Butland Joins Tottenham.

We are delighted to announce that we have reached an agreement with Stoke City for the transfer of Butland for a fee of £3m.

Butland, 25, started his career with Birmingham City, rising through the ranks, making a total of 46 league appearances before eventually moving to Stoke City for a fee of £3.5m. The last 4 years have seen Jack become one of Stoke's most consistent players, making a total of 156 appearances in the last 4 years in all competitions, keeping 51 clean sheets.

Butland has also represented the England U21s on 19 occasions, as well as making his senior England Debut in 2012 against Italy. He has since gone on to win one more cap.

That is a bargain signing! :O
Great signing Nick! Butland's got some incredible stats and will be a great back-up to ter Stegen!

Two more set for Spurs Exit

Tottenham's Chairman, Daniel Levy (right) is close to selling two more Spurs players.

Tottenham Hotspur are set to let two more players leave, Metro can reveal.

Tottenham Hotspur's Head Coach, André Villas-Boas met with Tottenham's chairman, Daniel Levy, earlier last week to discuss potential transfers in the summer window.

Daniel Levy, 56, is the Chairman of Tottenham Hotspur and has been for the last 17 years. Levy replaced former Chairman, Sir Alan Sugar in Feburary 2001 after ENIC bought a controlling stake in the club. His time at Spurs has been very hit and miss, often putting business before football, and making some very rash decisions. His time as Spurs Chairman has seen him go through a succession of managers, including George Graham, Glenn Hoddle David Pleat, Martin Jol, Juande Ramos and Harry Redknapp.

According to an inside source, Villas-Boas has spoken to Levy, reiterating the fact that he would rather focus on bringing in youth players, with the Portuguese boss happy with most of his current playing squad. However, several names were given to Levy by Tottenham's Villas-Boas as players that he could look to sell.

Two of the players believed to be on the list included were Cameroonian defender, Nkoulou and Colombian striker, Jackson Martínez.

Set to leave: Martínez (left) and Nkoulou (right) are on their way out of White Hart Lane

Nkoulou moved to Spurs on Transfer Deadline Day in 2016 for a fee of £14.5m, potentially rising to £20m. He has failed to impress since his move, finding it difficult to recapture his form which subsequently saw him move to Barcelona.

N'Koulou began his career at Kadji Sports Academy in Douala. The same academy that produced the likes of Samuel Eto'o, Carlos Kameni, and Eric Djemba-Djemba. In late 2007, it was announced that he was acquired by the principality-based side AS Monaco FC. Four years after his move to AS Monaco, French Champions OM bought the center back for an undisclosed fee in 2011. His 4 years at Marsielle saw him make 109 league appearances, scoring a single goal and getting 2 assists. In 2015 he moved to Barcelona for £14.75m, where he stayed for a season before joining Tottenham.

It is believed that the Cameroonian is set to complete a switch to Real Madrid. The Center Backs agent, Jacky Garnier confirmed that he is in talks with Real Madrid, with Nicolas set to sign a 5 year contract. It is believed that Real Madrid will be acquiring Nkoulou for around £25m

Another set for the axe is fan favourite, Jackson Martínez. The Colombian striker signed a new contract last year, which saw him become one of Tottenham's highest earners, earning around £95k a week.

Martínez, who recently turned 31, could leave for as little as £5m, with Italian side Udinese set to finalize talks in the next couple of days.

He moved to Spurs from Portugese side FC Porto, where he had two impressive seasons, bagging 49 goals in 58 appearances. His move to North London cost Tottenham an initial fee of around £13m, but is believed to have risen to around £15m.

During his time at Spurs, he became one of the most leathal strikers in Europe, picking up two successive Premier League and Addidas European Golden Boot awards. He made 131 league appearances for Tottenham in 4 years, scoring 81 goals.

His last year at Spurs was tough for Martínez, with recent Serbian signing, Aleksander Mitrovic starting to find form for Spurs towards the end of the season. The Serb finished the season with 16 goals and 7 assists in 13 appearances across all competitions.
Great update Nick! Hopefully you'll get decent money for Martinez and Nkoulou!

AVB: Mitrovic can become the best in the league!

Villas Boas believes that Mitrovic can replicate Martínez's form

Tottenham Hotspur's head coach, André Villas-Boas believes that the sale of Martínez will not have any impact on Tottenham's upcoming season.

Martínez completed his £5m move to Udinese just a couple of days ago, which has left many fans scratching their heads as to whether Mitrovic will be good enough to lead the line for Tottenham in the upcoming season, and if not, who Villas-Boas could bring in to replace Martínez's scoring prowess. Several names being linked with Spurs include Manchester United's Danny Welbeck, Bayern Leverkusen's Castaignos and Sampandoria's Gabbiadini.

However, in a recent interview, Villas-Boas denied such rumours, claiming that he was happy with Mitrovic's progression, and firmly believes that he could go on to become one of the best strikers in the League.

"I'm not sure where they [the rumours] are coming from. I haven't spoken to the Chairman about Welbeck or bringing in any new strikers for that matter. I'm currently looking at improving one more area of the squad, but in terms of business, we won't be doing too much. I am very happy with my squad." The Portuguese boss confirmed.

Not interested: Welbeck (Left) and Gabbiadini (right) are not on AVB's radar.

"I have Robbie [Ridley] who I believe can make the step up. I think he will be a good back-up for us and he will learn a lot from Aleksandar [Mitrovic] who has progressed very well. Bermúdez is another who will also be contributing a lot this up coming season."

"Of course, I am always looking to add players if needed, but like I said, I am happy. Now we - Daniel and I - are looking towards the future. We want to bring in some younger players who we hope we can slowly blood into the first team."

Villas-Boas is certainly right about Mitrovic's impressive progression. The 24 year old Serbian grabbed 31 goals and 20 assists in 48 appearances last season.

He joined Tottenham in 2016 for £15m having impressed at Belgian side Anderlecht. He was bought in as a replacement for the outgoing Morata, who moved to A.C Milan for £28.5m. However, in his early stages, it seems as those Villas-Boas has got the better of the two deals, with the latter struggling to adapt to the Italian League.

There have also been rumours about Villas-Boas potentially signing a new contract extension. The Portuguese - who has a year left on his contract - has always confirmed he intends to leave when his contract expires, but it is believed that Levy will try and get André to sign a one year contract extension.

"I'm afraid you know as much as I do. I have not spoken to Daniel about any contracts. My current focus is solely on the upcoming season."
Loving this pal. Your updates are top! Not that I'm biased about the mighty Spurs or anything! ;) Best of luck for next season mate - lets win it all again!!!
GET WELBECK! xD
