The Contenders
After last month's fantastic performance, we had steadily climbed the table, and were really in the fight for promotion, along with a few other teams. If we could continue last month's form, we could maybe get ourselves into the top two, and cement a place in there. Although, this was made tougher because the two teams ahead of us were well ahead of us.

Aves were sitting comfortably ahead of us on 42 points. They were the form team, and hadn't missed a beat. After we beat them 6-1 last season, they must've improved. If there is one team in the league that looks like champions, it is them.

Portimonense are one of the two teams relegated from the Liga Zon Sagres. They have set the pace also and are an extremely difficult side to play against. This team looks capable of keeping up their level of performance throughout the whole season and look like favourites this season.

The final team on the list, they are tough but I know we can beat them, and even if they have a game in hand, they are the weakest out of the four contenders. If we can get some more points on the board, we can get past these guys and the guys trailing them, and make it a three horse race.
So, how do we fair? We sit on 38 points, one ahead of Belenenses. If we can extend the gap, then we can make it only Aves, Portimonense and us in the race. And we beat Aves 6-1 last season, so can we do it this season? Why not.
The boys are pumped, and I raised the bar, telling them in a team talk that we could do it. They seemed up for it, and the cup run, which has seen us go to the fifth round, has definitely raised morale. This is looking like a good time to be at Oriental, and we are one step closer to the first division, and overtaking the kings of Lisbon!
