Euro 2020: Quarter Final Draw

With the passing of the Second Round, the Euro 2020 Quarter Final draws were done by UEFA president Robert McLaren Saville and recently-elected FA chairman, former U2 musician Paul Hewson.

The first two teams drawn out by Saville and Hewson were Belgium and Portugal.

Belgium barely managed to beat Switzerland 2-1 and will be looking to get one over Portugal.

Led by Andre Villas-Boas and captain Cristiano Ronaldo, Portugal are billed as pre-match favorites, and despite Belgium having no lack of quality players, possessing the likes of Eden Hazard within their ranks, the Portuguese are expected to kick them out of the tournament easily.

Villas-Boas' national side defied World Rankings and completely outclassed France, who were 2 spots above them in the FIFA rankings. Ronaldo bagged a brace and Marco Magalhaes struck in the 69th minute to win the match 3-1.

The French Football Federation will not be happy with this at all, but Portugal certainly are.

Spain and Norway were drawn to play against each other next, in a match that will almost certainly go in the favor of the Spanish.

In the Second Round, Norway lived up to pre-match favorites and managed to beat Sweden 2-0, but Spain had a bit more of a struggle with Italy although they eventually manage to slay the Azzuri with a score of 2-1 with early goals from Rodrigo and Juan Mata.

Norway will have little to no hope of beating Spain, but certainly have what it takes to pull off an upset against the Euro champions, however unlikely it might be.

Greece will face tournament hosts Turkey in their Quarter Final round.

Both are minnows of the tournament, and both will also be delighted to be facing another minnow to stretch their tournament run as far as possible.

The duo are the lowest-ranked nations still in the tournament, with Greece at 49th in the World Rankings and Turkey at 77th.

However, the Turkish have shown that they can always work their 'home ground magic' (aka match-fixing, cheating etc), as seen from their Second Round match against Germany. Despite being classed as definite favorites to emerge victorious, Germany stuttered against the lively Turkey players. The match ended in penalty shootouts going in favor of Turkey after a 1-1 draw.

Greece crushed Ukraine 3-0 themselves and with the squad being in high spirits, they will a;sp have a very good chance of outclassing Turkey.

The final two to be drawn are England and Serbia.

The Three Lions barely scraped a win against Czech Republic with a solitary goal from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in extra time and will be looking to silence critics with a convincing win over Serbia.

The Serbs will not be letting up themselves, already beating Austria 2-0 in the Second Round, and although they aren't favorites to win, will still be looking to get one over England and go as far as possible in this European Championship.

8 nations, 4 matches.

But only 4 of these 8 will make it to the Semi Finals of Euro 2020.

Who will win their fixture and make it through to the Semi Finals? Leave your predictions in the comments section below.
No sheez Sherlock! Another amazing update! Good luck!

Portugal vs Belgium is the big game there. Come on the Belgians (only if they still have the Chelsea link :P )
Yuttra: Dafuq?

TSO: I hope Belgium can pull off an upset! The easier the remaining opponents the better ;)

Euro 2020: Quarter Final

Jozef Ostrowski: Hello, everyone, and welcome to the first ever match commentary done by FM Scout Sports.

Louis Ostrowski: We're new to the footballing scene and we hope our commentary and run-through of today's Quarter Final match between England and Serbia will entertain all of you today. I'm Louis Ostrowski.

Jozef Ostrowski: And I'm Jozef Ostrowski. Yes, we're brothers!

Louis Ostrowski: That's pretty obvious, Jozef, although I am way more mature.

Jozef Ostrowski: Oi!

Louis Ostrowski: England have to prove their critics wrong today after a poor win over Czech Republic in the Second Round by soundly beating Serbia, but the Serbs will be looking to do everything they can to prevent that.

Jozef Ostrowski: The line-ups are in.

England: Hart; Walker, Shawcross, Lenti, Naughton; Sterling, Henderson, Hughes, Ince; Sturridge, Carroll

Serbia: Brkic; Kovacevic, Cosic, Subotic, Nastasic; Mijailovic, Kuzmanovic, Ignjovski; Stojicic, Celeketic; Bjekic

Louis Ostrowski: David Beckham has fielded what appears to be a second-string team today, with Fedele Lenti playing instead of Phil Jones, as well as the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Jack Wilshere being on the bench. He is underestimating Serbia a little, don't you think?

Jozef Ostrowski: Yes, but I am sure Serbia will be very happy with this, and they will surely punish England as much as they can for underestimating them.

Louis Ostrowski: Agreed. The likes of Neven Subotic, Matija Nastasic and Zdravko Kuzmanovic are going to give England a very hard time.

Jozef Ostrowski: Daniel Sturridge and Andy Carroll partnering up in attack, what do you think of that pairing, Louis?

Louis Ostrowski: It's one that can produce goals, of course. Daniel Sturridge is a great, fast-paced and capable goalscorer, while Andy Carroll can bully defenders easily. Quite a partnership.

Jozef Ostrowski: The whistle is blowing off now, let's kick on to the match.

1' - The match starts here at the Izmir Community Arena. Be sure to tune in to FM Scout Sports throughout the match for live updates.

10' - Andy Carroll is on the end of a Jordan Henderson free kick, but his header is met by Zeljko Brkic's palms.

16' - Kyle Naughton's shot hits the post.

35' - Luka Bjevic has an effort, but that's nowhere near troubling Joe Hart. Bjevic does an Emile Heskey and the ball flies into the stands.

42' ENGLAND GOAL - England take the lead, with Chelsea winger Tom Ince being the hero. On the left wing, Ince darted past Milan Kovacevic to run into the penalty area, eventually powering a shot past Zeljko Brkic. Great effort!

45' - And we come to the conclusion of the first half, a really good match for England so far where they have dominated despite only scoring one goal. Can Serbia pick themselves up for the next 45 minutes? Let's see...

HT: England 1-0 Serbia

45' - We're back, just in time for the second half. Both sides have made changes with Jack Wilshere coming on for England in place of Will Hughes, while Serbia have Dusan Tadic coming on for Filip Celeketic.

48' - Daniel Sturridge hits it close-range... too close, however, as Brkic manages to get to it and palm it away.

52' - Phil Jones and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are on for Ryan Shawcross and Raheem Sterling. It's going to be a lot harder for Serbia to find an equalizer now.

59' - Kyle Naughton throws the ball into the area for Fedele Lenti, who heads it...! Right into the hands of Brkic.

60' - Andy Carroll has a crack, but Brkic knocks it away. Heroic goalkeeping from the Serbian goalie today.

67' - It's another long throw into the area from Kyle Naughton, and... Fedele Lenti goes down from some slight contact with Neven Subotic! Is it a penalty...? No, I don't think so... wait, it is! The referee is pointing to the spot! Unbelievable, I thought he won the ball! The Serbs are protesting furiously, but the ref will have none of it!

67' - Jack Wilshere steps up to take the penalty. Will the Arsenal captain sweep it in?

68' ENGLAND GOAL - Yes he will! Wilshere's penalty goes into the bottom left of the net, a well-struck penalty. England go 2-0 up!

90' - And it's full-time here at the Izmir Community Arena. Some great entertainment here by England and Serbia, but ultimately, the victors are England, who will be very happy with their display today.

FT: England 2-0 Serbia

An easy win in the end for the three lions! Great update ;)
