful not just to the club and the fans, but with our recent success to the Premier League and European football."

"Since my appointment in 2013, I have picked up 5 trophies - 5 trophies in 5 years. We have also reached the semi-finals of the Champions League and we also look on course to win the Premier League again this season."

Villas-Boas concluded the press conference with a final dig at the Italian, claiming that he should stop focusing on other teams players, instead on his own team

"I think that maybe Carlo should be focusing all of his efforts into Real Madrid instead of trying to tap up other players, after all, Madrid are currently sat 8th in the Spanish League, despite containing players such as Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo."
slick update!!!! that is one of your best ones you have written!
Wow! Man is mad much?! :P

Vertonghen disappointed with Villas-Boas

Not to be: The Belgian looks set to leave Spurs in the current window.

Jan Vertonghen has expressed his disappointment with Tottenham's head coach, André Villas-Boas, after he was placed on the transfer list for the second time in a row.

The Belgian international has found himself at the heart of Tottenham's defence this season, pairing up with Romanian, Vlad Chiriche?, putting in several impressive displays in the process.

Despite some great performances from Vertonghen, he has not done enough to convince the Portuguese boss that he is the right man for the job, with Villas-Boas making his availability known during a recent press conference.

"I can confirm that Vertonghen is for sale. We have had several enquiries from some very big clubs, but none have met our valuation of Jan just yet. Only when it is met can we sell."

With Vertonghen set to enter the last year of his contract in the summer, Villas-Boas will have to act fast if he wants to get full price for the 29 year old.
AVB is cutthroat! :p
Just a little note to say that this save will be put on hold for awhile. I'll try and get the odd update out over the next few weeks, but in all honesty, I don't really have the time to play FM / update my story due to my university interview fast approaching. I'm working really hard on my portfolio to get it complete and up to scratch, and obviously my portfolio and my 'future' takes priority over this story B)
NOO!! :(

I'll miss this, Nick. Best of luck with your portfolio and university, but you best be quick about it and get back to this magnificent story! :)
awwww :( good luck with everything buddy; come back tho! ahah
Good luck mate hope all goes well!
Will miss this but good luck with everything mate!
Good luck with your uni portfolio, and this story is unique! Great dig at Ancelotti, and I think you're just trying to get some cash from Vertonghen before he becomes utter crap :PP
Thanks for all the nice comments, guys. Just like to say that my Uni interview is done, meaning I can finally continue with this story. B)
Hope all went well Nick!
Glad to see this returning :D

Vlad Chiriche?: I love life at Spurs!

Staying put? Vlad is set to remain at Spurs.

Tottenham's Vlad Chiriche? has dropped the biggest hint yet that he is set to remain a Spurs player - at least, until the summer.

The Romanian center back has been publicly courted by Real Madrid boss, Carlo Ancelotti, who sees the tough-tackling defender as an ideal replacement for Portuguese star, Pepe.

Speaking to the London Evening Standard, Vlad said:

"I am really enjoying life in Spurs [sic]. London is a great city, perhaps the best in the world, and I love living here."

"The Tottenham coach [Villas-Boas] is great - he's really gotten the best out of me and he trusts me. It's always nice to be trusted by such a great coach and I want to be able to repay my faith to him."

"We're doing well in the league. We're just taking it one game at a time and we hope that come the end of the season we can lift the Premier League trophy for a second year in a row."

The news will be a relief to Tottenham boss, Villas-Boas, who looked like he was facing a losing battle in keeping one of his star players.
