Amazing scenes at Ewood Park

Lambert and the fans celebrate the fourth

There was some truly unbelievable sights to be seen at Ewood Park in the race for promotion as Southampton managed a superb comeback to win. Chris Kamara's Saints side quickly went behind to a Jordan Rhodes header from a long ball into the box, but despite a sending off for Gael Givet for 2 bookable offences the tide did not turn and Rhodes managed another header into the net, this time from a corner. At half time Chris Kamara was obviously angry at his side but tried to motivate them as they needed a win in all their games remaining, but his speech had no effect as Rhodes bagged a headed hat trick with a diving header from just inside the box which flew past Pablo Gazzaniga in the Southampton goal. With only 15 minutes remaining and Watford and Tranmere both leading their games, Kamara had to act and he threw on Jay Rodriguez, who scored straight away with a scrappy effort, and then again 2 minutes later, when he was played through by Luke Shaw. Kamara's side pushed even further and Rickie Lambert pushed the ball in with his head to put the teams on level terms, yet that wasn't the final twist in the tail as Rodriguez pounced on a loose ball to give Saints the lead in the most unexpected fashion, and Blackburn's misery was compounded by Rickie Lambert's last minute strike which powered past Paul Robinson to seal the win. Chris Kamara was left absolutely speechless as the news trickled in that Michael Chopra had scored a late equaliser for Crystal Palace at Vicarage Road to put Watford down into 7th position. Jay Rodriguez was given the Man of the Match award as Jordan Rhodes stormed off in a huff, visibly angry with his side's poor defending which allowed Southampton back in the game. Kamara said after the game,"I couldn't believe it. If there was ever a time where I should have used the word unbelievable, it was there! Jay Rodriguez and Rickie Lambert combined amazingly well, and we got 5 goals in the last 15 minutes. Is there anything better than that for the neutrals? Definitely not."
Congrats on the amazing turn-around to win, I hope that you can get promotion! :)

I couldn't believe it and it put me in the play-off places as Watford drew to Palace, so I am on course for the play-offs and maybe the Prem! :D

It was an amazing match, I had something similar in my first season against Wolves, won that 5-3, but the weird thing is that Rodriguez has not scored in 6 games prior to that. ;)

The npower Championship

Aston Villa were confirmed as champions of the npower Championship in their first year after coming down from the Premier League. They also managed to beat Arsenal 2-1 to win the Capital One Cup. They were followed up by Blackburn who had the league's top scorer Jordan Rhodes, who won on the final day to put Wolves in 3rd, whilst Stoke, who were also recently relegated, finished in fourth. The surprise team of the season was Tranmere who had only just come up from League One, who edged Southampton by one point. It was misery for Watford who spent most of the season in 5th but could only muster a 7th placed finish and missed out on a shot at promotion, although they did end up above Brighton and Ipswich who were 8th and 9th respectively. Bottom of the league was Coventry with a meagre 38 points, and they went down to League One alongside Peterbrough and Blackpool, who were both unlucky to go down as they both finished level on points with Charlton who survived. We hope to see some great action in the Play-Offs, with Wolves, Stoke, Tranmere and Southampton.
Good luck in the playoffs :)

Manager's Notes:
A strong finish to secure a play off spot! Unbelievable effort against Blackburn to come back from 3-0 and win 5-3, and Jay Rodriguez and Rickie Lambert combined devastatingly in the absence of Patjim Kasami to secure a great win. The work involved has been difficult but it was all worth it.

Unbelievable Player Of The Month:
Patjim Kasami bagged many goals from midfield whilst on loan from my old club Fulham and we have agreed a deal to sign him for £5m. I hope he puts in performances of a similar standard.

Unbelievable Goal Of The Month: Despite there being 5 goals in one game, our goal of the month came after it and it was from Patjim Kasami, with a thunderous volley from just inside the box.
Amazing results there, crazy match at Blackburn!
Patjim Salami is awesome!
