After a bit of a scare, we brought the trophy to the fans
With only 2 games in April, it was imperative that we win both and seal the deal, which we did. Here's a look at the final month of regular season action.

Our chance to get back on track was against Adelaide United, and Josh MacDonald score early to give us a great start. However, Nikola Petkovic picked up a red just before half time leaving us vulnerable. Joel Chianese managed to score regardless and we held the lead, winning 2-0.
With the league wrapped up, the game against Melbourne Victory had essentially no meaning, but we got the job done nonetheless. Early goals from Jack Batten and Joel Chianese gave us the lead, and despite a Victory goal after half time we held on to win 2-1.

So there we go. The season is over, and a remarkable run of form means we are the champions!!!!!!!
Joel Chianese scored in both games, helping us post the 2 victories and continuing his great form as the fill-in trequartista.

Daniel Batty, one of New Zealand's most promising youth players, has signed with A-League premiers Sydney FC. The 19 year old, who stands at an impressive 194 cm, will move from Auckland City on the 1st of July 2017.
Already capped by New Zealand, Batty is one of the country's most lethal strikers, and towering figure has been terrorising opposition defenders for over 3 seasons. At 19, he has phenomenal aerial ability to rival the best in Europe, whilst he is also a calm finisher and an incredible threat from corners. At just 19 he is expected to dominate the A-League, and one must wonder just how far this kid can go.
Batty's signing has come at an optimum time for the Sky Blues, with their captain and legend Emile Heskey retiring at the end of the season. Batty will slot in immediately as the new target man and will have a big role in the first team. Whether or not he stays for the long haul is another question, as Europe is surely beckoning for this wonderkid.

One of the A-League's biggest games of all time is set to go down on Saturday night, when a sold out Allianz Stadium will see Sydney FC and Melbourne Victory battle for a spot in the Grand Final. The Big Blue, as the game between these 2 teams is called, is about to see it's biggest instalment in a do-or-die clash.
Sydney FC, as the league winners, are favourites at home for this game but the Melbourne Victory are in tantalising form. Only the Sky Blues stopped their run in Round 27, and after dispatching Perth in the elimination final they will be hungry for more. Meanwhile Sydney FC were incredible in the season, chasing down and eventually passing the Newcastle Jets to win the title. They will also be hungry for more, searching for that elusive double.
Sydney FC will go into the game without Daniel De Silva and Joel Chianese, 2 bitter blows. Chianese, the leading goalscorer, will not be missed too badly as injury-plagued Ander Bergara will replace him. Meanwhile Terry Antonis has been tasked with filling the huge gap that De Silva has left. Meanwhile Victory have been hit hard, with Besart Berisha, Mark Milligan, Leigh Broxham, Adama Traore and Celestin Djim all missing through injury. Manager Mike Mulvey will be hoping the depth can save the day on Saturday.
In what should be a tight encounter, the juggernaut that is Sydney FC is my pick. The injuries for Melbourne Victory put them at a serious disadvantage, and the workrate of the Sky Blues should run over the top of them. The return of Bergara is another big boost to Sydney and I predict a 2-0 win in their favour.
