15-year-old German striker Caglar Dogan will join us at the end of the season from Mainz after he rejected a contract from them. We offered him a contract and after a bit of tough negotiating it was finally settled.
LIVERPOOL CRASH OUT

Liverpool have crashed out of the FA Cup after the Reds suffered a 2-1 defeat against Tottenham, the same result they got when they faced Tottenham in the Premier Division last month. Spurs will now go on to face Bristol City in the next round of the FA Cup while the Reds will be wondering about what could have been. Ecuadorian striker Felipe Caicedo struck first, scoring the first goal of the match but Liverpool responded with Carlos Fierro's brilliant equalizer. Caicedo then scored his second, which would prove to be the winner, as Tottenham ran down Liverpool.

Joe Cole has expressed his concern over how he never seems to be able to get into the team and has requested a transfer to elsewhere so he can play first-team football. I have agreed to his request and so far he has been attracting a lot of interest in the lower leagues of America, but Seattle Sounders, who are in the top division of America namely the MLS, want his services and are prepared to pay 2 million.

We next face Manchester United who are on a TWENTY SEVEN MATCH UNBEATEN RUN which is pretty incredible. They are sitting comfortably at the top of the Premier League, about 5-6 points ahead of us in 2nd place so it'll be hard to get anything from this match but of course I'll try my best to beat them and end their amazing run.
And of course, we lost to Man United 3-0 with a hat trick by Javier Hernandez and we have dropped down to 3rd in the Premier League as Man City climbed above us to 2nd. :(
We are through to the quarter finals of the Champions' League after beating Zenit 3-1 in the second leg of the Champions' League and going through 5-2 on aggregate. Craig Bellamy scored twice before getting sent off for an ugly challenge, and substitute Carlos Fierro came on to score a third. Zenit's Portugese midfielder Danny then scored a consolation for the Russian club as they crashed out of the Champions' League.
Carlos Fierro thanks Liverpool
Only a few hours after Mexican striker Carlos Fierro, on loan at Liverpool from Chivas, got the Young Player of the Month award for March, he released a statement on the official Liverpool website thanking the club and it's supporters. In the statement he hinted at wanting to stay at Liverpool permanently.

"I want to thank Liverpool Football Club for having gave me the opportunity to play in England and I myself am very happy that I'm playing so well. The fans and my teammates are especially friendly so it's really good to be working here in Merseyside. They are what helps me keep up my consistent play and my goal-scoring abilities. I hope to score many more goals for Liverpool as long as I can."
March
March was a turbulent month with wins against Southampton, Zenit and Birmingham, but losses to Manchester United and Tottenham, coupled with a draw at Newcastle. However on the positive side we are through to the quarter finals of the Champions' League where we are facing Inter Milan. Real Madrid and Barcelona face off in the quarters as well and if we win against Inter we have to match up against who ever comes out top in the Real vs Barca match. It'll be tough but I am still hopeful of getting to the final and winning the Champions' League a remarkable SIXTH time. I am also on a signing spree and there will be quite a lot of young, 15-18 year old players joining us at the end of the season. More on that later...
April

A really tough run-in, with matches against Chelsea, Inter and Arsenal this month. However we handled this month well and had some very great results like the 3-0 thrashing of Inter, the 7-1 thrashing of Aston Villa and the 6-1 thrashing of Arsenal. We also won 3-0 against our neighbors Everton and drew 3-3 with rivals Chelsea. In the latter, Steven Gerrard scored first, and this was followed by a Fernando Torres goal. Our captain then scored his second but Chelsea responded through Ramires' equalizer. I thought it was all over when Steven Gerrard got a header in to complete his hat trick for a 3-2 scoreline in the 94th minute but unbelievably John Terry scored with a similar header to equalize for Chelsea and I only walked away with one point in a 3-3 draw. However there are of course some positives in the month, like the aforementioned thrashings. Winning 3-1 on aggregate against Inter, we advance to the Champions' League semi-final which is a remarkable achievement, but Barca, who had beaten Real Madrid, now stands in our way to the final.
REDS SO CLOSE TO UPSET

Glenn Tham's 100th match as Liverpool manager didn't turn out so bad as the Reds faced Barcelona. Predicted to suffer a heavy loss, Liverpool got extremely close to an upset as they drew 1-1 against Barcelona at home in Anfield. Steven Gerrard opened the scoring in the 20th minute, and Barcelona could not respond until the 76th minute when David Villa got clear of the defenders to snatch one away goal for Los Cules.

"It's disappointing that they've got an away goal. We were so close to an upset," Tham said in his post match press conference. "However it's an acceptable result to be honest and we'll try our best in the second leg at Camp Nou. We haven't gone to play at Camp Nou for awhile and it has such a fantastic atmosphere - I'm sure the boys will be relishing the opportunity to play at one of the world's most established stadiums."
Excellent story mate, keep going! :)
Thank you! :)
After fielding in a weak starting eleven against Man City, we lost 3-0 and have completely slipped out of the title race. We will now attempt to keep our 3rd place spot which will be fairly easy.

It is now May and this is the league table, with a few more games to go.
Manchester City have progressed to the final of the Champions' League at the expense of A.C. Milan!
I am putting Steven Gerrard on the bench for the second leg against Barca as he is not completely fit and definitely unable to play through the entire 90 minutes of such an intense match... He had sustained an injury in the first leg and he still needs more time to recover fully. However as he can play, I'll put him on the bench just in case I need some help. Instead, Jamie Carragher will captain the team against Barcelona today. Sebastian Coates, who was expected to start alongside Daniel Agger, will not be starting due to his horrendous display against Man City in our last game. This match will also see both Martin Montoya and Seydou Keita playing against their former club for the first time.

Line-up: Reina, Montoya, Agger, Carragher, Enrique, Lucas, Henderson, Keita, Suarez, Carroll, Fierro
