Saturday 22nd November 2014 – Manchester City v Everton (Premier League)
City begin a mad spell of games where they played 4 games in 9 days, following Everton on Saturday, they played Leverkusen in the Champions League on Tuesday, Sunderland in the League on Friday and then Wolves in the Capital One Cup Quarter Final on the Monday. City are also facing an Everton side without a manager as David Moyes left for Athletic Bilbao earlier in the week.
MCFC Starting XI – Hart, Richards, Varane, Nastasic, Ramon; Nasri, De Rossi, Lampard, Bale; Sneijder; Cavani SUBS – Forster, Zabaleta, Kompany, Toure, Milner, Aguero, de Jong
Everton Starting XI – Howard, Coleman, Jagielka, Heitinga, Celustka; Colback, Sidwell, Gibson; Mirallas, Pienaar; Jelavic SUBS – Mucha, Distin, Brayford, Naismith, Zaha, Duffy, Hibbert
A very one-sided game at the Etihad today, as City ran away with it and put four past an Everton side lacking leadership from the sideline. Samir Nasri was City’s star man as he completely ran the game from the right side of midfield and also scored a brilliant solo effort.
Final Score – Manchester City 4 (Cavani 9, Nasri 20, Bale 40, Varane 72) Everton 1 (Jelavic 41)
MOTM – Samir Nasri
Attendance – 43,708
