November 2019
Well, it's been another cracking month here at Newcastle, it literally couldn't get any better. The team is playing very well, and the defense has been rock-solid. When players have stepped down, others have stepped up, and that makes for some unlikely heroes. We're scoring goals for fun, and Tom Ince and Ante Rebic have finally found form. The team is like a well-oiled machine, and at the moment, we don't know how to lose. Sure, are opponents haven't been the best, and yes, all our Premier League games this month have been at home, but who cares? Right now, the Magpies are flying high, and hopefully It can stay that well through December, which looks to be a horrible month in terms of fixture congestion.
Analysis
It was a perfect month for Newcastle, which brings our unbeaten streak up to 10 games in a row. After what I saw in the first month, I didn't think it was possible. We're scoring loads of goals, and people like Ante Rebic and Nicolo Barella have stepped up in the biggest way. Tom Ince, our flop of a captain, also regained form, and he scored 3 goals. The defense conceded a grand total of 1 goal this month, and players like Karim Rekik, Simon Tanev, Javier D'Amico, and Elvis Skoljanic have really stepped up in the back. While former player of the month Maninho took more of a back seat, Ince and Rebic have more than made up for his poor month. The West Brom game was an alright one, but once again, we were solid at the back and Ante Rebic scored an excellent goal to win us the game. Ince was the best player on the pitch against West Ham, scoring 2 very important goals to seal the win. The best game of the month was against Everton. Nicolo Barella, who doesn't head the ball especially well, scored 2 corner goals, and Tom Ince grabbed a goal of his own. We've qualified for the knockout stages on the Europe front, and we can still finish 1st with a win over Milan at home. In the win against Red Star, Johannes Sariola scored a rifle of a free kick to give us the first goal, and then the floodgates opened, with Maninho and Johannes Sariola both scoring. In the crucial game against Trabzonspor, Ante Rebic and Nicolo Barella both bagged a double to lead the club to the knockout stages. Although we're pretty perfect at the moment, December looks horrifying. WE play Chelsea, Arsenal, and Man City consecutively, but I hope to get at least 3 points from those game. You know what they say, to be the best, you have to beat the best.
We're currently 6th in the table, 2 points behind 5th placed Liverpool and 11 points behind 1st place Manchester City.
We've qualified for the knockout stages and we can win the group with a win over Milan at home.
Player of the Month
Our player of the month for November was Johannes Sariola. The Finnish center mid scored a rocket of free kick against Red Star and 4 assists throughout the month. His average rating for this month was 7.98, the highest on the team. Sariola is wanted by Lucaian Favre and Schalke 04, but an offer of anything less than 25 million pounds will be rejected.
