I'm loving this mate! really well written, great signings, and a solid looking tactic! you're looking good for the season to come!
TodayAtTomorrow: Thanks :) Good to know you're enjoying it!
Some very good updates here :) Good signings too!

Pre-Season

A very good pre-season for us, playing some decent teams such as Manchester United, Roma and Gladbach. We only lost one game and that was to Sochaux-Montbé.

But, before I get onto the results, I'd like to introduce you to 4 new signings brought in since the last update!

Braga 2 - 1 Man United

Adnan Januzaj (4)
Felipe Pardo (21)
Raul Rusescu (39)

Sochaux-Montbé 2 - 1 Braga

Thomas Guerbert (12)
Quincy (17)
Jordan Ayew (61)

Gladbach 1 - 3 Braga

Julian Schieber (2)
Alan (52, 56)
Nuno André Coelho (73)

Penafiel 0 - 2 Braga

Quincy (18)
Éder (28)

Braga 2 - 2 AS Roma

Duda (33, 69)
Michel Bastos (41, 50)

We have a relatively easy run of games in the league to start off with but to continue in Europe, we must beat Belgian side Zulte Waregem in the play-off.

Lovely graphics and an amazing pre-season Jack. Nice work on taking down the mighty Manchester United, and earning a creditable draw against Roma. Good work! :)

3 Head Out Braga Door

New Braga manager Armando Azevedo has confirmed the departures of three of his players.

"Today I am confirming the departures of three of our players. One on a temporary basis but two permanently. The first to leave is our center midfielder Luiz Carlos. Since the new players joined we had gone over the amount of over 19's allowed in the registration and I saw that Luiz Carlos was surplus to requirements here and we got a decent fee and wish him all the best at his new club, Lokomotiv Moscow. Carlos left for £850,000"

"The second the depart Braga is Rúben Micael who joins Ligue 1 side FC Lorient for £4,000,000. Micael was a fantastic player for us last season when he signed on a free transfer and he will continue to be but our formation will not fit in with his position or style of play. We wish him the best of luck at Lorient"

"Finally, our back-up goalkeeper, Cristiano leaves temporarily on loan to fellow Portuguese side Farense who play in the Second League. He isn't going to play much this season with Eduardo being loaned in and the only way he can improve this season is by going on loan and getting first team football which is available at Farense"

A very good pre-season mate and a very good piece of business with Ruben Micael!
Josh: Thanks, hopefully I can carry it on in the league :)

AAN: Thanks, it's funded both loan moves of Antonelli and Briand!

August Update

A very rough month in terms of league performances and find ourselves 12th in the league after 1 draw and a loss in the two games. In terms of Europe, we hammered Belgian side Zulte Waregem 3-0 both home and away with goals from Custódio, Éder and Afonso Alves and due to winning the play-offs we found ourselves in Group K:

So, onto the results:

Marítimo 2 - 0 Braga

Fidélis (3)
Duda (own goal) (89)

Zulte Waregem 0 - 3 Braga

Custódio (9)
Afonso Alves (52, 73)

Braga 2 - 2 Vitória Guimarães

Moreno (58)
Leonel Olímpio (71)

Custódio (84)
Raul Rusesco (90+1)

Braga 3 - 0 Zulte Waregem

Éder (1)
Afonso Alves (3, 64)

We have quite a tough month ahead of us in September especially the Porto game at the end of the month but hopefully the squad will gel together by then and we can start picking up serious amounts of points.

Player of the Month

Afonso Alves

Although not playing in the league in August (which may have been a factor of the poor performances) he practically got us through the play-offs against Zulte Waregem single-handed by scoring 4 goals in the two matches, picking up an average rating of 9.00.

Going to be missed when he leaves or retires! Good results (except the Maritimo one)!

he will, defininitely. I'm counting the Maritimo result as a team bonding game though :P

We'll Compete in Europe - Azevedo

S.C. Braga manager Armando Azevedo has said he will be doing his best to motivate his Braga side all the way in the Europa League this season.

"We're outsiders. The players know that. We've had a rough start to the league campaign but that will improve, we looked brilliant against Zulte Waregem in both legs and hopefully that can continue into our first group stage game against Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk in Group K later this month. We've got a reasonably easy group, Dnipro seem to be the only contenders with us. Wigan play in the second tier of English football and fair play to Zeljeznicar for qualifying for the Champions League but they lost to Partizan Belgrade. We're looking to go all the way to the final, I believe we can do that, but do the players? I'll be getting them as fired up for these games as much as I can because these are very important games, not because of the financial reward, but because it will live by the fans and players, and me if we do win it. It's great for confidence." said Azevedo on the Europa League.

The group stage consists of 6 matches, Braga's order of matches will go:

Braga vs Dnipro

Wigan vs Braga

Braga vs Zeljeznicar

Zeljesnicar vs Braga

Dnipro vs Braga

Braga vs Wigan

September Update

What an improvement! I knew that at some point my signings will finally gel and it seems that this month they finally have! Ok, so we lost in Europe but that was against a very strong team and we did outplay them for most of the game but our league form has been unbeaten since the 2-2 draw with Guimaraes so that is something to be proud of. Afonso Alves has again been on top form this month.

So, lets get onto the results:

Arouca 1 - 1 Braga

Luca Antonelli (84)
Rui Sampaio (87)

Vitória Setúbal 2 - 3 Braga

Alan (52)
Afonso Alves (54)

Tiago Terroso (56)
Wilder Cartagena (pen 62)

Éder (73)

Braga 0 - 1 Dnipro

Bruno Gama (75)

Braga 3 - 0 Académica

Afonso Alves (4, 5, 82)

Braga 3 - 0 FC Porto

Nuno André Coelho (2)
Kadu (13)
Éder (46)

We have a relatively easy October month ahead of us with two of the easy teams in our Europa League group facing us and some average league sides and a very easy draw in the Taca de Portugal 3rd round against National Championship - C side Lourinhanense.

This month I also claimed 3rd place in September Manager of the Month with Benfica's Jorge Jesus and Pacos Ferreira's Henrique Calisto finishing 1st and 2nd.

Player of the Month

Afonso Alves

Afonso Alves is once again our player of the month with solid performances in every game this month and bagging 4 goals. He certainly is one of our best assets at the moment.

Very impressive update Jack! Some good wins but a tough loss against Dnipro. But apart from that, a very good month, especially that win against Porto!
A very good month mate!
