Yeah i know, it was a poor performance, but there is still the second leg to come :D
All you need is to win by 3, not even a challenge for you.

LEAGUE TABLE

PLAYER OF THE MONTH

MICHY BATSHUAYI

The Belgian forward has been in fantastic form this month for Marseille scoring 4 goals in three appearances to really help the teams cause in the title race. His all round play has been superb and he is continuing to develop into a fantastic player and one that I will be sad to leave behind when I leave Marseille at the end of the season.

MANAGER REVIEW

An up and down month for us. The defeats against Monaco and Lyon need to be addressed first, as our performances were quite up to scratch against them and it continues our poor record against the bigger teams in the league this season. We were slightly more pleasing against Monaco than against Lyon but that doesn’t matter now as the games are over and we have to move on from them, and quickly. To still be level on points with Monaco though after 33 games is brilliant and that is because they have slipped up whilst we have beaten the likes of Troyes and Lorient. I believe they have the harder run in of the two teams so it will be interesting to see how they fair in their games and hopefully we’ll be able to capitalise on any slip ups whilst hopefully there’ll be no more from us. In the Champions League, to secure a place in the Quarter Finals was brilliant and Galatasaray were blown away at the Stade Velodrome. To lose 2-0 to Barcelona was a good result as they had an awful lot of possession and efforts on goal and should have won the tie by more than 2. It now means we are in with a shot at progressing if we can play like we can do at the Stade Velodrome. A repeat of the 6-0 from the group stages would be nice.

Couple of costly losses mate, still doing brilliantly to be up there with Monaco though!
En Avant de Guingamp are seriously flying high..... you are doing well but that loss to Olympique Lyonnais would have been tough to take!
Very tight at the top!
Way too close at them moment

Yeah not the best of form this month, but we're still keeping pace and it is going to come down to the wire!

UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE QUARTER FINAL SECOND LEG UPDATE

04 April 2018

Olympique de Marseille were cruelly dumped out of the UEFA Champions League after Lionel Messi’s late goal sent Barcelona into the Semi Finals. After the 2-0 win for Barcelona at the Camp Nou last week, Marseille had to get off to a fantastic start at the Stade Velodrome if they were to stand any chance of qualifying for the Semi Finals. And that they did as in the 6th minute Mousa Dembele played a delightful through ball to Lucas Ocampos who cut the ball back onto his left foot, before delivering a fantastic curled effort into the far top corner to make it 1-0 Marseille and pull a goal back on aggregate. Marseille continued to dominate the first half and in the 35th minute, Christophe Galtier’s men were level on aggregate again as Romain Alessandrini delivered a perfectly flighted free kick into the penalty area which was met by Benjamin Mendy who met the ball perfectly and volleyed home to make it 2-0 to Marseille.

The second half was a much tighter affair in which Barcelona grew into the game and started to look dangerous again as Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar created a lot of chances that were all dealt with well by the Marseille defence and Brice Samba. However going into the 90th minute the scores were still level on aggregate at 2-2 and the game looked destined for extra time, but Marseille hearts were about to be broken. After the minimum amount of stoppage time of 2 minutes had been played Luis Suarez played the ball into Croatian playmaker Ivan Rakitic. The midfielder took a touch before playing an aerial through ball to Jordi Alba who ran into the Marseille box before squaring the ball perfectly to Lionel Messi who was never going to miss as he scored the goal that made it 2-1 on the night and took Barcelona through 3-2 on aggregate. Marseille looked deflated but Barcelona were jubilant as they qualified for the Semi Finals.

A tough result to take but you can certainly take pride in your side's performance over the second leg!
Still a very impressive campaign, keep building that squad and you will knock them off eventually!
Well damn you were very close there

Yeah it really was heartbreaking but I think we can take pride from the side's performances throughout the whole campaign, especially that 6-0 thumping of Barca earlier in the season!

Yeah a very impressive campaign, and with the right additions we should challenge next year :P

So close but yet so far!
