City and their players needed to respond today and they did do, a bad run of form, some unsettled players and slipping off the pace of the Premier League leaders meant a win was a must. City dominated the game from the first whistle to the last and three goals made it very comfortable for their fans. Bad news from the game is that Yaya Toure will miss 2-3 weeks.
Final Score – Manchester City 3 (Cavani 4, Clichy 25, De Rossi 90+1) Southampton 0
MOTM – Gael Clichy
Attendance – 46,840

City seemed to make hard work of what should have been an easy victory, when they took a two goal lead in the first half an hour many would have expected them to run up a cricket score but they didn’t and Maribor pulled one back before half time and it left City fans on edge for the rest of the game.
