Jozef: There is no need to apologise. Hope the holiday was good. It was really important that we beat Spurs and City...great confidence booster.

Pauker: Hmmm to be honest I am already regretting buying Ayew...he doesn't seem to be doing well and just complaining.

News is reaching us that Petr Cech has been ruled out for up to 2 months with a dislocated shoulder. It has come as a bitter blow to Chelsea who have relied on Cech the past 8 seasons and has come to rescue Chelsea on many an occasion. It is not 100% clear how the injury was sustained but rumours are coming out of Chelsea’s training ground that he was involved in a robust challenge from one of the young players. Unconfirmed reports are that Marko Marin, who was recently signed from Werder Bremen for a fee of £8.5 million, slid in to challenge for the ball during a training match. Straight away the head physio, Paco Biosca, tended to Cech but the worst has been confirmed.

The Chelsea management have confirmed that no action will be taken against Marin but instead it was just an unfortunate accident. The Chelsea manager Dennis Wise will now be looking towards Ross Turnbull who was signed 3 seasons ago on a free transfer from Middlesbrough. In the three full seasons he has been at the club he has only played four games so this is going to come as a great opportunity for him to get a lot of game time. Unfortunately for Chelsea the only other keeper that they have on the club roster at the moment is 17 year old Mitchell Beeney who will be expected to be backup to Turnbull.
:O, bad luck. A tip for all the people, don't depend of only 1 goalkeeper you need to have a backup goalkeeper with which you can trust and maybe a good young GK.
Waiting for another update :)
andrew98: I was absolutely gutted when I saw how long he was out for. I am worried about how Turnbull will do but maybe he will step up and make the most of this opportunity. And a good a bit of advice there for everyone :)

Chelsea had made a very good start on their journey to retain their Champions League title with a convincing win against 3 nil win against their toughest competition in their group, Schalke. Nobody would have expected them to find their second match of the tournament against French side Lille such a tough affair. Chelsea had been expected to go into the game and come away with another comfortable win and three more points on the board.

Chelsea found the match extremely difficult to control with them finding it hard to even get a touch of the ball for the majority of the match. The match ended up with Chelsea only having 35% possession which is reflected in the very few chances that the team created. Dennis Wise has expressed his annoyance at the team’s “apparent inability to make a pass.” He stated that he was pleased that the team managed to get a goal to win the game but did refuse to agree that his team was lucky to come away with the three points. He did suggest that the team would have to improve greatly if they were going to go anywhere in the competition.
Damn, Lille doing the tiki take style! What's your plan with Courtois next season?
Pauker: We should have beaten Lille a lot more comfortably but we just couldn't convert the chances. To be honest I haven't looked at Courtois but I don't think Wise will extend Turnbull's contract so Courtois might have a part to play next season.

In two days time Chelsea will face Manchester United, at Old Trafford, in the third round of the Capital One Cup. It will be the first time that Dennis Wise will face Sir Alex Ferguson; however, they appear to have already come to blows over the transfer of Andre Schurrle who is currently playing at Bayer 04 Leverkusen.

News has reached us that Schurrle is unhappy at Leverkusen and is looking for a new challenge at a top European club. His unhappiness has become clear with confirmation from the German club’s manager stating that Schurrle has handed in a transfer request. Schurrle has expressed his annoyance at the club placing a £20 million plus price tag on him which he sees as a method of putting clubs off making a bid.

This does not seem to have put off both Wise and Ferguson with them both putting in bids for the attacking midfielder. Reportedly both bids are around the £20 million mark with the two bids having been accepted. The two clubs will now go head to head to get the players signature with both teams desperately trying to meet up with the player’s agent in order to discuss terms.

Schurrle has not made it clear to the media who his preferred choice would be but instead is open to all discussion teams that are interesting in signing him.
This will be interesting! I hope you get Schurrle
Pauker: Unfortunately it is just speculation. He wants to join but is asking for way too much in terms of wages. Can't see a deal being struck anytime soon.

Geoff Shreeves:Well first of all Dennis well done. That must be a very pleasing result so early on in the season?

Dennis Wise: Yeah everything just seemed to go according to plan. We set out with a game plan and it paid off.

Geoff Shreeves: How would you rate Ross Turnbull’s performance for the injured Petr Cech?

Dennis Wise: It was a very pleasing performance. Ross was told at the beginning of the season he would be expected to step in when needed and put in 100% and that is just what he did tonight.

Geoff Shreeves: Oscar came away with the man of the match award but I guess it could have been a number of your player couldn’t it?

Dennis Wise: Oscar’s performance was fantastic from start to finish. He is a player that has a very bright future ahead of him and he demonstrated tonight, against a very good Manchester United side, that he can perform to a very high standard. It was just a brilliant team performance that has seen us progress into the next round.

Geoff Shreeves: Is the Capital One Cup a competition that you will be taking seriously?

Dennis Wise: Oh absolutely. A club like Chelsea should be competing on all levels in every competition that we take part in. Yes it is a competition that will allow some of the youngsters to experience some first team action but they have to be able to step up to the mark. It is a competition that we haven’t won since 2007 so it would be great to have a long run in the tournament with the ambition to win it.

Geoff Shreeves: Now I have to ask but Chelsea and Manchester United have been in the news recently with rumours about a battle for the signature of Andre Schurrle. Is there any news on the situation you can share with us?

Dennis Wise: Ah well I have made it clear he is a player we have looked at but there is no news.

Geoff Shreeves: Has a bid been made?

Dennis Wise: We have spoken to the Leverkusen management but it has gone no further than that.

Geoff Shreeves: Thank you for your time Dennis.
Liking the style for games here. Some nice updates also cant wait to see how this goes eventually :P
wellsy1498: Thanks for taking the time out to catch up. I have actually started to enjoy the game and starting to be more confident writing in third person. I am looking forward to the rest of the season as we seem to have started so well.

Ayew Speaks Out

Andre Ayew has been seen as a panic buy by Chelsea with them signing him from Olympique de Marseille for £15 million. On transfer day there was a lot of business being done and the signing of Ayew was seen as Chelsea just wanting to be a part of it with no real interest having been shown in him prior to signing him. Ayew has been able to wear a Chelsea shirt on 6 appearances so far this season and has recently scored his first goal against Reading in a one nil win.

Ayew after the game shared his delight at scoring his first goal for the club and his hopes to score more. In a strange turn of events Ayew went from being on cloud nine to lashing out Dennis Wise, Chelsea’s manager accusing him of making errors in judgement in his team talks at half time and after the game. Despite the open criticism Ayew refused to expand on his negative views but said he hoped that the manager would change his approach in the future.
Ha! Damn you Ayew! I'd get him to sign a new contract without the 30% transfer fee!
