MANAGER’S THOUGHTS

We did it! Honestly at the beginning of April after we lost to Saint-Etienne I thought we’d blown it, but we have done it! We are champions of France for the first time since 2010. The boys did absolutely fantastically out there against Nantes and all season and the season and my reign in charge against Marseille has ended in triumph. Hopefully this can be the start of a much more competitive Ligue 1 and plenty of titles to come to Marseille. Unfortunately I wont be here to win any more of them but hopefully whoever replaces me can lead this title winning side on to further glories. Come on Marseille!

Congrats on the title man

Cheers mate, French Champions has a certain ring about it! I know how Griffo feels now ;)

OLYMPIQUE DE MARSEILLE CROWNED CHAMPIONS OF FRANCE

Olympique de Marseille have today been confirmed as the Champions of France for the 2017-2018 season after beating FC Nantes 2-1 on the final day of the season. The result means that Christophe Galtier’s men have won the Ligue 1 title for the first time since the 2009-2010 season when Didier Deschamps guided the team to the title, and also meant that manager Christophe Galtier signed off his spell in charge of Olympique de Marseille with the league title. Michy Batshuayi and Lucas Ocampos fired the way to the title by scoring 35 goals between the two of them as both players shone and will have no doubt increased the amount of potential suitors in both players.

CHAMPIONS! :D Congratulations!
Pfft, should've won Champions League instead ;) Congratulations in all seriousness, great achievement!

END OF SEASON AWARDS

The 2017-2018 season is over with Olympique de Marseille being crowned Champions of France for the 10th time in their history and for the first time since the 2009-2010 season. Ayoze Perez of AS Monaco was the top goalscorer in the league this year with 31 goals whilst his team mate Ivan Cavaleiro was named the Ligue 1 Star of the Season after another terrific performance this year. Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Alison took home the award for best goalkeeper after keeping 17 clean sheets in Ligue 1 this year.

The Coupe de la Ligue final was won by Paris Saint-Germain who won their second trophy in three seasons. The Coupe de France final will be contested between the Ligue 1 runners up AS Monaco and last year’s Coupe de France winners FC Lorient as they look to record a double. Manchester United won the UEFA Europa League after beating Athletic Bilbao in the Final, whilst Liverpool will meet Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League Final at the Signal Iduna Park.

CLUB END OF SEASON AWARDS

LIGUE 1 END OF SEASON AWARDS

Olympique de Marseille were featured in two of the division’s end of season awards as players featured in the Ligue 1 Star’s XI of the Season and the Ligue 1 XI of the Season. Mousa Dembele though was the only player to feature in the awards after an extremely impressive debut season at the Stade Velodrome, featuring alongside the likes of Ayoze Perez, Marquinhos and Marco Verratti in both awards.

Late to mention it but, congrats on becoming the champions of France
Get in! Champions and fully deserved, well in.
Ocampos not winning Player of the Year after the most goals and joint most assists really goes to show the senior talent in your squad as well as younger talent!
Surprising that Dembele was the only player in the best team of the season, but that doesn't matter too much in the scheme of things! :D
Great job finally getting that Ligue 1 title, certainly a lot of time and effort in your save to get that result so be proud!
