Just a ridiculously good story. You are so good at this. Aha ;)
A very good update Ben :) Keep it up! SPORTING ALLEZ!
Nice update, and every update just keeps getting better. :D :)
Incredible Blue, you still winning all games :D
Beating Juve for 3-0 is awesome mate, and great win against Porto.
I really enjoy this story. You are an amazing writer!

No, YOU ARE AWESOME LOL!

Matthaus’ Diary – Start of October 2013

Galatasary 0-1 Sporting – UCL Group D – 2.10.2013

Sporting (4-6-0): Patricio, Rodriguez, Boulahrouz, Carrico, Insua, Kara, Elias, Adrien, Carrillo, Adryan, De Bruyne

Red Cards: Eboue (Galatasary, 5 mins)

Goals: De Bruyne (34)

MOTM: Insua (Sporting)
What too think of it, from the 5th minute onwards you had a man more situation. Yet your team didn't really manage to hurt galatasary, atleast not if we only see the score.
But ofcourse the most important thing is you won
Istanbul is a hard place to go and grab a win so you have done really well there Blue. Such a good story so far, well written and really like the way you present it.

Keep it up Blue!

Liédson: "They Want Revenge"

Sporting Clube de Portugal icon Liédson has warned the current Sporting to be wary ahead of the first Lisbon derby of the season, claiming Benfica will want revenge for the five defeats Sporting inflicted on them last season. Liédson played for the Verde-e-Brancos for eight years between 2003-11, netting 173 goals in 313 games for Sporting, and will certainly know a thing or two about derbies, having played in several Derby da Segunda Circular matches himself.

Speaking to a newspaper back in his native Brazil, the 35-year-old spoke about the upcoming derby match. "There's derbies everywhere in the world every day, but for me, the Lisbon one is special. I played here for eight years, and in derbies like this. Last season was great for Sporting. Not only the domestic and continental success, which has continued into this season, but also the five derby wins against Benfica. That's amazing, and gives the bragging rights to Sporting, but this season is different. They had all summer to improve, and they want revenge for the five losses. We didn't exactly improve hugely in the summer, so we need to be wary not to think we are too good to beat them. Benfica are a very good team, we can't forget that. However, Matthaus is a very good manager, and if we do end up victorious it could set the tone for another very good domestic season."

Sporting play Benfica at their own ground in their next match just two days after their latest Champions League game, away to Galatasary. This means it is being billed as a tight encounter by pundits, but following victories over Barcelona and Juventus, Sporting fans will be confident they can pull off a sixth derby victory in a row.

Author's Note

This post is a special one for my 800th on the site, dedicated to Sporting CP icon Liédson. I felt I needed to do something special for my 800th, and here it is. I leave you with a video of Liédson's time in Lisbon.

Go out their and hammer Benefica in to the ground! SPORTING ALLEZ!!! :D
Pffffttt! They won't have revenge for like until you leave Sporting ;)! Anyways, HAMMER THEM porno style :P :O
Incredible job beating Benfica 5 times . :D. I know that the run will continue :D

Sporting v Benfica - Liga ZON Sagres - 5.10.2013

We're live here in Lisbon for one of the hottest tickets in Europe. The Derby de Lisboa between Sporting CP and Benfica. Sporting top the league ahead of their city rivals by a few points, but a win here for Benfica would put them back on top of the league, and avenge the five derby day defeats inflicted by Sporting last season.

There have been many games between these two great sides over the years, but here is one of the best...

Here are the lineups for both teams:

Sporting (4-6-0): Patricio, Soares, Boulahrouz, Carrico, Rojo, Kara, De Bruyne, Adrien, Zaha, Adryan, Capel

Benfica (4-1-2-1-2): Artur, Pereira, Luisao, Lopez, Ziegler, Vukojevic, Salvio, Gaitan, Cesar, Oliveira, Cardozo

It's only been a couple of days since Sporting played a European away match, and a few players have failed to regain fitness, meaning Zaha makes his first start for Sporting on the right wing, and the full backs aren't the best in the squad, but apart from that they're strong sides for both teams.

Commentary From Martin Tyler

1 min: Sporting get the first Lisbon derby of the season underway.

15 min: Capel has the free kick 35 yards out and it favours his left foot. He floats it in towards BOULAHROUZ!!! SPORTING TAKE THE LEAD, AND IT'S BOULAHROUZ WITH HIS FIRST GOAL OF THE SEASON! 15 minutes gone, and it's Sporting 1 Benfica 0!

HT: The ref blows for half time and Sporting still have the lead. Can they hold out until full time?

FT: THE REF BLOWS THE WHISTLE AND SPORTING TAKE THE THREE POINTS FROM THIS DERBY ENCOUNTER!!! Sporting keep the bragging rights until the next derby, but it was a boring game in general today. That won't matter to Matthaus and his players, who have won this game!
