Wow those are two MAJOR signings! Splashing the cash!

Today Dunlop has announced that once each month, he will sit down with one lucky journalist and record an episode of "Dunlop Talks". The show will feature Dunlop talking about many different aspects of football, including - the difference's in todays game, how management is different, other results from around the world and how his own club Wolfsburg are going.

For the first episode, Dunlop has agreed to talk about the realistic expectations of his club - Wolfsburg.

Dunlop Talks Realism - Wolfsburg 2014/15

So Alexander, after a very successful season in Germany last year, finishing in 3rd and surprising many. What do you see Wolfsburg doing this year?

Many people labelled last year as 'lucky', but it was much more than that, last season was Wolfsburg stamping their foot down, particularly towards the areas of Dortmund and Bayern; saying that Wolfsburg is here and that they won't be on their own at the top. The players carry the same confidence and you can expect to even better performances than last year, especially with our new signings, who are all a massive boost to the team.

I think people were more surprised about the performance of your club in Europe. Can you see your side coming any closer to European silverwear this season?

Well, we played very well in the Europa League last year. Despite a few poor first leg performances, we did very well to win it. Despite the fact that winning it this year will be harder as the step up in the competition is greater, I would never rule us out of an upset. I think you must also be forgetting the game that we will play against Arsenal, the winner of Champions League vs Winner of Europa League, and despite fact that some managers don’t see it as important. I believe that they are important so you can keep piling up the silverwear.

How long do you see yourself at Wolfsburg for?

Wolfsburg are a club I hold dear to my heart, they were great to play against, and now they are a great club to work for. The players are incredible the fans are some of the best in the league and after signing that long term contract, I can see myself at the club for years to come.

Can we expect any more signings from you?

As you may know we have been searching for a RB for sometime now, we will preferably looking for one that has the potential to be a future star, as our current first team role is filled by Träsch who has been in great knick all season. But we have got our scouts in different continents around the world waiting to tell me about some new prospects. So hopefully before the end of the window we can pick one up.

Thank you very much for talking Mr, Dunlop and I will see you again next month for more.

Thank you, I will see you then. Good-bye.
Hopefully you can get a RB

Wolfsburg Youngsters Show Experience in Fair Result

WOLFSBURG VS DUSSELDORF
2-2
Bas Dost, Angelo Henriquez
Alexandre Lacazette

DUNLOPS NOTES

A good start to the friendlies, was not that disappointed with the draw. Good goals from Dost and Henriquez, well fed by Lacazette. We will be looking to continue this throughout out the friendlies.

Wolfsburg Play out Draw with Atletico

WOLFSBURG VS ATLETICO
2-2
Vierinhina, David Villa (OG)

DUNLOPS NOTES

It was a very tough game, as we did not learn our opposition well enough. It was good to see Vierinha score, good pressure on Villa. Need to keep working with young CB, and new players to the team so they can learn the formation and tactics.

Wolfsburg Front Three Get Up to Old Tricks

WOLFSBURG VS NAPOLI
3-1
Memphis Depay, Alexandre Lacazette, Sami Khedira
Luiz Gustavo

DUNLOPS NOTES

A very good ending to the pre-season, a massive confidence booster before the season. Very good goals from the strikers, and a superb long shot from Khedira.

PLAYER OF THE FRIENDLIES
The vice-captain had a very solid pre-season, despite not registering any goals, he was a rock in the midfield and his passing was always precision. They will be hoping he carries this into the season.

August Review

Duisburg VS Wolfsburg l German Cup First Round

Wolfsburg Line Up
Horn, Rodriguez, Knoche, Miranda, Träsch, Khedira, Gustavo (c), De Bruyne, Lacazette, Depay, Henriquez

Subs Vitinho -> De Bruyne (57) Ginter -> Knoche (57)

2-4
Alexandre Lacazette (26,34), Angelo Henriquez (56), Memphis Depay (78)
Alexandre Lacazette

Dunlop's Notes
First ever win in the German Cup. Front three were yet again very effective, midfield fed great balls through and really exposed the wings. Need to tell Matthias Ginter and Robin Knoche that they need to stop rushing up, they are creating holes and that cost us both of the opposition goals. But still a very positive start to the season and hopefully we can mount a cup run.

Wolfsburg VS Frankfurt - Bundesliga

Wolfsburg Line Up
Horn, Rodriguez, Knoche, Ginter, Träsch, Luiz Gustavo, Blind, Khedira, De Bruyne, Lacazette, Depay

Subs Khedira -> Blind (63) Dost -> Lacazette (69)

2-0
Christian Träsch (18), Memphis Depay (40)
Ricardo Rodriguez

Dunlop's Notes
A good win to start the Bundesliga. I was quite nervous heading into this fixture, but after Träsch scored that terrific goal, I never lost faith in the boys. It was important that Ginter and Knoche both stayed back this game, which was what I told them after their last performance, and I was really happy when they did do that. Depay also showed his great speed, and we will keep working on that with him so he can continue to grow stronger on the ball as well. All in all it was a solid start to the Bundesliga, and hopefully we can keep getting results like this.

Christian Träsch after a poor refereeing decisions in Wolfsburg's win

Werder Bremen vs Wolfsburg - Bundesliga

Wolfsburg Line Up
Horn, Rodriguez, Miranda, Blind, Naldo (c), Träsch, Gustavo, Khedira, De Bruyne, Vitinho, Henriquez

SubsLacazette -> Vitinho (67) Depay -> Henriquez (69) Ginter -> Blind (84)

3-1
De Bruyne (26), Henriquez (pen 36), Lacazette (70)
Kevin De Bruyne

Dunlop's Notes
Another solid start and a SPECTACULAR free-kick from Kevin De Bruyne, maybe a contract bonus coming up after that, also the assist for Lacazette's goal. I was very happy with how Vitinho performed, showing some great speed. Naldo also showed improvement after coming back from injury. This is a good win and puts us on top of the league, which may not sounds like much, but this is an easy team to encourage.

Wolfsburg Re-Sign De Bruyne to 5 Year Deal

Wolfsburg have re-signed one of the worlds hottest prospects, Belgium's Kevin De Bruyne to a 5 year £100K per week. The youngster is in great form at the moment, having scored a delicious free-kick in the last game. The 22-year old has told press that he is loving Wolfsburg and hopes to spend the foreseeable future at the club.

De Bruyne in Action

Wolfsburg VS Augsburg - Bundesliga

Wolfsburg Line Up
Horn, Rodriguez, Miranda, Naldo (c), Träsch, Khedira, Gustavo, De Bruyne, Lacazette, Depay, Henriquez

SubsOlic -> Depay (64), Arteta -> Gustavo (71)

2-0
Lacazette (12), Henriquez (84)
Angelo Henriquez

Dunlop's Notes
We continue our run of wins in the League. A good start through Lacazette and some great defense until Angelo put the game away. Need to keep working on defending set pieces, as we nearly conceded numerous times. Good goal-keeping from Horn made sure that we would hold onto the three points.

Leverkusen vs Wolfsburg - Bundesliga

Wolfsburg Line Up
Horn, Rodriguez, Miranda, Knoche, Naldo, Träsch, Arteta, Khedira, Vitinho, Depay, Henriquez

SubsBlind -> Miranda (58) Lacazette -> Henriquez (61)

1-1
Depay (19)
Christian Träsch

Dunlop's Notes
A tough, gritty performance against an improving Leverkusen side. We started off conceding off of another set-piece which was annoying, but we fought back and scored a nice across the face of goal, and finished with a nice header from Depay. But we are going to keep improving our heading, particularly with our young, inexperienced CB's. Knoche will also need to work on playing as a BPD, as he is moving too far forward at the moment.

Champions League Group Stage Draw

DUNLOP'S THOUGHTS

I think that this is going to be a very tough draw for us. We have played Atletico before, but that was just a friendly and they don’t really show much. So we are going to need to be at our best. Tottenham are a different story, they are a team that relies on momentum, and that is what let them down in the EUROPA league last season, but they are a class side so hopefully we can exploit their weaknesses and get results. I can say that I had never heard of Viktoira before, hopefully we can get the six points against them though.

Pre-Match Analysis

These two sides have not faced each other all that often, but both will be looking to come out of it with a European trophy. Wolfsburg are in great form so far this season, having not lost since last season; they will be looking to carry that into this game. They do not have many selection worries, but because of too many yellow cards in last years EUROPA league, Daley Blind will be missing out on this one. Arsenal have played a couple games so far in the league, but are not faring too well.

Wolfsburg Line Up
Horn, Rodriguez, Naldo (c), Miranda, Träsch, Khedira, Gustavo, De Bruyne, Lacazette, Depay, Henriquez

Arsenal Line Up
(4-2-3-1)Szczesny, Monreal, Vermaelen (c), Koscienly, Richards, Ramsey, Henderson, Sanchez, Wilshere, Ozil, Giroud

Match Commentary

GOALS

Welcome to The EUFA cup. This cup is played between the winners of the Champions League, Arsenal and the winners of the Europa league, German side Wolfsburg.

(53 mins) Alexandre Lacazette is free in the penalty area, he powers a header on goal. ALEXANDRE LACAZETTE SCORES FOR WOLFSBURG. A powerful header from the Frenchman has put the EUROPA league champions 1-0 up against the Champions league holders. Great work from Wolfsburg, Arsenal are going to have to play well to win from here.

(55 mins) Lacazette receives a great flick from Khedira, Lacazette tries a LONG SHOT! Ohh, what a save from Szczesny, diving to his left, he throws the ball STRAIGHT TO MEMPHIS DEPAY, who takes him ON ONE ON ONE and he HAS SCORED! WOLFSBURG SCORE THEIR SECOND INSIDE 3 MINUTES OF THE FIRST! A terrible mistake from Arsenal, and Wolfsburg must hold on from here.

(68 mins) Timo Horn rushes off his line to clear the ball, and does straight to half-way. Ramsey plays Sanchez through, who gives the ball to OXLADE-CHAMBERLAIN WHO SCORES AN INCREDIBLE CHIP! That was totally against the run of play, that has got Arsenal back into the game.

(90+3) Horn clears it long, THE REF BLOWS THE WHISTLE! WOLFSBURG WIN! Well done to Dunlop and his boys, a terrific win over Arsenal. Dunlop is again adding to the Wolfsburg trophy cabinet, and the FANS ARE SCREAMING HIS NAME.

Post-match Reaction

They were not the favourites, but red-hot side Wolfsburg have won yet another game, beating favourites Arsenal. The man of the match was the Wolfsburg vice-captain Luiz Gustavo, who was on fire, regularly testing the keeper and playing some great balls, he also got back to play some great defense.

2-1
Lacazette (53), Depay (55)
Luiz Gustavo

The Frenchman fought off his two fellow strikers in Henriquez and Depay to win this award. The youngster scored 5 goals this month, and has been in great form in all areas of his game. Dunlop has spoken openly about his enjoyment of Lacazette's game and looks forward to seeing him continuing.

September Review

Wolfsburg VS Dortmund

Wolfsburg Line Up
Horn, Rodriguez, Naldo (c), Miranda, Träsch, Gustavo, Khedira, De Bruyne, Henriquez, Lacazette, Jovetic

SubsGinter -> Miranda (61) Blind -> Khedira (63) Depay -> Henriquez (69)

2-0
Gustavo (49)
Schmelzer (58)
De Bruyne (64)
Christian Träsch

Dunlop's Notes
A terrific win against Dortmund, as we slowly start to creep up on them and Bayern as the top teams. AN INCREDIBLE finish from Gustavo, who was the most shocked out of everyone when he scored it. Hopefully we can take this incredible start to the season into the champions league now.

Wolfsburg VS Viktoria Plzen

Wolfsburg Line Up
Benaglio, Rodriguez, Naldo (c), Blind, Miranda, Träsch, Gustavo, Khedira, De Bruyne, Depay, Jovetic

Subs Ginter -> Gustavo (71) Lacazette -> Depay (72) Henriquez -> De Bruyne (72)

3-0
Naldo (12), Träsch (24), Lacazette (73)
Naldo

Dunlop's Notes
A terrific way to start the Champions League, and a terrific start for Captain Naldo, scoring and getting MOTM. It was well done to pick up all the points from Viktoria and now we will be looking to get points against Atletico and Tottenham. It was good to see Jovetic get an assist and show more chances on goal, not too much longer till he starts scoring I am sure.

Gladbach VS Wolfsburg

Wolfsburg Line Up
Horn, Rodriguez, Naldo, Miranda, Träsch, Blind, Gustavo, De Bruyne, Lacazette, Jovetic, Depay

Subs Ginter -> Naldo (60), Vitinho -> De Bruyne (61) Khedira -> Blind (78)

3-1
Jovetic (43), Depay (50,66)
Memphis Depay

Dunlop's Notes
The run is now 12 games and 9 professional ones; and we just keep getting better. Another solid performance and JOVETIC SCORED! Now he only needs to keep doing that so I am sure that purchasing him would be the right move for the club. Depay was also outstanding today, two more goals for the youngster.

AUE VS Wolfsburg l German Cup Second Round

Wolfsburg Line Up
Horn, Rodriguez, Naldo (c), Miranda, Träsch, Khedira, Bergamo, De Bruyne, Depay, Henriquez, Jovetic

Subs Ginter -> Träsch (58) Vitinho -> De Bruyne (68) Lacazette -> Henriquez (71)

2-0
De Bruyne (12), Depay (51)
Kevin De Bruyne

Dunlop's Notes
Another win in the German Cup, putting us up another round, hopefully we can get the luck of the draw again to keep us going. It was good to see De Bruyne score another free-kick and then assist Depay for another one. Depay just keeps on scoring.

Wolfsburg VS Karlsruhe

Wolfsburg Line Up
Horn, Rodriguez, Knoche, Naldo (c), Träsch, Blind, Gustavo, De Bruyne, Henriquez, Lacazette, Jovetic

Subs Depay -> Jovetic (57) Ginter -> Naldo (71) De Bruyne -> Vitinho (78)

2-0
Blind (11), Lacazette (84)
Kevin De Bruyne

Dunlop's Notes
Another win, and we stay on top of the table. A very solid performance, as we start to solidify our position as the best defensive side in the league. A great goal from Blind, who is starting to make a name of himself as a scorer of great goals, and also well done from Lacazette to finish off the game. Now to travel to England and face Tottenham.

Unbeatable Wolfsburg Set New Club Record

Dunlop has today achieved another goal that he set at the start of his career, and that was to break Wolfsburg records, and he has done that by breaking the record for most games with losing. Which was 14 games before Dunlop's sides 2-0 win yesterday. The record is now 15. The Wolfsburg board have expressed their pleasure in this record saying that "Dunlop is a very special manager, he is going to carry us to great heights, and after this record has been broken, who knows what will happen with the club this season". Dunlop's Wolfsburg currently sit in 1st place.

Tottenham VS Wolfsburg

Wolfsburg Line Up
Horn, Rodriguez, Naldo (c), Miranda, Träsch, Gustavo, Khedira, Blind, De Bruyne, Vitinho, Henriquez

Subs Jovetic -> Henriquez (18) Lacazette -> Vitinho (11)

2-2
Lacazette (23), Miranda (78 pen)
Robert Soldado

Dunlop's Notes
A tough game against a top team, despite going up 1-0 I never thought we were completely on top. But an easy late penalty from the ref made sure that we got the point. Anyway it was important to go to White Hart Lane and get at least one point.

The Dutch Wonderkid has been in great goal scoring form this month, being one of the main reasons that Wolfsburg find themselves on a 16 game undefeated streak. He has scored 3 goals, but has been rapidly improving in all aspects of his game, as he develops into one of the better Dutch players.

Not the best of starts from Jovetic...
@GRIFFO He will get better soon enough. Just needs to understand his role

Wolfsburg have today announced that both Christian Träsch and Captain Naldo have both signed new contracts with the club.

Träsch will have a contract that will run over 4 years, lasting until he is 31. He will be on £79K per week, but recently he has been showing that he is worth that money.

Naldo, who is the club captain, has signed a new 3 year contract, he will be on £75K per week, and Dunlop hopes that he can keep up his current form.
