What a way to win over Liverpool, let's hope your team can perform on the big stage once more!
Do you know me?
This month has been a month to remind all the big boys to pay attention to the little ones, in many aspects, the little ones have stood up and made sure that they are known! This is in no way a way to shoehorn one of my favorite bands into my story...
This is more like it
Further improvement
Zogbo'nus
Unfortunate to be honest
ANOTHER FINAL
Diallo, king of consistancy
Keeping chase
In what has been a hectic month my word have we ridden the challenge and let the big boys know we can do damage against anyone. What a great month for the side, even rotation options such as Nicky Slater were showing their worth. Very happy with the MIGHTY DUCKS.
Interestingly, look how little points you needed to survive this year! A magic 40 became a magic 30 for one year, very very weird.
Player of the Month
There's no arguing this one, he's been netting all month and has easily been one of our most consistent high performers of late. He has been an integral part of the team all year, and definitely in and around the nominees for POTY. Fatuwu Diallo, thank god for your service.
Flop of the Lot
I do hate when a lad thinks he deserves first team football, you give him the occasional run out, you know, the off the bench sort of stuff, and he goes and throws it in the trash. I have never really rated this lad, he won't be getting a new contract this summer, and with stats dropping like this Stuart Skellern I won't be missing you.
The run in
Still 4 games to for us, whilst others had one foot in the swimming pool on their holidays, our lads have a long month of May. 2 games in hand on the rest of the field have a big say in this congestion, but with a chance for 10th place, I will be trying my hardest. A huge game coming up at the end of it all.
Thanks for reading,

I feel in a strange place while reading this story.....
Wycombe, Chesterfield..... in EPL
Wycombe, Chesterfield..... in EPL
Out with a whimper
After such a promising month previous to this, the final month, May, has been quite the disappointment, after we crawled across the line to finish the season in a decent position, after hinting at chances to upset the odds in places.
Foreshadowing
A valiant effort
Some old issues
The Big'en
That's a wrap
And there we have it...
Our first season done with Wycombe Wanderers, and my first ever completed season on an FM Scout story. I will follow this update with an in depth end of season analysis don't you worry, but for now, you can see how we did. If you'd said 10th on day one, I probably would've been happy with it, so not too bad.
Player of the Month
I feel this lad is very under praised to be honest, if it wasn't for him, some of the loses we've suffered this month could've been much more embarrassing, and could have seriously stunted our morale at the end of the season. (I made a boo boo continuing into the next season so you can't see his form). But Istvan Gegeny, you deserve this.
Flop of the Lot
Defensively we've been very poor however this month, with our two center backs really to blame, playing pretty poorly in games versus Chelsea. However, deciding between them both was the tough one, but I feel Zoggers really edges it, having looked too young for his position for these few games.
Coming up soon...
So guys, that concludes my first season, originating in THE SUMMER OF 69 with Wycombe Wanderers. It's been great to be honest, I can't wait to get into my next season! So, I will be creating a end of season review and analysis before taking a short few day break before starting the new season.
Until next time,
All comments will be reciprocated,
Tah
Not a bad season at all, actually. Well done and good luck in Europe!
2169/70 Season Review
So the season is done, we've finished up in 10th place, well clear of the relegation dogfight we expected to be in, but there will be a sour taste in our mouths after that FA Cup loss and the feeling we could've amounted to more than mid-table.
Without further ado, lets get into it! The process for this season preview will be as follows, my Player of the Season, my Flop of the Season, Surprise of the Season, and the games stats and opinions on who was actually my best player and best team!
Player of the Season
There are a multitude of candidates for this award, spreading throughout the team, as many, many players have put their shift in time and time again to get us to where we needed to be. We have the likes of Ruiz and Willis who have hit heights with their performances from game to game, going from strength to strength over the season. In midfield it's been a similar story, Dal-Joo has been so helpful since January, whilst the wide men have been excellent in putting goals away when he strikers couldn't. Just Sasa was anything but 'Just' this year, having unbelievable spots of form throughout. Once the strikers got going, particularly Otsuki and Ibrahim, on their day there was no stopping them, particularly highlighted by Ibrahim's 6 MOTM awards.
And the winner is...
Fatuwu Diallo, for me, he's been integral, without him, I have no clue where'd we be! Coming in from that left wing, he's utilized his pace to beat players to the ball and work past the defence. I'm so delighted with his performance this year, fresh off a summer transfer!
Flop of the Season
This is such a hard one to select, no-one has been absolutely abysmal, however, there has been the odd few who I expected more out of at the start of the season. So there's definitely a few to pick from, however, the relative decency of our injuries this year may have contributed to the consistency of our first eleven, keeping flops out, however...
And the winner is...
To go from ex-captain to 4th choice centre back is a fall from grace for sure, so I'm sorry Paris Lloyd, but it had to be someone. It's arguable that form-wise he hasn't been that poor, but in the rare times he was played, he often didn't have the time to muck things up, or he was played in easier games.
Surprise of the Season
This one has less contenders than the others, there's only been a few who have really remained irreplaceable throughout the season, where I may have considered doing so at the start, but none the less, there are a select few. Gegeny has kept the net on lock down through many occasions within the season, saving us games, and getting us huge triumphs against the big guns. Boni, described as 'just average' by me at the start of this save, has really cemented his place in the team. Just Sasa has proved that he is indeed underrated by the assistant, really coming good in many stages throughout the season. And where would we be goal-wise without Ibrahim fighting his way into the squad with consistent goals.
And the winner is...
It has to be Ibrahim! What a lad! Came out of nowhere to anchor down a spot in the starting eleven where Otsuki and Kraise couldn't take their chances. His clinical nature has really helped him rise through our ranks recently and become a standout feature, even with a relatively mediocre finishing stat. I think it's the '20' determination that gave him the fight to wrestle a first eleven place.
So what did the game think?
The game thought a bit differently on who should be winning POTS, but each to their own and all that, the graphic is a bit messed up due to the aspect ratio of windowed mode. As you can see, the Davies goal I pointed out in the October update won goal of the year, no surprise.
In terms of statistics, the game provided a few of the key ones for yours and my perusal which I enjoyed very much, a few award winners as you'd expect. I don't have favorites, I promise
Interestingly, here's the team of the year! Notable absenses include Otsuki and Daouda, but I suppose someone had to get dropped. Good to see Dal-Joo fighting his way in their though, despite only featuring since January.
The summary tab offered a unique perspective and quote to our season,it's always nice to know that the 'moment to forget' was only a 2-0 loss to an average team, that's a boost of confidence. Meanwhile our convincing 2-0 win over City was a big plus for the fans.
And finally, what do the higher powers think of me, well they love me, I mean, why wouldn't they? I'm sure they didn't expect to see such a rise in one year, but that's me, results, results, results.
Until next season!
Will be taking a break for a few days now, just to get myself up to date on the game and get some strong revision in, then I'll be back at this with the new season soon!
Been lovely to show you all my first season, all comments will be reciprocated.
Tah, Alex
Great season.... and Chesterfield 4th
2070/71 Season - Let the battle commence!
Bonjour, I hope you all enjoyed last seasons adventures, this year we have something to beat, though League Cup and 10th place will be hard to top, Europe will definitely contribute towards the success of our season. I have huge hopes for my boys as we venture into our 2nd season along with you guys! Please follow my topic as we attempt to get into Europe again, through league position though.
For every season we need a song, last year the choice was obvious wasn't it? The 2069 season can only have a certain Bryan Adams, but this year I fancy something that takes a few of us back, an obscure reference maybe?
Do any of you recognize this one?
Transfers - OUT
We said goodbye to some talents this summer as we tried to maximize our chances for next year whilst removing deadwood, it was a difficult task, especially when considering the many legends who had made their mark before we arrived.
Transfers - IN
So, how did we fill the whole the first teamers we let go left? With a few quality signings if I do say so myself, including one I am very proud of. Feel free to get excited for our future with these lads too.
After a busy summer, where are we predicted?
Okay, so shorter odds for the title than Leicester, but the bookies are predicting us to finish in a lower position than last year, guess we'll have to prove them wrong! Most interestingly, look at Yeovil, the loss of Krasniqi along with other decent talents means the bookies have tipped them to be near the bottom!
Coming up...
Before we go into the next season you can expect another update just giving you more context, I realized I focused too much on my own team last season which was great for me who understood the league and the hierarchy, but I realise you guys could do with a stronger look at some teams and their goings ons!
Until then, all comments will be reciprocated,
Tah, Alex
Only on FM would Stevenage ever be seen to grace the Premier League, along with Yeovil, Colchester and others.
Pre-Season
Okay, this isn't your scheduled 'context' update, I assure you that'll come as we progress through the series, but I've been really busy recently with exam prep and having a life etc, which as you all know is a rarity as FM'ers. Instead, I thought I'd show you how pre-season went, including a close up of 2 Euro Cup qualifiers, as well as how we'll be lining up as a squad this year until we feel the tactics a bit crap and we change it.
The Warm Ups
A very decent and well orchestrated series of pre-season friendlies, the only real downer will come in that game versus Moreirense, who I've previously explained are footballing giants nowadays! Apart from that, a well earned draw against Plymouth set us up nicely going into the business games.
Humble beginnings
Much better
All in all
We learnt lots from our time on the round through pre-season as we fought well against some larger teams to test our worth. I was surprised by how well we seem to be going at the moment, in a save like this there tends to be at-least one hiccup, but not right now thank-you.
Here is how we intend to line up this season, with no injuries or suspensions and hoping everyone plays as they should!
Most surprisingly for you guys will be the inclusion of Ibrahim up top over Otsuki, but I assure you I prefer to bring the Japanese lad off the bench, he seems to work a lot better that way rather than starting! Other than that it's all pretty straight forward now you've met the signings in my summer update, so here's to another great season.
Anyway, as usual all comments will be reciprocated,
Tah, Alex
