Middlesbrough grab late victory

The Capital One Cup Quarter Final between Manchester United and Middlesbrough was one for the tabloids. Earlier in the week United Skipper David Moyes said to the media that McKenzie and his crew shouldn't even bother showing up. He even went on saying that Dir of Football Eric Cantona and U18s coach David Beckham were traitors to United. There was no response from the Boro camp except for this one little thing. "Moyes needs to shut up and concentrate on the match ahead."-Doug McKenzie. The two managers have been feuding since their partnership ended on bad terms this past summer.

Now on to the match:

Manchester united featured a number of exceptionally quick players but were never able to full effect on a breezy December evening at The Riverside. Over 30,000 would be in attendance. With the match nearing the closing minutes it was Kei Kamara who scored a fine header from point blank range in the 88th minute to give the home team the lead.

It was quite a surprise to see Middlesbrough win this one honestly. The team was getting over played in every shape and form you could think of. Goalkeeper Jason Steele should be given all the credit in the world for his fine performance. Boro are a team currently in 15th place in the EPL and hve played way above expectations this season.

"I am pleased we got the victory, but we won't get ahead of ourselves right now. that's for sure."- Doug McKenzie

The next round will features matches between Arsenal and Middlesbrough and Birmingham City against Aston Villa. The matches will be played on 6 January 2015.

Great result against Man Utd and that PompeyBlue guy seems awesome :P
@ Pompey and Joethequin, thanks, they do seem like sound people :)

December was by far the busiest month so far. Seven matches were played and many different results came out of the month. The start was not what the club wanted, since Boro would drop six points in two matches with losses against West Ham and Southampton. Things would get better as the club would win three straight. Cardiff, Man United and Fulham were all victims to our relentless attacks. The day after Boxing Day we would host Norwich and they came away with a 3-1 victory. The final match was against West Brom resulting in a tie.

RAMSDENS Player of The Month: Kei Kamara

Attacker Kei Kamara is your player of the month. Scoring three goals might not seem player of the month worthy but.......The match against Manchester United was his best performance. The goal in the 88th minute gave us the victory and a chance to play in the semi finals.

Holding it down in 12th

January will be a pretty busy one as well. We get to start out against Fulham in the Third Round of the FA Cup and we also get to face Arsenal in the Capital One Cup Semi Final. In league play we face Tottenham, Everton Swansea and Stoke.

Stay tuned for exciting club news in the next month and also see who our new signings are.

Perry joins Middlesbrough

Manager Doug McKenzie has signed his first player of the 2015 Winter Transfer Window. The former Scotland U-21 international has joined the club for an undisclosed amount. Previously Perry was going to join in the summer but Director of Football Eric Cantona exercised the buy now clause.

Many Boro supporters are pleased about this move but others are quite unsure. "We are interested to see how Perry does in a club such as ours, but don't really have an opinion on this."-Joe Cool. Many Rangers supporters feel this was the right move and it was time for Perry to move.

"I am glad to see Ross join us and h will be a big help to an aging defensive group."-Doug McKenzie

Middlesbrough have had a good season so far and are now in 11th in the table. The team is in the middle of a semi final battle against Arsenal in the Capital One Cup and will face Manchester United in the FA Cup Fourth Round.

Middlesbrough book spot in final
21 January 2015

Middlesbrough will be facing Aston Villa in the Final of the 2014/15 Capital One Cup that will be played at Wembley on March first. The club reached the final after a 1-0 victory in the second leg for an aggregate of 2-1. Boro was not on anyone's radar for this competition.

After the draw in the first leg Middlesbrough were able to capitalize on a few mistakes by Arsenal that would lead to the victory. Striker Emmanuel Ledesma gave Middlesbrough the lead with the most beautiful chips over the keeper. It came from about 22 meters in the 70th minute.

The biggest issue of the match was the officiating. The ref seemed to favor the home side so much that at times it looked like Boro were being targeted for jut being there. In the post match press conference Doug McKenzie would not fully comment on the amount of cards except for this. "It seemed like a blue light special on yellowcards tonight, now I am not going to say anything but...."

For both Boro and Aston Villa this is not their first appearances in the final. Middlesbrough have been apart of three finals (1997, 1998 and 2004), their only victory came in 2004 when they beat Bolton when the final was played in Cardiff. For Aston Villa this is their eighth appearance. Their five victories came in (1961,1975,1977,1995 and 1996).

Stay tuned for more coverage of the 2015 Capital One Cup Final.
