Josh: Thanks! I wasn't expecting much from the Dnipro game but this month has definitely been an improvement.

AAN: A definite improvement, thanks :)
I'm really enjoying this story Jack, it has me hooked! A much better month in terms of results from the previous! Keep up the good work mate :)
BantamsBanter: Thanks mate, means a lot :)

I'll find a place for Tiago - Azevedo

Following his £500,000 move over the border from Spain to Portugal, Tiago hasn't made much of an impact as many expected. Many are annoyed that manager Armando Azevedo spent so much on a player that he isn't using but Azevedo insists that Tiago will get his chance soon.

"I know many are complaining about my transfer movement for our new central midfielder Tiago and how much I spent on him.
My argument for this is that the team have been playing so well recently and I think it would hurt the morale of the squad if I suddenly started putting new faces in for those who deserve their starting spot.
Fans know how well Custódio and Diarra are playing these past few games, they've been solid with Custódio chipping in with a few goals at times. Diarra has been playing brilliantly defensively and setting up the game from his own half, as is Custódio.
Tiago will get his chance, he definitely will and he will perform well, I promise you all but until one of the current midfielders are on a bad run of form or low on confidence or fitness the squad will be staying practically the same"
Some fine results and really detailed updates!
Hope you keep up the form and all the best :D

Post-Match: Braga 1 - 2 Zeljeznicar

In the dressing room

Azevedo: What the fuck was that?! What the fuck did I just see?! Huh?! Did I just witness that?! You LOST to a team from BOSNIA. BOSNIA. The only footballing talent there is Edin Dzeko, and he's nothing fucking special is he?! But I bet he'd put a better shift in than you did tonight! Do you even know how much a Europa League ticket costs? Do you have any idea? €90 per person!

Paulo Vinícius: That's nothing boss?

Azevedo: YOU WHAT?! "That's nothing"?! I'll tell you what's nothing, the effort you lot put in tonight! You lot on first-class wages may think that's nothing but being a fan of this club, I struggled to afford friendly tickets! Now, forget tickets. What was up with you lot?

[Silence]

Azevedo: Now, I've had my rant now, we go again against these lot next time, in Bosnia and we play our hearts out yeah?

Squad: [mumbling] Yes boss...

Azevedo: Now, I'm gonna have to justify that performance in the press now. Anyone got any suggestions as to what I say?

Duda (Captain): Boss, I'll do the press conference with you. You can't take any the stick for that shambles. We should. Am I right boys?

Squad: Yeah Duda...

Azevedo: Right the coach leaves at 12 o'clock. Miss it, tough.
Not a good result at all mate...
Great update! You really let it loose in the changing rooms!

'The only footballing talent there is Edin Dzeko, and he's nothing fucking special is he?!'

BEST.QUOTE.EVER. xD

My 800th post goes to you Jack!
AS4: Thanks :)

AAN: Very poor indeed :/

Josh: Got to let them know ;)

October Update

A good start followed by a poor finish is the best explanation for October. We got a decent result against Wigan and things were looking up, especially when we won 7-0 in the Taca de Portugal but it went a little downhill against Zeljeznicar and Nacional de Madeira as you may know from my dressing room outrage. But we won more than lost so at least that is a positive!

Onto the results:

Wigan Athletic 0 - 2 Braga

Duda (9)
Éder (26)

Rio Ave 1 - 3 Braga

Éder (32, 76, 85)
Ronny (61)

Braga 7 - 0 Lourinhanense

Afonso Alves (7, 10)
Nuno André Coelho (17)
Éder (20, 75)
Jimmy Briand (59)
Duda (64)

Braga 1 - 2 Zeljeznicar

Admir Sadic (6)
Afonso Alves (25)
Nermin Ceric (83)

Braga 1 - 2 Nacional de Madeira

Kadu (own goal) (5)
Afonso Alves (45)
Miguel Rodrigues (83)

We have a tough first game against SL Benfica in November so to be them will be huge. We also play Zeljesnicar again so hopefully the players will actually turn up this time! Apart from Dnipro at the end of the month we have some relatively easy fixtures ahead of us against Arouca (13th) and Olhanense (5th).

Éder came second in Player of the Month in October following 6 goals in all competitions this month, 3 in the league. Éder is also our Player of the Month for November.

Others in the running was Marcos Júnior from Vitória Setúbal who was 3rd and Benfica's Eduardo Salvio who won the Player of the Month.

Quincy Unsettled At Braga

New signing Quincy Owuso-Abeyie has admitted to the press that he is taking a few weeks away from Portugal to help his home-sickness recover.

Quincy has not appeared for S.C. Braga since the game against Académica on the 22nd of September and this news gives a reasoning for this.

"Quincy is going to spend some time back in Greece where he spent 3 years at Panathinaikos. Most of his family live there after failing to locate themselves somewhere around the town of Braga. He played in a few pre-season games for us and he did really well so yes, we will miss him a bit but my players being happy is my priority. If they aren't happy, you might as well give up"

Quincy first appeared in a Braga shirt whilst on trial against Ligue 1 side FC Sochaux-Montbé where he scored his first goal. He added his second against Portuguese Second League side Penafiel in a 2-0 win but hasn't had much of an impact since then.
Great set of updates. Really good month except the loss in the Europa League. As for Quincy, hopefully he'll recover and perform well for you.

Thanks, I've got a replacement lined up for Quincy if he never settles down

November Update

A fantastic month for us, going unbeaten throughout the whole month and deserving that status. We started the month off in brilliant fashion with a 5-0 demolition job of supposed favourites SL Benfica. We definitely taught them a lesson in football. We played the Azevedo way as I like to call it! The rest of the month was also great with some brilliant attacking and passing football football from my Braga.

So, onto the results!:

Braga 5 - 0 SL Benfica

Duda (38, pen 50)
Mahamadou Diarra (47)
Éder (56)
Kadu (74)

Zeljeznicar 0 - 1 Braga

Duda (80)

Arouca 0 - 3e Braga

Raul Rusescu (113, 116)
Afonso Alves (118)

Olhanense 1 - 3 Braga

Jimmy Briand (20)
Afonso Alves (49)

Eduardo (Own Goal) (50)
Agdon (75)

Dnipro 1 - 1 Braga

Nikola Kalinic (33)
Afonso Alves (83)

Braga 1 - 0 Belenenses

Afonso Alves (59)

I claimed Manager of the Month for November after managing 2 wins in 2 games in the League as well as decent performances in the cups.

Next month we have our last group stage match in the Europa League against Wigan which is a must-win match for us with me, Wigan and Zeljeznicar being on the same points and Dnipro already qualified for the knockout rounds. We also play Pacos de Ferreira who are on a surprisingly good run of form in the league so far and topped the table for quite a while as well so that will be a tough match. The others seem quite easily but all teams near the top are vulnerable to complacency which is a worry that I'm hoping we'll overcome.

Two of our players managed to get in the top 3 players of the month. Duda managed to grab second place while on-loan Jimmy Briand held onto 3rd spot after some consistent performances throughout November. FC Porto's Jackson Martínez won the award. Duda is also S.C. Braga's Player of the Month for November.

Thats a good month there mate, some tough games next month, but I reckon you can do it :)
