August: Dat Start

Ever been treated to a 9-goal thriller in your first match of the season? David Beckham has! Bayern Munich put 9 past SV Hovelhof in the First Round of the DFB Pokal, before cruising to a 1-0 win against Werder Bremen. They also clinched their second ever European Super Cup after a 1-0 win against AS Monaco.

Bremen 0 - 1 Bayern

DFB Pokal First Round

Hovelhof 0 - 9 Bayern

European Super Cup

Monaco 0 - 1 Bayern

FC Bayern Munich Player of the Month

Ademilson only showed signs of further improvement this season in his opening matches. The Brazilian scored 3 goals in 3 games, with a goal in Bayern's opening league match against Werder Bremen, another against Hovelhof in the DFB Pokal before helping his team to the European Super Cup with a marvelous strike against AS Monaco.

Player Worthy of a Mention

Erwan Jehanno kicked off his career at Bayern Munich splendidly with a hat trick against Hovelhof, and Bayern fans will be hoping that he will be an effective strike partner for Ademilson this season.
Jesus, 9-frickin'-0? :O Looks like the best possible start to a new season to me :D
Awesome run and it seems like an unbeaten season is on the horizon :P congrats on 100k views!!1

Holy shit!

David Beckham: From Hero to Zero has hit 100,000 VIEWS!

This is my first ever story and also FM Scout's first ever story to hit the 100,000 view mark and I am very proud of my work and I am ever so grateful to the readers that have helped me accomplished this.

When I started this story, I never imagined I could get so many views. I write this story only for fun and enjoyment and I still do. It's really pleasing to be able to garner so much interest from the people of this site by doing the two things I enjoy the most - Football Manager and writing.

With all of your support, I managed to first hit the 10,000 view counter, win FOUR Story of the Month polls (with this story), become the most viewed and most replied story on the site, hit the 50,000 view counter, and finally the 100,000 view counter. It has been a brilliant journey with David Beckham, but it would certainly not have been as brilliant without the help of the readers of this story.

Many have said that this is a great story, but in all honesty, it is YOU, who are reading this, that make this story great. Yes, you guys, the readers!

That's why I have decided to take the opportunity of my 100,000 views to thank every single guy who has supported, commented and read this story so far. I would also like to mention people like Krupesh (k1rups) who has been reading this story fervently and being a major supporter in recent months as well as readers who have been supporting this story since it's start in February like Jeremy (Pauker) and Arvind.

You guys are awesome. As I continue towards bringing this story and David Beckham to even more greatness, I hope every current reader also continue following the magnificent Beckham's exploits in the world of management.

And lastly - a very big, warm THANK YOU!

Onwards and upwards to 150,000 views!
Boo, I was expecting an update when I clicked this! :/
Congratulations on being the first FM13 story on site to hit a 100k!

Loan Watch: August 2020

5 promising youngsters left the Allianz Arena on loan to different teams this summer, and Bayern Munich's monthly loan watch will cover every single thing about these players and how they're doing at their temporary homes.

Eros Baldoni - Stade Rennais FC

Eros Baldoni was brought in by Rafa Benitez but the Italian has not quite got his predicted big break under David Beckham. With all the influx of new defenders, it meant that Baldoni was to leave on loan again, and the 21-year-old was sent to France in July.

The Italy Under-21 international was a loanee of AS Saint-Etienne last season and was the standout performer in a disappointing season for Les Verts, as they finished 12th. Baldoni finished the Ligue 1 season with 34 league appearances to his name, and he'll be looking to make much more of a mark in Stade Rennais than he did with Saint-Etienne.

It has been a decent debut month for Baldoni, making 4 Ligue 1 appearances throughout August, having forged a solid partnership with fellow central defender Luke DeVere. He made his debut for Stade Rennais in their first game of the season and helped them triumph over Marseille 2-0. He was also vital as Stade Rennais beat Standard in the Champions League Best Placed Playoff to qualify for the group stages.

Baldoni also started the rest of Stade Rennais' league games this month - and came face-to-face once again with old employers AS Saint-Etienne, who showed no mercy to their former player by beating Stade Rennais 2-1.

Federico - SK Rapid Wien

After a spell on loan in Italy with Fiorentina last season where he made only 5 appearances, Federico packed his bags again for Austria, where he will now ply his trade for the season with SK Rapid Wien.

The 17-year-old Spaniard is tipped to be a big star for Bayern Munich in the future, and the Austrians are more than enough to provide him with opportunities to prove himself.

Federico made 5 appearances in the Austrian Football Bundesliga this month and has really impressed the Rapid Wien higher-ups, and undoubtedly his coaches back at Bayern Munich and David Beckham as well.

Just watching him all month has made it obvious that Federico is too good for the Austrian league. Can his dazzling performances help bring Rapid Wien to glory this season?

Bahri Tuna - Manchester City

Surprisingly, Manchester City were among the clubs interested in signing starlet Bahri Tuna on loan. The Citizens eventually beat Roma to the signing of the German striker.

With City having gone from title challengers to a struggling, troubled club after finishing 10th and 8th in the previous two seasons, the Manchester side certainly needed a powerful front man to share the workload with 34-year-old veteran Edin Dzeko.

Tuna was brought in as a temporary solution and so far he has impressed in his first two Premier League appearances, although yet to score a goal.

Tuna was not present in the team when Aston Villa crushed City 4-2 in the opening game of the season, but made his debut the next match and helped his side to a 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest, who finished 2nd last season. He also played in the Second Round match of the Capital One Cup and starred as City crushed Gillingham 5-0.

He kept his place in the team as City beat Sunderland 2-0 in their next league match, and was an important presence on the pitch, roughing up the opposing defenders and presenting them with a serious threat to guard against.

Jean-Claude Marcelin - Everton

Jean-Claude Marcelin joins his fellow youth squad teammate Tuna in the Premier League, having been loaned to Everton.

A hefty sum for the Toffees, paying 3.1 million in total for the French youth's temporary services as they were desperate to get their man. The 18-year-old will be hoping to repay manager David Moyes' faith in him by powering Everton to a top-table finish.

Marcelin made only 1 appearance this month, starting the club's second Premier League game of the season against West Ham, impressing by scoring Merseyside club's first goal of the match. Everton eventually won 2-1.

He was also present in the squad as Everton narrowly beat Notts County 3-2 in the Capital One Cup Second Round, aiding his team's cause with his second Everton goal.

Seyhmus Seckin - Feyenoord

This month is only the beginning of the competition between Seyhmus Seckin and Feyenoord's current first-choice goalie, Lee Sung-Woon. Seckin made his Eredivisie debut against Heracles and kept a clean sheet as Feyenoord won 2-0. On the other hand, Lee started against RKC Waalwijk and FC Utrecht but was unable to keep a clean sheet in both matches.

The next month brings 4 matches for Feyenoord, who are playing in the Europa League this season, and both Seckin & Lee will be scrambling for places in the squads for every match they can.
