Jose Mourinho fires shot at Fabio Cannavaro ahead of Champions League clash

Reporter : Jose we all know you and Fabio dont really see eye to eye but whats your thoughts on the man
Jose Mourinho“I think he is one of these people who is a voyeur. He likes to watch other people. There are some guys who, when they are at home, have a big telescope to see what happens in other families. He speaks, speaks, speaks about Chelsea, when in reality should be speaking only about Anderlecht, hes obsessed with me and my team”.

Reporter : Fabio Cannavaro has said the hype surrounding your success is kind of exaggerated and that your history as a manager means nothing in this upcoming tie
Jose Mourinho : “My history as a manager cannot be compared with Fabio Cannavaro's history. He has one trophy and I have a lot of them…”

Reporter : Anderlecht have found some decent form this last month in the Jupiler League, will that make any difference leading into this match?
Jose Mourinho : "im sure Cannavaros men will be high on confidence but there is a big difference in playing Westerlo than there is Chelsea, they may be the big fish in Belgium but we are the big fish around here"

Reporter : "but surely you must be feeling some kind of pressure considering you are overwhelming favourites against the Anderlecht
Jose Mourinho “Pressure? There is no pressure. Bird Flu is pressure.(The Press Laugh) No, you laugh, but I am being serious. I am more worried about the swan then I am about football.”

Reporter : thanks for your time Jose but we have one more question involving Chelsea fc, there has been reports that Mr Abramovich has the last decision on transfers and likes to involve himself in training, what have you got to say about this
Jose Mourinho : think of it like this, “If Roman Abramovich helped me out in training we would be bottom of the league and if I had to work in his world of big business, we would be bankrupt!”
Very good update!
The tension is getting higher :D
Good update!
Love Mourinho, and another great update! Loving the tension between teams :)
Hey mate. Great story! gl in this season!

Matchday 6

Chelsea and Anderlecht met in matchday 6 of the Champions League with nothing to play for as both sides had already secured progression to the next round. this was more of a battle between Jose Mourinho and Fabio Cannavaro

Chelsea never really looked like losing the match as they were sitting comfortably with a 2-0 lead at the break through goals by Diego Costa and Oscar, funny enough those two players would go onto score another goal each in the second half as Chelsea ran out 4-0 winners, Anderlecht only mustered 3 shots on goal throughout the 90 and looked to have no interest in the match whatsoever knowing they had already qualified

Chelsea finished top of the group with maximum points as they hardly broke a sweat while Andelecht finished with 10 points in the group meaning that was there highest ever point tally in the groupstages. CSKA Moscow will move into the Europa League knockout draw while Maccabi Haifa say goodbye to Europe for one more year

Champions League round of 16 draw

Suprise packets Anderlecht, Fiorentina and Celtic face have been not been welcomed very nicely to the knockout round with trips to Juventus, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid respectively and all are tipped to struggle to get anything out of both legs, but will be a good learning curve. moneybags Manchester City and AS Monaco will battle it out in a clash dubbed "clash of the richkids"
undoubtedly though the match of the round would have to be Borussia Dortmund v Barcelona in what should be a very exciting two legs
tough loss against Chelsea bud and just as tough game coming up good luck.
Good Luck and nice results at start of season...
Congratulations on qualification, but it will be hard to Juve!
Good luck
Good luck against Juve!

Anderlecht tie up deal for Dutch number one Jasper Cillessen

  • Dutch goalkeeper arrives from Ajax for $7,000,000
  • Cillessen is Fabio Cannavaros first signing of January transfer window

  • The January transfer window has only been open for two days but Anderlecht have wasted no time in strengthening the squad with the signing of Dutch number one goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen, Cillessen arrives with a massive reputation around Holland and has been dubbed the new Edwin Van Der Sar, hes also known for being great in one on one situations.

Anderlecht were suprised they managed to sign the highly rated goalkeeper for only $7,000,000 as they believe he is worth alot more than that due to his tender and the potential he is showing

Holland goalkeeper, Jasper Cillessen statd that hes very happy to make the jump to a bigger club, for several months before his move to Anderlecht he did admit to a ‘come and get me’ plea to Anderlecht, the former Ajax star feels the Belgian Champions is the perfect place to enhance his skills as a goalkeeper and hopes to be playing first team football sooner rather than later
Very good goalie, but not great when you concede penalties ;)
    Great signing!
    Very good signing mate!
