Spurs celebrate Sextuple!

Celebrations: Villas-Boas celebrates on the sidelines

It was a season to remember for Tottenham Hotspur fans, with Villas-Boas winning no less than 6 trophies during Tottenham's campaign - taking his trophy haul to 14 in 6 years. Added onto that, Spurs fans also got to watch their local rivals - Arsenal - fall from their perch with an all mighty thud after finishing their disastrous season in a sorry 19th place, meaning they'll be spending the next season stuck in the Championship.

Gutted: Arsenal will spend the next season in the Sky Bet Championship

Before the season begun, Villas-Boas spoke about how it would be 'near impossible' for Spurs to replicate their Champions League form from last year, which saw them go on to beat the likes of Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City, and end the season as eventual winners. The win saw Spurs lift a European trophy for the first time since 1984. It also meant that Tottenham had 2 more extra trophies up for grabs: The Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup.

Tottenham entered the season with a change to win 7 major trophies, they finished the season with 6.

Their first trophy was the Community Shield, which they won by demolishing a weakened Manchester United side, 4-0. A 2-1 Win over Wolfsburg went on to see them earn their second trophy of the season within a month, securing the Super Cup. By December 17th, Spurs had wrapped up their third of the campaign, overcoming Toronto FC and River Plate to lift the FIFA Club World Cup. So far, 3/3.

In January, a shock 3-2 defeat at the hands of Aston Villa in the third round saw Spurs drop out of the FA Cup. Despite leading 2-0, Spurs seemed to buckle under the pressure, it signified their second defeat all season - their first just several days before, against Hull City in the league.

Spurs, however, battled on. Securing a 4-1 win over Norwich in the Capital One Cup semi finals. The win saw Spurs enter their fourth Capital One Cup final appearance in as many years. The final would see Spurs pair up against Community Shield finalists Manchester United. The match finished 1-0 to Tottenham. The North London club had secured their fourth trophy of the season, and still had their sights on both the Premier and Champions League.

Fortress: Tottenham have won 51 out of 56 home games since moving to their new staidum.

A 5-3 defeat at the hands of French side Olympique Marseille at the Stade Velódrome looked set to end Tottenham's stay in the Champions League, if it weren't for the clubs superb home form. Since their move into New White Hart Lane last year, Spurs have played a total of 56 home games, winning 51 and drawing drawing 5. Their winning streak continued, beating the French side 4-0.

Spurs added their 5th after winning the Premier League with 3 games to go. So far, 5/6. Their last possible trophy was the Champions League. After seeing off United and Barcelona in the Quarter Finals and Semi's, Spur's had to face last year finalists again - Manchester City. Unlike last year, Spurs dominated the game - deservedly coming up as winners. Not only had they defended the Champions League - the second club to do so - they had secured their 6th trophy of the season.

The season saw Villas-Boas enter in to Tottenham's Hall of Fame, along side Legends Bill Nic and Danny Blanchflower.

Goal.com reporter, Greg Stobart spoke to Villas-Boas soon after Spurs completed the sextuple, but the Portuguese in no hurry to lap up the praise. Instead, choosing to praise his players

Captain Fantastics: Captain and Vice Captain (Sandro and Chirche?, right) helped Tottenham defend the Champions League (left)

"To be able to win 6 trophies is amazing. To be able to defend the Champions League is something I never thought i'd be able to achieve, but I have because of my players. Everyone that has played for Tottenham since I've been here as always given it their all. If anything, you should be speaking to them [the players]. It was down to them, not me. I gave them faith and told them what to do, they're the ones that put in all the hard work."

Villas-Boas has certainly set the bar high, but one even he knows he may never achieve again in his Managerial career.
Woah Nick, very detailed update! Great graphics and layout here as usual ;) Arsenal in the Championship.. wish we could say that IRL too haha. Congratulations on the 'sextuple', I'm sure there will be more trophies in the cabinet soon!
Great updates as usual and corngrats on the sextuple, keep up the good work! :)

PSG Consider Lloris Swoop

Au Revoir: Tottenham's long serving goalkeeper, Hugo Lloris, could be on his way out.

Oil rich Paris Saint-German are keeping tabs on Hugo Lloris' situation at Spurs, TalkSport can reveal.

The French champions are believed to be monitoring Lloris, whose contract is set to expire next year. PSG Owner, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, is hoping to add more French players to his squad, and see the Captain of the French National team a perfect addition.

Lloris is said to be keen on a switch to the Parc Des Prince, and Spurs are set to listen to any offers that the French Champions have to offer, however have made it clear that they will not sell for less than £20m.

Lloris arrived at Spurs in 2012, and has spent 6 years with the North London Club, making 205 league appearances, conceding 159 goals and keeping 69 clean sheets.
:o Don't let him go! He's a great keeper!

Hehe '69' clean sheets ;)
Tallery Thank you! I use GIMP to create them :)

Jeremy Yeah, eyebrows is still sniffing around Vlad

Pompey Thanks and haha, ikr :P

Josh That'd be amazing. Jack Wilshere, Ramsey etc would go to their feeder club - Manchester City ;) .

Jonte Cheers!

Josh You're right, he's great. However, he's 31 and I know Goalies tend to have a longer shelf-life, but he's only got a year left and already on 90k p/w and I really don't want to have to give him a bumper contract if he's going to be round a season or two longer. I also have ter Stegen who i believe can do just a good a job!!
I know you sell Hugo to PSG. Twat ;) :P
Lolris is bad anyways ;)
I love how in the 'Sextuple' update you specified in your picture caption which image was of Sandro + Chiriches and which image was of the Champions League trophy, as if we couldn't get that one ourselves :))
Jeremy YOU'RE A WHAT?! ;)

Denzy :(

Neal LOL, I only included them so that it would break up the text!!
Congratulations on the sextuple, an unbelievable achievement! :D

Spurs eye Butland

Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing up Jack Butland as a replacement for French Captain, Hugo Lloris, should the Frenchman leave New White Hart Lane. Lloris, 31, has been linked with a move to French Champions, PSG in recent weeks.

Villas-Boas is said to be keen to add the Englishman to his 25 man squad, and it is believed that the Portuguese boss has been long admired of the 6'4 ft giant.

Butland, 25, joined Stoke in 2012 from Birmingham City for a fee of £3.5m, and has since established himself as the Potter's goalkeeper after the sale of Asmir Begovic to AS Monaco in 2013. Stoke would allow Butland to leave should Spurs follow up their interest in the keeper.
Oooh Jack Butland! He's a great keeper Nick, get him!
Nice call on Butland, I'm sure he get's good :)
Butland could be a good keeper
