February- Perfection

http://s40.photobucket.com/user/fzemdegs/media/Untitled_zps7bdb52b3.png.html

We were unstoppable in February and even toppled the Jets

Possibly my best month in charge of Sydney FC ever, we won all 4 games, didn't concede a goal, and as a result climbed back on top with a phenomenal goal difference. Let's have a closer look at the great 4 weeks of football.

Results

The first game of the month was the Big Blue against Melbourne Victory, and it was another controversial affair as we won through a penalty coolly taken by Milos Dimitrijevic. Final score, 1-0.

The next game was an absolutely huge spectacle against Newcastle Jets. The result of this game would go a long way to securing the title, and we came out on top. Dani De Silva and Milos Dimitrijevic scored but it was Rhyan Grant that ran the show with 2 assists. Final score 2-0.

Brisbane Roar was another huge match, and if we won we would jump to the top of the table. Joel Chianese gave us an invaluable early lead, and then doubled it just after half time to give us a 2-0 win, and first place in the league.

The final game of the month was crucial to put some distance between us and the Jets, but it took a while to defeat Melbourne Heart. Eventually substitute Pedj Bojic drifted in for a wonderful goal in the 84th minute to give us a 1-0 win.

So after that perfect month of football, we have now qualified for the finals and sit on top! Now with just 6 games to go we have to continue the form and give us that title!

Player Of The Month

Milos Dimitrijevic was amazing in his box-to-box midfielder role, kicking 2 goals and setting up 1 as the machine of the side.
sad to see my loved brisbane roar so shit
Ipswich Yeah without Berisha they've struggled. Broich and McKay are getting old too

Sydney Secure Finals Berth

A late goal from Pedj Bojic saw Sydney FC qualify for the Final Series with 6 games to spare. The 1-0 win over Melbourne Heart means the Sky Blues have now picked up 45 points which is easily enough to make the cut.

The marauding Sky Blues will not be relaxing now however, as the title race seems to be going down to the wire with the Newcastle Jets. After a relentless chase by Sydney, it is now the Jet's turn to chase and both teams will be determined not to drop points. Whatever the outcome, both the regular season and the finals are sure to be an exciting contest as the season heats up.

yeah but no matter what i can always say i was tat the greatest comeback ever vs central coast grand fainl 2011 wil never forgot the noise when we scored right at the death
Nice work mate, sitting pretty at the top of the table. If you can make it your own there is a strong chance you might be getting poached for a new job from a better league again...

Good luck :)
Ipswich Haha true

Ziechael Thanks, although the A-League reputation has dropped quite dramatically :/

Lodovico Reaches 100 Games In Style

http://s40.photobucket.com/user/fzemdegs/media/d30b531c-88d2-4186-8789-ac3b644249c8_zps06676c41.png.html

Sean-Paul Lodovico celebrated his 100th game in management with a huge win, as his team's 2-0 win over Brisbane Roar sees them jump to the top of the table with just 7 games to go.

Buoyed by the news of a crushing 3-0 defeat for the Jets, the Sky Blues were confident in attack and created multiple chances. Eventually Joel Chianese scored before doubling his tally in the second half. The 2-0 win sees Sydney hold a 2 point lead over the Jets, and their scintalliting form is sure to continue to the end of the season.

Lodovico let his emotions show, and he was on the brink of tears following Chianese's second goal. The 29 year old, so accustomed to failure after a Grand Final loss and relegation, must be cherishing in the fact that his team is on track to win the league- and they started the run with his 100th game.
A great way to celebrate 100 games!
Justice It is indeed :D
Well done on reaching 100 games Feliks!
Nice update, do you think the players secretly won it for you? ;)
Josh Thanks Josh :)

Walter Haha probably not, it was a fairly straightforward game against some easy opposition :))

March- Bumpy Road

http://s40.photobucket.com/user/fzemdegs/media/Untitled_zpsdcee4d5a.png.html

The nerves got to us, and we ended the month with 2 horrible losses

It was smooth sailing once more in the start of March, but we fell over quite catastrophically at the end and jeopardised the title. Let's examine the month in detail.

First up was the formidable Central Coast Mariners, and it was a nervous game for us. We got off to a perfect start with goals to MacDonald and Chianese in the first 25 minutes, and when Liam Rose put it into his own net after half time the score was 3-0. But Kim Seung-Yong kept fighting for the Mariners scoring in the 70th and 92nd minute to give us a bit of a scare. However, the final score was 3-2.

The big Sydney Derby against Wanderers FC was next, and it was a very even contest until the latter stages. Pedj Bojic came on and score a beautiful angled goal in the 83rd minute to give us a 1-0 win.

We travelled across the country to play Perth Glory, and although we created some great chances we couldn't capitalise. Alex Brosque made us pay for it with a goal for Perth in the 80th minute, and our dream run was over. 1-0 loss.

The final game of the month was the trip across the ditch to face Wellington Phoenix, and we were extremely lucky not to go 1-0 down early. Sebastian Usai saved a penalty, but just 3 minutes later we went down anyway. Another loss, 1-0.

League Table

So very close to securing the title, if we win our next game it's secured!

From first glance, Sebastian Usai doesn't look to have had the best month but despite conceding 4 goals he was great in goals, stopping us from conceding far, far more.
