Season Two: Kit Release

It is a wonderful time for Luton Town fans as their first season back in the Football League as fast approaching. With the arrival of every season comes the arrival of new kits for each team. Luton Town is no different on this front, releasing a set of truly fantastic kits for the upcoming season. Adidas are the new kit makers for The Hatters, and they did not fail to impress with three colourful, eye-catching kits. easyJet is the sponsor worn on each kit, as the international plane company retains main kit sponsorship rights for Luton.

The home kit is a traditional orange with dark-blue stripes and cuffs. The collar is round with two coloured circles; the inner being dark-blue, and the outer being white. This kit possesses the perfect amount of traditional value and futuristic thinking for The Hatters who will be donning Adidas' latest master-class at Kenilworth Road this season. This kit will certainly be a big hit amongst the Luton faithful.

The away kit is a big switch from last year's white kit, as the designer from Adidas has opted for a dark-blue base with a mix of white and orange involved. The most predominant feature of this kit are the sleeves and shoulders, where a single white hoop can be seen on each sleeve, and the traditional three stripes are the orange of the home kit.

The third kit brings back memories of the past as the white kit displays blue design and pin-stripes. Luton will certainly be hoping that a blast from the past will inspire them to reach their previous heights.

So, these are the kits for the upcoming season. Which one is your favourite? Comment below!

Season Two: Pre-Season

After an absolutely incredible first season of charge, I had a lot of work to do to strengthen the squad and prepare for our return to the Football League. We knew that this season would not be easy for us, and we needed to have a strong squad to meet our expectations. Here is how our pre-season went:

Friendlies

We had a fairly mixed set of friendlies. We played five games and won three, drew one and lost the other. I chopped and changed my line-up from game to game in order to give everybody a chance to gain some much-needed match fitness. You can see at least three new names amongst the goalscorers list, and you will find out how we signed them soon. Our most impressive result was our 1-1 draw at home to Tottenham. Albeit we scored from a Vertonghen own-goal, we actually dominated the ball and hat Spurs on the backfoot for the majority of the game. If it wasn't for a late piledriver from distance by Paulinho, we would have won the game too. I'm happy with my pre-season, hopefully we can play well in the league season.

Transfers

All-in-all, we released nine players who I felt were not up to League 2 standard. To replace these departures, we brought in nine players too. We spent a total of £67k and one signing was a loan signing. I'm happy with who I've brought in and I hope that they can make the impact which I am looking for.

Kyle Hutton is a signing which I had made before the previous season had ended, but I had to wait until the transfer window opened in order to complete the move. He is a young, Scottish centre midfielder who is quite well-balanced and has a lot of potential in him. At just 23 years of age, he brings with him quite a bit of experience, having played for Rangers for a total of seven years. Hopefully he can fit in well.
Fee: Free Transfer
Value For Money:

Callum Tapping was the only transfer which I made which cost me money. We signed the young Scottish midfielder from Hearts for a very cheap £67k. The former Tottenham academy graduate had been looking for a way out of Scotland after Heart's relegation from the SPL. He can hopefully build a good career for himself at Luton, as at 21 years of age he has a lot of football ahead of him.
Fee: £67,000
Value For Money:

Grant Adam made the switch from Airdrie in Scotland to Luton Town on a free transfer. The 23 year old shot-stopper was a product of the Rangers youth academy and will provide Alan Martin with healthy competition for the spot in goals for us this season. Adam is a great team player and always encourages those around him to do better. He will be a great player for us.
Fee: Free
Value For Money:

Abdul Osman made the switch from Crewe to Luton on a free transfer, following the expiration of his contract. The Ghanian defensive midfielder will provide solid cover for our back four this season and will hopefully keep our midfield intact.
Fee: Free
Value For Money:

Jamie McCombe has a lot of football under his belt, and his switch from Doncaster will help us enormously. He is a very experienced player and will provide us great leadership from the back. Hopefully his lack of pace won't hinder us too badly.
Fee: Free
Value For Money:

James Spencer has come in from Doncaster to replace the departing Jon Shaw. The 22 year old target man has goals in his locker and could become a key player for us this season, if he can find his shooting boots early on.
Fee: Free
Value For Money:

Rory McArdle comes on from Bradford on a free transfer. The Northern Irishman will be a key component in our defence this season as we break in to the Football League. Hopefully he can be a very solid player for us and help keep the ball away from our goal.
Fee: Free
Value For Money:

Euan Smith is a man who needs no introduction! The Hibernian youth striker has joined us on loan this season to fire us to glory. At 20 years of age, he has a lot of football ahead of him, and hopefully it can be with us. He is very fast off the mark, and his finishing and first touch are masterful. I reckon that he can become a prolific goalscorer for us.
Loan Fee: £0 (50% wages)
Value For Money:

Rowan Vine was the last transfer which we made in pre-season. The 31 year old English winger had actually played three seasons at Luton previously when Luton were in the Championship (2004-2007). Hopefully he can recover his prolific form which he had here before, scoring double figures each season.
Fee: Free
Value For Money:

August Fixtures

We open our campaign away to Burton in the league, before facing Birmingham in the Capital One Cup. I am hoping for good results in our first few league games of the season to set us on our way. Hopefully we can create some fantastic memories!

Luton Star Arrested For Rape

Luton Town star Cristian Montaño was today arrested in suspicion of raping a local girl a couple of weeks ago. The police are said to be investigating possible evidence which they have on the Colombian after an anonymous tip-off from a London-based witness. This is not the first time that Cristian Montaño has been involved in a rape case, however, he was not convicted previously, although he could be facing serious charges this time if he is found guilty.

Cristian Montaño's club Luton Town Football Club has released the following statement to their fans:

"We do regret to inform you that our Colombian forward Cristian Montaño is currently in custody over a criminal investigation, where he was alleged to have raped a girl from London. The authorities do not currently have solid evidence to convict Cristian Montaño but he will remain in custody for twenty-four hours.

We, the club, will wait for a verdict from the authorities before making a decision over Montaño's future at the club. Until we have any reason to believe him to be guilty, we will treat him as innocent and support him as best we can. We would also like to ask you to do the same, as it is a human right that all humans are innocent until proven guilty.

We will release another statement when we find out more on this situation. Thank you for supporting us, please do not judge Cristian until a definite verdict has been made."
