A decent win, and we did well to pull through with what was essentially a back-up side. Mark Wells, the 19 year old signed from Linfield scored his first goal for the club, as did Kazim Kazim, but unfortunately Jay Rodriguez and Maya Yoshida both went off injured.
We managed to beat my former club away from home. Graziano Pelle, one of my signings, scored for Boro, but Rickie Lambert doubled his tally, and Adam Lallana sealed the win late on.

A very, very disappointing draw. The officials were poor, and we would have won but for our two goals being disallowed.
*Strike-Through means disallowed goal
Rickie Lambert has been superb once again, having scored thrice this month despite only playing two games, which leaves him with an overall record of 6 goals in 7 League games. It would have been more if his goal against Q.P.R. had stood.
Lambert’s first against Middlesbrough was a great volley from 12 yards, but his second was even sweeter. A one-two with Mark Wells took him past one defender, and a deft cut inside took him past another, before he powered it in, past Jason Steele.
We're still on top, but Everton are close behind. It shows that smaller teams should never give up hope of a successful season.
