Championays!!!

Ole ole oleeeeee! *Spoiler, we won the bloody league! Was absolutely ecstatic even though we crawled over the finish line, although, it did definitely make it a bit nervy which is fun I suppose. Anyway, the lads played just well enough to get the job done, thank God, couldn't take coming so close.

I think there's only one song truly suitable for a Premier League win...

Oh noes

A draw was enough

On a high

Yes, I'm sick of West Ham now too

Yawnfest 2171

Swings and roundabouts

Finishing at the top

I'd just like to thank my mum, my dad, my girlfriend, my record label and my agent... This has genuinely been a great success, winning a shock Premier League and FA Cup double, the league standings look fairly comfortable in the end, as Spurs bottled it would you believe?!?! Who saw that coming?!?!?!

Player of the Month

It has to go to the lad who's been such a huge part of the season, and ultimately scored us the all important goal that won us the Premier League title, he's been bagging for fun throughout the season, and is genuinely the best free I've ever had. Mr Otsuki.

Flop of the Lot

This lad has played a lot this month through one reason or another, and really hasn't been up to standard in the centre of the park, I think it's likely I'll move him on and use a younger replacement instead after this summer. Might be time to go Slater.

In conclusion

Don't worry, I shall be back, I still have to do the season round up, unveil and few awards and talk about the future which is always fun! I hope I'll see plenty of you for next season, where I will attempt to see how we do in the Champions League, it'll be a big struggle there, and I don't expect much, but boy am I excited!

Until then, all comments will be reciprocated,

2070/71 Season Review

2 seasons, 3 trophies, not a bad record for Naso Muyei as Wycombe manager, an unprecedented rise as we combined a perfect mix of youthful exuberance and age old reliance to win the League and FA Cup this year.

Of course, this year every player has done their bit in aiding us to the summit of the League, and therefore, it's horribly difficult to pick out some of the most outstanding players of the season, however, I've endeavored to get it right...

Player of the Season

Well, well, well, like the modern day Ballon D'Or, it really comes down to two world class players, both just a cut above the rest and have been integral to the team. I am of course talking about Otsuki and Zoundi. Both of them not just scoring, but assisting too, and becoming players I can depend on for a goal when we need it most. However, I can only choose one winner.

And the winner is...

There was only ever one winner, Mamadou 'The Hump' Zoundi, as I said before, he set a new club record for Players of the Matches in the season. How could I deny him this award? He's been truly inspirational as his form card will show, and has played consistently for us over a huge amount of games. Truly deserved of the award.

Flop of the season

I feel there is very little context needed for this award, I'm sure if you've been keeping track of this years progress you'll know of the lad who most deserves this.

And the winner is...

Ousmane 'Zoggers' Zogbo, there was no other option unfortunately. Despite having played a lot throughout the season, he's been too error prone for my liking having given away too many goals and easy opportunities. He's young and naive and I have faith, but for now he's been woeful.

Surprise of the season

This has been by far the toughest decision to make this year, so many players who've gone above and beyond this season to launch us to the summit of the league, but it has to be said I saw a lot of the performances coming. However, some players have outdone their price tags, some provided quality goals and performances when we needed it most, so therefore, this was by far the hardest to decide. So many who came good when needed most.

And the winners is...

He's come on to the scene this year to displace last years POTS, and has truly worked his socks off particularly in the later stages of the season. Steve Lawson, has been monstrous for us recently, and as stated before, has risen above and beyond Diallo, making that left wing work even when I doubted it mid season.

The game's opinion

As usual, the game served up some good and some bad decisions in it's end of year summary, however, the awards seemed more evenly spread this time, rather than a loanee taking all the awards. Notably, Gassman's exclusion from the Team of the Season, despite being young player of the year.

Not inclusion for Gassman as said above, or our surprise of the season Lawson who will be bitter to miss out I'm sure.

Statistically, there's no surprise is there, Zoundi taking everything you'd expect a POTS to get, whilst Daouda and our other POTS nominee Otsuki picked up the rest of the statistical dominance, a great goal scoring season for Otsuki it has to be said, signed on a free remember.

And of course, the season review is as hyperbolic as it should be! We slowly fought our way to the top of the League table, as shown in our position graph, but we got there and shocked everyone. Next season will be hard, but we can continue to progress.

Onwards and upwards

A new year, and new goals on the horizon! They'll be a transfer special at some point in June to keep you all on your toes. Aside from that though, you'll see me at the back end of June, after my exams, from which, I will power on until FM 2017 is released.

The stadium is getting some changes too for the next year, we haven't been moved out of our stadium which is good, but extra stands are being put in while I work myself to legendary status before requesting a new stadium to be built with my name on it.

Until then, I do hope you've enjoyed this second season, the viewership has gone up as well, which I'm very happy about. See you some point in June ey?

TRANSFER SPECIAL

Here we are, summer time, many football manager's favourite time of the year, where they get to splash the cash on outrageous signings, that inevitably won't work out if you're me. There's a new lick of paint to our transfer goings on's, I hope you enjoy, give me some feedback.

Transfers -Out

Transfers - In

In summary

Some great signings, but also some very sorry departures, you may have noticed we didn't sign a massive replacement for Dal-Joo and that's simply because I don't think we need one, yes he was versatile and he can do a lot but between Just Sasa and Krasniqi, his job can be done. Therefore, I didn't feel the need to replace a player which made us so much money, when we could invest it elsewhere.

Diallo will be missed, he'd become such a cult hero it really is sad to see him go, but I feel we've managed to keep a core in this team this year, despite massive interest from big clubs after our good season. To me, it's important we continue to keep that core in tact, players like Ruiz who may look to be losing their grip on first team places must continue to feature, because I want to create legends, and have testimonials and to do that, we need players with history.

So, in conclusion, expect there not to be too many new signings down the line, we have a squad to rely on now, and unless we pull a Chelsea, we should be able to sustain our progress with the help of the few additions we made this year.

This is my last update before a slow down in their frequency, I'll be back up to speed on the 17th.

Tah, Alex

A new season upon us

Pre-season and the first few games of our 3rd season in charge at Wycombe are now past us, the league table once again begins to take shape, and we await our Champions League adventure. This year we know for sure who our rivals are, who will be tough, and who can surprise us. By modern standards, Naso Muyei is practically a veteran manager at this point, but he'll be setting about this year to at least win the league again.

Pre-season

Unfortunately the highlight of our pre-season was a negative, when we pitted ourselves against the very best of the world's teams we came up trumps, losing 6-2 to Nice after such a great start. 2-0 up after 13 minutes, but they came back to destroy us, and I really lost the will the play after this. Other than that we were very solid, a 2-1 win over Chesterfield, and a 1-0 win over them at Wembley definitely rose our confidence going into the season.

Here we go...

A great way to start the season, a tricky game against a good Colchester side, and we come out with a 2-0 win. There's no doubting Ibrahim has a stormer, tucking away 2 chances early on to secure the win, great stuff.

Another great result, no easy wins in this first stretch of games, but another 3 points to add to the collection after a very good performance and some very decent goals. Zoundi's absolute beauty on the stroke of half time must be the highlight, may be goal of the season.

It was going to well! We came a cropper to a quality Spurs side, theirs no doubting they're our main rivals for the title this year, though the penalty was very dubious, not sure if it was even in the box for starters. However, 'Corbyn' Gassman was great this game, in fact most of the team was, we just couldn't tuck away many of our 18 shots, to their 9.

United-esc late point stealing in this one. We were 30 seconds over our allotted stoppage time when Masawudu stepped up to strike a free-kick, and what do you know, it ended up in the net. Great fight from the lads in a more even game, we weren't about to let Dal-Joo's team beat us.

Slow start

To be fair, last season started a lot like this and we all saw how that went, so I have patience with our start this year, also, we have to remember we've played some top teams in this August period, so there's no worries when it comes to general form.

Player of the Month

He's started this year terrifically, not necessarily assisting every game, but playing well consistently throughout August. Korbinian 'Corbyn' Gassman has had a stormer so far, averaging an 8.02 average rating from his first few games. A very nice record, picking up a few PoM's along the way too. This proves replacing Dal-Joo with him was a very good idea! Also, look at his stats, it's weird to see so many 10's and 16's, like, it's very odd.

Flop of the Lot

Going from being candidate for Player of the Year to Flop of the Lot must be embarrassing, but Otsuki simply hasn't started off the year with the bang he ended it on in the year before. He missed a handful of chances in both the Chelsea and Spurs game which he was taking easily last season, and I am seriously doubting him. Let's hope he kicks on from here...

Up and coming

We have a variety of competitions to compete in throughout September, namely the Champions League which I will properly go through the group we have in the next update. The games don't get easier either, I expect to win 2/3 maybe, I'm sure we'll struggle though.

A quick shout out

You may have noticed some lovely graphics throughout this update, these will continue for the foreseeable future, but they're all thanks to Tallery who created them for me, I highly recommed his current story called 'Project RED', it's very interesting. Please go and have a nose.

Anyways, all comments will be reciprocated,

Tah, Alex
Decent start to the league. Hopefully you can defend your title
Blimey, are Anorthosi a group of ten year olds or something?! :))
Seven points isn't too bad a start mate, plenty to build on at least!
I would say this is a good start mate, never easy against Spurs or Chelsea!
@NinjaSkill - Yeah I hope so too, will be a big battle

@Jack - It's called a morale boost, works well ;)

@mgriffin2012 - Cheers man, a win versus Spurs would have been great but

@BeanyUnited - Yeah they're still as great as they are in modern day, Chelsea obviously signed one of our top players, and Spurs are just beastly.

Into the rhythm

We saw our first Champions league run out this month, I'll catch you all up on the league standings once we meet the half way mark of our group stage. Other than that, we have a variety of fixtures to play and largely some great results to show off. The lads have started to settle for this season and the league looks to be taking shape.

Consistency is key

A decent little result for us, played Chesterfield a total of 3 times this season, and so far we've won all 3, we were pretty dominant in this one, last years hero's in Zoundi and Otsuki getting the goals, while Jaure had a very good game.

A tight affair in our first Champions League game, Masawudu returning to his old stomping ground and being made to work for the plaudits. He didn't play too well to be honest, and was subbed near the 60 minute mark, in general, we struggled in this game, but got a decent point.

A simple 1-0er, Mourinho-esc some would say, a very tight affair against a struggling Arsenal side, but a wins a win, and I'll take it. Otsuki appears to have woken up this month after scoring another goal in this game, maybe that FoTL award got him going...

We rested a few players in this game and still came away with a decent win, Ibrahim proved he still has enough about him to fight for Otsuki's position, weirdly, we had 2 penalties in this game, the first one was taken by Kimbell, which was weird as Ibrahim was on a hat-trick, but he got it moments later as we were awarded another penalty.

I tried 2 up top in this game, as Everton are a Premier League minnow nowadays, so it made sense, and to be honest we made plenty of chances, the usual quality players had good games, Gassman enjoying having 2 strikers to hit, while Jaure enjoyed the extra men in the box to cross at.

Rivalries forming

The dynamic rivalries should be at work by now, Spurs look to be a continual threat to us from now on, and I can't wait to see how this develops. The same goes for Plymouth just behind us, who now have Diallo to inject a bit of spice into the competition.

Player of the Month

Picked up 2 assists from right back this month, and looks to have found a home at right back after a topsy-turvy season last year. Jaure has been captain consistent so far and looks to be setting a great example for the young Kimbell at left back. Jaure also picked up Player of the Match 2 times this month, matching his assist rate.

Flop of the Lot

This lad always seems to feature every now and then in FoTL but this month really hasn't been the best for Mohamed Daouda, as he looks to have struggled to keep pace with the rapid development of the squad around him. Of course, he's a young lad, and I intend to keep him and watch him develop, but for now he's not been great.

Big games on the horizon

Some huge games coming up, Man City will be a big tie but they're on the down right now, struggling around the mid table, while Sheffield United will also be a threat, they have some great wide players like Koppel who was a potential left wing candidate instead of Masawudu. However, the biggest battle will be away at Plymouth, the home of Diallo, a huge grudge match.

Anyway guys, hope you've all enjoyed, this was a much better month than the last,

All comments will be reciprocated,

Thanks, Alex
