What are the boards expectations?
What a save!

Hope yo achieve more.
Quality draw looks pretty easy :P you will need all the luck you can get.

Neal Maupay and Siem De Jong gave Newcastle United a 2-0 win over Aston Villa as Paul Lambert's poor St. James' Park record continued.

Novocastrian resilience and equally typical weather of the region combined to continue Paul lambert's hoodoo at St. James' Park, as Newcastle defeated Aston VIlla thanks to goals from Neal Maupay and Siem De Jong.

Wind and rain made for a tricky game for both sides, and the Villa boss continued his record of never having won away at Newcastle. The hosts took the lead early on, they continued to dominate throughout the match and found the winner early into the second half

The conditions ensured both sides got off to a slow start in a dull first half, with neither team able to get into their passing groove. Newcastle had initially seemed to start with a direct gameplan, naming a team in a 4-1-2-2-1 shape with a rare start for Haris Vukcic, and although it resulted in Newcastle seeing a majority of the ball, they were unable to do too much with it.

A Newcastle set-piece gave the hosts another opportunity to create a chance, and Cabella took that chance by curling in an excellent delivery, which Maupay got onto the end of, escaping around the back of a static Ron Vlaar to head past Guzan.

The goal failed to spur Aston Villa into action and Newcastle continued to be the better of the two sides. Some fine play later on saw Hatem Ben Arfa released with a clear one-on-one chance, but a desperate intervention from Okore saw Villa keep themselves in the game.

With time running out for Lambert's men, Sissoko and Kurzawa looked to play it safe down the left. The two managed to find a way through, the Frenchman cutting back to find De Jong, who produced a fine finish to secure the result for the hosts.

Remaining Fixtures

We kicked off the season against newly promoted Huddersfield Town, Kurzawa gave us the lead midway through the first half before the visitors replied on the stroke of halftime. Despite dominating for most of the second half we had to wait til the 88th minute for a winner as Ben Arfa was in the right place at the right time to make it 2-1, Stoke City were next and a trip to the Britannia. This was truly a match to forget at the rain made it virtually impossible to play our natural possession game and we struggled to create any real clear cut chances. the match ending in a bore draw

Barclays Premier League table

After 3 games of the Barclays Premier League season we currently sit first on 7 points, closely followed by newly promoted Nottingham Forest and Everton, who are tipped to have a very strong season, though 7 points is a good return of three matches, i beleive it could have easily been nine points. Nonetheless a great start

Upcoming Fixtures

September will see us play 5 matches, three in the Premier League and two cup games. First up a home match against moneybags Manchester City, who we have a fair decent record against, PSG are up second and our first Champions League match which will take place at the Parc De Princes.
we then face Arsenal at the Emirates before traveling to the Madejski to face Reading in the Capital Once Cup, it all finishes with a trip to Upton Park to face West Ham

Good solid start to the season, but a tough month ahead at the start. Good luck
Nice update and a good month other than the Stoke game. Doing very well in the league but a tough month ahead, good luck :)
Good start some hard fixtures coming up but goodluck
MAUPAY!!!

Newcastle United touch down in Paris for Champions League clash at the Parc Des Princes

Newcastle will take on PSG in the matchday 1 on Tuesday and arrived in Paris on Monday to begin their preparations

Newcastle's players have arrived at Paris Airport ahead of their Champions League tie at the Parc Des Princes on Tuesday.
The English club will take on PSG in one of the most-eagerly awaited clashes of the competition to date.

And as Laurent Blanc put his side through their paces this afternoon, their opponents touched down in the Capital to begin their preparations.

Unfortunately for PSG fans, there was no problem with Ben Arfa's luggage, as the frenchman arrived alongside David Ginola.
They were shortly followed by team-mates Fabricio Coloccini and Remy Cabella,

Meanwhile, Newcastle midfielder Moussa Sissoko has had a dig at PSG, claiming they will never be as good as the big boys of Europe.
The Frenchman said: "PSG have good players – but they will never be Barcelona or Bayern Munich.

"They are a modern football club built on big transfer fees – but at Barcelona and Bayern there is a history and class that dates back a long way."
Good luck man!
Good Luck French vs French haha

PSG cruise to 2-0 win over lacklustre Newcastle United

Paris Saint-Germain stroll to 2-0 win in Matchday 1 of the UEFA Champions League against Newcastle United.

It was a comfortable victory for the Parisian giants, who were rewarded for a dominant display with a goal in each half from Ibrahimovic and Cavani, as David Ginola lost his first match in European competition

Big-money signing Thiago Silva captained the side as PSG gave a debut to Joel Matip at the heart of the PSG defence in the absence of Marquinhos.

Neal Maupay was handed his Champions League debut for Newcastle United.

PSG made a bright start and Cavani, who has been linked with Liverpool, had a chance to open the scoring just three minutes in, only to see his shot deflected over the crossbar.

There was concern for PSG when Ibrahimovic required treatment after seemingly taking a knock to his side after only six minutes and the prolific striker was eventually replaced by late on

Cabella spurned a chance to give Newcastle a shock lead when he rose to head wide of the far post and he was made to pay when Cavani put PSG in front in the 9th minute.

Azpilicueta was the architect, swinging over an inviting cross from the right and an unmarked Cavani clinically volleyed home from six yards out.

Ibrahimovic then fired wildly over the bar seven minutes before the break as PSG pushed for a second goal.

Lucas Digne replaced Joel Matip at the break and the home side picked up where they left off when Newcastle United were almost caught out by a quick-free kick, which allowed Lucas to race clear but fail to apply the finish as he fired wide of the near post.

David Ginola's side failed to heed the warning, though, as they were again caught cold when David Luiz superbly picked out Ibrahimov with a quick free-kick.

Cavani still had plenty to do as he took an excellent touch to control the ball, but he rifled home with his right foot as he was falling to the turf to seal PSG's win with 15 minutes remaining

The Swedish forward looked like he had a point to prove as he tried his luck with a 25-yard free-kick, but two goals were more than enough for PSG.
