Yeah, his wages are quite extensive but I have no idea why Sporting released him.

Season Seven: Part Two

We review the season from January onwards
Christmas has passed and 2020 is here! With the eve of a new decade approaching, we set out to start it well after finishing the 2010's on a pretty poor note - most notably a humbling at the hands of Vitoria Guimarães.
Results

Well, what a final few months! We were doing so so well in Europe, overcoming Basel in the first knockout round before being hammered at the hands of Hamburg (dat alliteration). Meanwhile it was smooth travelling in the league, wins here and there with the added draw and loss.
The home game against Sporting CP, which ended in a 1-1 stalemate, brought 32,000 people to the stadium - a club record. The ticket prices from playing in the Estádio Nacional have really boosted this club along with the Europa League money and hopefully we can upgrade facilities later.
The competition of our year, however, was the Taça de Portugal! We've been slowly but surely progressing and found ourselves locked in a two-legged semi final clash with Maritímo. The minimum expectation from chairman André Silva was that we reached the 6th Round so semi final is really a bonus.
We were also lucky to have had some easy draws whilst some giant killings have taken place alongside our matches. The only giant not be knocked out was Benfica, and that was who we would play in our match!
The final will be updated exclusively shortly! Also, apologies for the continous skin changes, I really didn't realise I was chopping and changing so much...
League Table

THIRD PLACE!!! If only Porto and Benfica had done well in Europe... then we would've been racking in the television money of Champions League football! Unfortunately we're still stuck in Europe's second grade continental competition but I'm not complaining, the money is awesome! This time it's straight into the group stage's however, so we can have a headstart this time!
Also...
I mentioned the money we get and how awesome it is, well, it's doing good things. We have just announced that we'll be spending £1.6m to upgrade our youth facilities and hopefully produce some cracking prospects along the way!
another incredible season! 3rd is a great finish, but as Griffo mentioned, now it will be a challenge to break the FC Porto-Benfica monopoly
Thanks guys, those two will be extremely hard to topple, it may take a couple of years

Taça de Portugal Final: Oriental vs Benfica

Oriental and SL Benfica take centre stage in the final
Welcome to the Estádio Nacional, Lisbon, where two Lisbon-based clubs will meet in what is set to be an enthralling Taça de Portugal final. Oriental will be taking on neighbours SL Benfica in a mouthwatering clash in a true case of David and Goliath. Oriental, the cup's surprise package, will be throwing everything they can at their opposition, who go into the clash as heavy favourites!
Road To The Final

Benfica's road to the final started off at minnows Ribeirão. The tiny team from Madeira couldn't even make it a contest and the giants won it thoroughly, 8-0. After that their next challenge would be yo-yo club Aves, and again they won comfortably, this time by a 4-2 scoreline. Next was their biggest opposition yet in the shape of Nacional, but they easily brushed aside their Primeira League counterparts 3-0. In the Sixth Round they hosted eternal rivals Sporting, where it took an extra time winner to get a 3-2 win. In the semi finals they were awaited by Paços de Ferreira, who they swept aside 4-1, before meeting Oriental in the final.

Oriental began their road to the final at Tourizense, whom they beat 1-0 despite their dominance of the match. After that they were handed another easy tie in Dragões Sandinenses, and their non-league opponents were well beaten 5-0. Estoril were their Fifth Round opposition and they edged a tight affair 3-2. Penniless U.D Lieiria were another hurdle in the road to the final, but they were beaten comfortable 2-0. The two-legged semi final with Marítimo looked set to be the toughest fixture of all, but an amazing display saw them 4-0 up away from home. A 2-0 win in the next leg meant they advanced to the finals on the back of a 6-0 aggregate annihilation.
Pundits' Views
Bruno Lima: "This final is set to be an epic - we've got a classic case of underdog and giant in the final and they're both big teams at the same time. Oriental will have that hunger to prove themselves but I think Benfica are just too good a side - 3-1 Benfica."Henrique Pinho: "As Bruno touched on before we've got an Oriental side who are underdogs and have a point to prove. But we've also got a side in Benfica who have won this competition before and know what it takes in these situations. Still, I think Oriental can cause a shock: 2-1 Oriental."
Pregame

BL: Oriental have headed into the match with a 4-2-2-2, two defensive midfielders in front of a flat back four while they use the wingers as outlets for attacking. Pedro Monteiro and Sergio Liparoti both start upfront, manager Vitor Martins looking like he's going to play fast counter attacking football.
HP: Meanwhile Benfica are going with the 4-2-3-1 which André Villas-Boas likes so much. They play nice, passing football and are going to set out and control this match from the off. They've got a lot of fire power up front so Aurelio and Reis are going to be busy this match.
First Half

2' Analysis - No side has taken any real advantage early on. Pedro Monteiro nearly was in on goal for Oriental but he was dispossessed and the ball shot up the other end, however Benfica couldn't muster a chance.
4' Benfica Chance - Benfica win the first corner of the game and Valdívia swings it in only for Venâncio to head the ball clear off the back post. Ongenda recycles possession but again Venâncio is there to head the ball clear from danger.
18' Analysis - Nearly 20 minutes in and we still haven't got a clear dominator in the game yet. Benfica look the more dangerous and are controlling the ball marginally more, but Oriental look strong on their own attack. Abdou Diallo is putting in a very impressive display.

31' Benfica Chance - Valdívia has a free kick near the touchline on the left wing. He swings it in to the back post straight to Diallooooo!!! Abrantes saves... and he saves AGAIN!!! Outstanding reflexes from the Oriental stopper, he's kept them level that's for sure!

52' Benfica Chance - Valdívia drops deep to collect the ball, and he passes back to Diallo, who goes into João Afonso. His bullet pass is straight to the feet of Ongenda... he plays through Pizzi....... but he drags his shot wide! Good flowing move from Benfica.

80' Analysis - Ten minutes remain and you feel Oriental are going to start to press forward a little bit. Lourenço Costa (

86' BENFICA GOAL - Ghoulam launches a long throw into the box... Vasco nods it on and Bruno Fernandes is there to tap it in virtually on the goalline! Benfica now have effectively sealed the cup win and their fans know it, they're partying already!
Full Time
Post-Match
Now that the match is finished we'll cross to the press conference room in the Estádio Nacional, where André Villas-Boas and Vitor Martins will both face the media in the aftermath of the final.André Villas Boas: "It's a great feeling to have won the cup. We've played some great football for the duration of the tournament and we came to play today. The boys can be proud of their efforts because we dug deep to get that win, and they're enjoying it now."
Vitor Martins: "It's hard to take. We've done so well to get here and then we've fallen at the last hurdle. Despite this, I can see a lot of positives from our cup run. It didn't finish on a high note but we've proven how good a team we are on a big stage and this is an experience all of the boys can soak up for the future."
Aw man, unlucky loss Walt, however;

dis update is sexy
Josh, Aaron, Feliks Thank you guys, it was tough to lose so late but the fact that we pushed a side like Benfica is a positive in itself!
Beautiful update, but a not so beautiful game. It is always tough to lose a final, but I know you'll bounce back next year and prove to Benfica you are the better team
