I paid 22.5 million for Yaya Sanogo at the start of 12/13 season, which is in June 2012. He joined from AJ Auxerre in Ligue 1 and has so far proven to be money well spent. Carlos Fierro is definitely my signing of the summer though!
Fernando Muslera

The 26-year-old Uruguayan keeper joins for 12 million from Turkish club Galatasaray and will serve as back-up and hopefully future successor to Pepe Reina. "I am delighted to be given the opportunity to play on a higher level with Liverpool," said Fernando Muslera in his first press conference at Merseyside. "I hope to impress and hopefully secure a first-team place here. One of the main things I want to do here is to learn English so I can converse properly with my manager and my teammates."
My offer for Portugese 17-year-old central midfielder Igor Seide has been accepted but Igor Seide has no wish to play in the Reserves and contract talks immediately broke down when I told him he would be featuring in the Reserves more than in the first team.

Dirk Kuyt was poised to join West Ham but it seems talks have broken down over how much the Dutch winger should be paid per week. West Ham are unwilling to match Kuyt's salary and they are adamant that he will have to take a pay cut to leave Liverpool.

Right-back David Soley has left on loan to Millwall until the end of the season.

Nathan Eccleston, Daniel Ward and Stephen Sama has been released by Liverpool.

Liverpool's 81-year-old scout Cesare Maldini, the father of Milan legend Paolo Maldini, has completely retired from the game, leaving Liverpool after a two-year stint. Ray Clemence, one of Liverpool's goalkeeping coaches, has also announced his intention to retire from the game a year later.

Marc Pelosi has been released on a free transfer by Liverpool.

Liverpool are keen to bring in 16-year-old French left back Benoit Bruneau from Olympique Lyon, while Lyon are keen on Lucas Leiva. However Liverpool have issued a hands-off warning to Lyon which probably means an exchange of players will not exist. The Reds are also believed to be close to signing Tom McMinigal from Man City on loan. The Man City striker is 17 and has not made any first-team appearances for City. If Liverpool sign McMinigal it might mean they will give up their chase of highly rated 17-year-old Newcastle striker Miles Riley, and Portugese striker Nelson Oliveira might also be on his way out of Anfield.
Many notable changes all over England as Sir Alex Ferguson and Harry Redknapp both retire from their posts as Man United and Tottenham Hotspur manager respectively.

Joe Cole and Dirk Kuyt have rejected contract offers from Atletico Madrid and West Ham respectively - while Stewart Downing is poised to join Schalke in the Bundesliga after his successful loan spell.
The Liverpool Fans' Player of the Year has been decided as Luis Suarez.

12/13 Best Eleven: Reina, Montoya, Kelly, Agger, Enrique, Lucas, Henderson, Gerrard, Sanogo, Suarez, Carroll

Joe Cole is continuing to attract interest from some of the Premier League mid-table clubs with West Ham, Sunderland and Aston Villa all chasing his signature. However Dirk Kuyt seems to have driven away potential clubs as no club is willing to make a move because of his outrageous wage demands. In other news involving Liverpool, Downing has surprisingly rejected the contract offer from Schalke for unnamed reasons.

Fabio Aurelio has joined Liverpool as a first team coach following his retirement from professional football.

David Moyes has left Everton and joined Manchester United as it's manager after Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement.

Daniel Agger has penned a new two-year contract while Seydou Keita has signed a one-year contract. Martin Kelly and Jonjo Shelvey will both be staying at Liverpool in the near future as they have signed new five-year contracts with the club. Hopefully one-club men?

Not only the players but even the staff have penned new contracts. A few of my scouts, who were influential in the search for young talent, have signed new contracts. I have also penned a new five-year contract with Liverpool, which will see me earning 100k per week, with my previous contract saw me earning 74k per week. Sebastian Coates has revealed his delight at how I have agreed to stay at Liverpool for the long term and also Thomas Werner, the chairman, has done so, saying I have shown a great commitment to the fans.

Contract talks with Steven Gerrard, our captain have failed as he feels we didn't offer a lucrative enough contract. Similarly, contract talks with hot prospect Robbie Cotton has also failed. Jamie Carragher has refused to sign a new contract until later in the year.

Joe Cole has joined Sunderland on a 1 million deal, while players such as Charlie Adam, Stewart Downing, John Flanagan and Jack Robinson have returned from the clubs they were loaned out to.
Nelson Oliveira has joined Sampdoria in the Serie A in a 2 million deal.
Alberto Aquilani has joined Valencia in a 2 million deal as well.
Liverpool kick off pre-season against Lille, before following up with matches against Genk, Cardiff, Torquay, Leeds and lastly Besiktas.

Dirk Kuyt has joined Sevilla in a 1 million deal.
Arsene Wenger has retired from management and left his post as manager of F.C. Barcelona after only two years.
Fulham have made an enquiry for Jack Robinson... I told them to f**k off, literally.

Tom McMinigal is not interested in leaving Man City and will not join Liverpool on loan unless there is no future fee involved.

I am interested in a double swoop involving McMinigal and Balotelli, McMinigal on loan and Balotelli on a permanent transfer. Hopefully McMinigal will enjoy his loan spell and get persuaded to come to Liverpool permanently.
Australia want Glenn Tham as their manager... Contract rejected!
Stewart Downing is set to move on loan to Schalke for a second season while Charlie Adam will either go on loan again, to Aston Villa or to join his teammate Downing at Schalke. Both on loan though, as no teams are interested in permanent transfers.
