Chris Kamara was understandably delighted after his Middlesbrough side unexpectedly beat Manchester United at The Riverside. Boro were sitting in 16th and United 9th before the game but United have dropped down to 12th, and Boro have gained 2 places in the league, reaching 14th. The game was even and neither side had really deserved to lose, but a poorly executed off-side trap cost them as David Carney was played on-side before launching a superb 20 yard strike into the bottom corner to give Boro the shock win. Kamara was over the moon in the post-match interview, giving all the praise to the team. " We were underdogs, but we went out there and won. It was a great team effort, and United were clearly gutted afterwards and so was Sir Alex [Ferguson] because he had nothing to blame on the officials, we just outperformed them". Ferguson will have cause to worry as he is in danger of losing his job, as United continue to struggle. Kamara has said that if the job became available there was no doubt that he would apply, but he is fully focused on his work at the Riverside for now.
