After yet another win in the Premier League, relegation favourites Southampton have unbelievably gone top of the league.
Jay Rodriguez, Maya Yoshida and Patjim Kasami were all on the score sheet as they beat West Brom 3-1, with Robert Snodgrass giving the home side the opener.
Southampton were only expected to be fighting to survive this year but they have made many great signings, and although they were knocked out of the Capital One Cup at an early stage by Chelsea, but they are on fire in the league, and have lost only once, to Arsenal. Manager Chris Kamara insists his side will not get carried away.
"We are top of the league, and I didn't expect that, but I don't think anyone did.We will not get carried away, it shouldn't affect our performances. If anything, being higher in the table should make us better because higher quality teams go in higher league positions. I have no worries".
Despite Kamara's optimism, pundits have suggested that they will fall away and that they may still have to fight for survival. However, although this may jus be a lucky break and a good run of form, nobody can doubt that Southampton have been nothing short of brilliant recently.
