vs
Ex Manchester United man played his part as super-sub for Nottingham Forest as The Reds came from behind to beat a spirited Schalke side on a very windy evening at The City Ground.
Things did not get off to a good start for Forest as Honduras Captain Victor Padilla seized on an error by Jamie Nightingale to score a well timed close range finish. Experianced midfielder Ahmed Ibrahim doubled Shalke's lead with a well time finish on the 6th minute.
Then though it was Shalke's turn to make an error as Darmian scored a simple finish but after 36 minutes Ibrahim added his second goal of the match with a placed shot from 16 yards out.
Striker Piter pulled one back for Forest a minute later with a good header from just inside the six yard box and then centre-back Morgan Thomas then equalised for Forest in the 45th minute and we went in 3-3, surely it couldn't get better than this first half..... But it did.
Padilla then added his second goal of the game with an accurate finish on 45 minutes. Experienced midfielder Ross Barkley, who was also bought on at the break then made it 4-4 with a close range finish in which it was timed impeccably.
Ibrahim then gave the lead back to Shalke with his third goal of the game by shooting in a free kick from 30 yards out on the 54th minute. Forest though have this never give up attitude and when Adam William made it 5-5 on the 69th minute Forest would have took a draw.
Piter though had other ideas and on the 74th minute he made it 6-5 to Forest with a placed shot they managed to hold on for a priceless but amazing victory.
The win sees Forest top there group with two matches to play because PSG drew with CSKA in Russia.
