He is 19 and a goal machine! I managed to get him on a free when his contract expired which is very good for us.

New Kits

Last season Oriental sported some of the flashiest kits in the league, thanks to an Australian kit manufacturer Edu. But this season Oriental have generously been offered to wear kits by a man named Steve Kean ( ;) ). The kits are some of the next level stuff, and can hopefully provide valuable funds.

Fans flocked to the Oriental shop outside the Carlos Salema to get the kits, which were in stock for the first time today. Here are the actual kits straight from the Oriental website.

The club will be sponsored this season by FM Scout, a popular site about the Football Manager game series. The money from this deal will also bring in extra cash for some important deals.

Home & Away Kits

Steve has done a brilliant job sticking to the traditional design by keeping the sleeves and club's brown and white colours remain. The kit is made by Nike and Steve Kean, who teamed up for this project

A Big Thank You To...

Lucas_C!! He just randomly made these kits for me and they are fantastic, I had to use them. Check out his Penatgon Challenge - Steve Kean Style! A great read, a great manager so go give it a read :)

August

It has finally arrived! The season begins and I can finally breath a sigh of relief. Football is the game I love, managerment is the job I love, so I can't wait. The first month was good month to start off on. We scored lots of goals and we were tight at the back. We only had one loss this month too, putting us in a strong position in the table.

We also progressed to the second round of the Cup, as we beat lower league side Oliveira Hospital 3-0 and we were able to rest players too. My only concern is the three goals conceded at both CD Aves and Uniao Madeira which means the team might require some extra defense training. But what I was particularly please about is that we were able to outscore the opponents in both those games.

League Table

Lots of the contenders started well, and we also did. Hopefully we can build on this position in the future. We beat CD Aves this month which is a sign of how strong we are. Hopefully we can grab some more points at stronger sides and then I make us one of the favourites for promotion.

Hi guys, this may or may not be the last update like this. I was thinking of maybe presenting the monthly updates how k1rups did with his Lyon story, which means all the logos and information. It will take a lot longer but I think it might look better, what do you guys like? Feel free to leave advice below :)

I think the layout you currently use is fine, but obviously the more time spent the better it will look. Either way I'll continue to follow :D

Ok thanks Lucas, I was just wondering, because it might look more professional. Thanks for reading :)
Flying start! Unlucky to lose to Varzim but the goals are there :) About the layout, I like it as it is BUT... a layout like k1rups would also look good so it's entirely up to you. Win/Win situation :)

September (And A Little Bit Of October)

After a great first month, we went into September with a lot of games. The next two months were full, with cups, league cups and other game coming in our direction left right and center. The month started with a tough match versus Leixoes SC and our shocking defence let 5 in. We may have scored three but I was not happy with this. In the second round of the cup we versed Rebordosa and again we were able to rest most key players with reasonable success. Those key players came back and got a fantastic win over CFO Belenenses, beating them 3-1 on their own turf.

Next we travelled to FC Penafiel and came away with a brilliant result. Another 3-1 away win in our favour, hopefully we could keep this form up. In the League Cup we were unluckily drawn against Liga Zon Sagres side Academica and we weren't good enough. They silenced the home crowd with three goals. To finish the busy month we played Tondela and made an amazing comeback from 2-0 down we won 3-2, one of the best wins of my career! There will be a match report in the next update on that. I will be ignoring the last two results as they were not in September.

Player Of The Month

I don't have a screenshot of the table so I am going to fill the gap with our player of the month. That player is Filipe Oliveira! The attacking midfielder has definately filled the void left by Rodrigo Antonio in the summer, and has managed to score goal after goal after goal. This youngster has so much creativity and finishing ability, he is a real gem.

Oriental 3-2 Tondela

10' P. Ganho
52' Rafa

56' M. Margaca
69' S. Araujo
74' M. Lopes

Oriental Lisbon made a fighting comeback against CD Tondela to claim all three points when it seemed certain that Tondela would take the spoils in an eventful match in Lisbon.

Malaysian midfielder Nazmi Faiz was taken off injured early on forcing an early substitution. Minutes later Bernal played Pedro Ganhao through and he lobbed onrushing Bruno Martins from 20 yards under heavy pressure. Tondela easily looked the better side during the first half.

And only seven minutes into the second half, Oriental relinquished possession in the middle of the park, and Daniel Bahia beat two men on the right wing too easily before crossing it to Rafa at the back post who volleyed past Bruno Martins from a tight angle.

Oriental were beginning to look anxious, but the leadership shown by Sufrim in the middle of the park was the catalyst for the comeback, as he won Oriental a corner. Joaquim Monteiro swung in a curling left foot cross that Marco Margaca headed home, beating Araujo at the near post.

Now Oriental gained some momentum. Joao Paulo Pinto got into an advanced position on the left wing but his cross was blocked by Sandro Alves. It fell to captain Sufrim, who launched a 35 yard screamer that deflected off Samuel Araujo and wrong-footing goalkeeper Trinidade in the process. 2-2, and the Oriental fans cheered on for a third!

Joao Paulo Pinto was again allowed too much space in an advanced position, and found Manuel Lopes, on loan from Estoril Praia, at the back post, and the winger volleyed home a late winner, much to the delight of the home support.

Manager Vitor Martins made a rare media appearance, and praised his side's belief and fight. "We showed why we deserve to be promoted today. 2-0 with half an hour left, you'd think game over. Well not our boys, they fight to the end, and that is what football is all about," he said passionately.

Ater two months, Oriental are in a strong position pushing for promotion, which they narrowly missed out on last year, finishing third behind Gil Vicente and champions Vitoria Setubal.
Incredible turn around versus Tondela. It's insane to see the amount of goals in your games. Surely not good for your heart rate :P
