2014-06-05 02:50#178514 Pauker : Looks good already, needs some strength, but he can become a WC player

Thanks Pauk, strength seems to be the only real major concern, but other than that hopefully he grows into a fine player :D

December: Another Go

Oriental begun the second half of their season

December Results

Topsy-turvy would be the best way to describe this month. We began with a difficult trip to Portimonense, who are one of the toughest sides in the competition. We defended strongly, before Figo hit the winner in the 77th minute!

Ac. Viseu toppled us in a high scoring encounter. Conceding five in a game is pretty abysmal but on the other hand scoring three is a positive and a trend we'd like to continue. First, I'd like to tighten up at the back.

Next up was Beira-Mar, who are always going to be tough opposition. A 2-0 loss is a bit disappointing but I'm not too disheartened. However, we reversed this result against Trofense with a 2-0 away win.

The month ended with a narrow, albeit important win over relegation-threatened Vizela. A bigger win would've been nice but I'm just glad we got the three points.

League Table

Position: 5th

Despite those two setbacks in the middle of the month, we came away sitting in fifth place! Higher than ever before. Mind you, this could all change if Farense win but I'm sure we will be able to maintain this form. Confidence is high and we're playing well.

The Month Ahead

It's quite a difficult month ahead. We have fellow Liga Revoluçao outfit Feirense in the cup and then we make the short journey to play fellow Lisbon-ites Sporting (B). An away trip to an out of form Tondela could be a chance for three points and so could our home match against Santa Clara. The month is finished off when Porto-based side Leixões come to the 'Carlos Salema.
Good month Walter, you gave Ac. Viseu a right good game! Also you're doing great in the league, let's hope Farense lose!

It was a shame because we beat them 3-2 on home soil, but you win some you lose some I guess :/ Thanks for the comment :)
it is only 3 points from 3rd place walter and always look forward :)

January: A Happy New Year?

January Results

Our Taça de Portugal clash with Feirense was our first fixture of the new year. Our Second League opponents narrowly edged us in a narrow enounter at our home pitch. Then it was our turn to be hosted as Sporting (B) gave us a test. We came away with another narrow result, but this time we were on the winning side.

We only just pipped Tondela - a disappointing result despite getting the three points, to be honest. Tondela hadn't won in six games prior to the match and we only just about scraped through - not good. The only reason we were saved was because of a fantastic effort from Figo.

Again, we got the win versus Santa Clara, a relegation-threatened side, but it was a close fought battle. Luckily we just about outplayed and outscored our opponents otherwise it would've been an embarassing defeat. This time, the difference was a late goalkeeping blunder which sent striker Balack through on goal.

I guess seeing as we only just scraped past much poorer opposition a defeat was coming. We were poor against Leixões and in all honesty we deserved the defeat. I think it can serve as a wake up call to us to finish the remainder of the season strongly.

League Table

Position: 3rd

We're high flying in third place! Despite the blip against Leixões we still retain a positive position and now it is a chasing game in regards to keeping up with Académica and União Madeira. I'm positive the boys will see where we are and give it their all in a desperate attempt for this outside push for promotion!

NOTE: The table is out of 22 teams, so there is still 10 games to play! Sorry for confusion
4 matches... 6 points off 2nd place. CAN. YOU. DO IT?

Definitely have a chance of promotion if luck is on your side and keep getting points!

Pauker It's gonna be tight, but I have faith we can sneak in! *10 games to go btw ;)

Zapdos Yep, we just need that to happen now, thanks for reading!

February: Short And Sharp

Who Were We Facing?

The fixture list for February sees us face a relatively tough month. We start off at Braga B, before travelling to the island of Madeira to face high-flying União Madeira. The month finished at home in Lisbon, but to tough opposition in Rio Ave.

February Results

The result against Braga B was a great one. We had a long way to travel and we kept a valuable clean sheet and got three points to keep our promotion assault alive. Over the next two games but it would be put to the test.

We succumbed to defeat at União Madeira. We went 1-0 down unluckily. It was still the same score until the 90th minute, when they put the nail in the coffin.

That loss would go down as a disappointment but we recovered in spectacular fashion, upsetting the odds in beating Rio Ave in front of our own fans!!

League Table

Position: 4th

After the loss in the middle of the short month, we couldn't expect all other results to go our way so it is no surprise that we've dropped below Portimonense. Still, we hope to bounce back next month and get as many points from our last seven fixtures as we can!

By the way, I holidayed one game this month. Meaning my assistant manager won Manager of the Month because he won his only fricking game in charge -___-

great stuff, walt! promotion is a real possibility now
