A difficult month for Dortmund, but with the injury problems, this can be forgiven :P
Good to see Atletico find some form though, keep up the class updates Neal! ;)
Great month for Atletico but things don't seem to be working out for Dortmund; so true to the real world. I am sure that Laudrup will be able to turn things around before too long.
Tallery: I'm Brian is very sorry, he'll step it up soon :P

Walter: Thanks Walt, it was tough with Dortmund missing so many star players. It's going well with Atletico, though, so there's a positive :D

pompeyblue: Well, understandable, if not forgivable. Thanks Josh :P

Jamesg237: Sadly yes, we've got the same form as real-life Dortmund in the Bundesliga right now. Hopefully we can step it up, and fingers crossed Klopp can manage the same in the real world!

MILOS JOJIC SIGNS NEW FIVE YEAR CONTRACT WITH BORUSSIA DORTMUND

  • Young midfield playmaker given long term deal at Signal Iduna Park
  • 22 year old enjoying excellent second season with German giants
  • Serbian midfielder considered one of the next big talents out of Dortmund

  • Milos Jojic has been one of the biggest bright spots of the season so far for Borussia Dortmund. Despite an up-and-down start results-wise, der BVB have looked a very good attacking threat under Brian Laudrup's management, and that has been heavily due to the influence of Milos Jojic in central midfield.

The Serbian central midfielder broke onto the scene at Teleoptik in the 2011-2012 season, scoring 10 goals in 30 appearances in the Serbian second division. He then transferred to Partizan Belgrade, where he continued his fine goalscoring form from midfield, earning himself a transfer to Borussia Dortmund in January of 2014.

After making a name for himself in the Serbian league with Partizan, Milos Jojic earned himself a €2.3M tranfer to Borussia Dortmund.

He enjoyed an excellent start to his Dortmund career, scoring 4 goals in his first 10 Bundesliga appearances as a 21 year old, immediately endearing himself to the Signal Iduna Park faithful. With Nuri Sahin and Ilkay Gundogan both injured at the start of this season, he was thrust into the starting lineup and has scored twice and assisted thrice so far this year.

"I am enjoying my time here at Dortmund a lot," told Jojic at the press conference following his new contract. "I have a very good relationship with Brian, and it is very good to have played a lot this season. I want to stay here a long time."

Fans will hope that this positive news will help motivate the team to perform vastly superior to last month where they managed to win only one in five matches, buoyed on by not only this signing but the return of a few players from injury. They kick off November with a home match against Bayer Leverkusen.

    November Report

So this is officially a perfectly normal monthly update, I have all the screenshots, etc., but I feel weird starting one without a little introductory spiel, so here I am real quick before we get to the good stuff.

After October's heart-wrenching results of one win in five matches, Borussia Dortmund seem to have finally found their step under Brian Laudrup. Five wins in six games in November, including a thumping of Arsenal and a Revier Derby victory, have certainly won over the fans at Signal Iduna Park, and many are hoping that this form can continue.

It all began with the hammering of Bayer Leverkusen. Ilkay Gundogan, finally looking 100% recovered from his long term injury from the summer, dominated proceedings from midfield, pulling all the strings. Marco Reus and Henrikh Mkhitaryan did their usual damage up front, and Bayer simply could not cope with the rampancy of the assault.

The next big match was against Schalke 04 in the Revier Derby. A historic rivalry between two of Germany's perennial contenders (if trailing Bayern by double digits can be called contending), it was always going to be very a difficult fixture at the VELTINS-Arena. Marco Reus took control of the fixture, though, scoring twice in the first half to seal a smash and grab victory.

To make things even better, Jens Keller was sacked the next day and replaced by Roberto Mancini!

The next match was even better for fans of der BVB. With Arsenal coming to town in a crucial Champions League fixture, Laudrup and his men handed the English side their asses and sent them whimpering back to London with a 5-2 shocker. Despite going down 2-0 in the first twenty minutes, Matthias Ginter's first goal for the club and a voracious second half display completed one of the comebacks of the season so far.

Though the Borussen derby didn't quite go to plan, overall the month of November has been considered a monumental success for the club, and any doubts surrounding Brian Laudrup's future have been dispelled, for now at least.

ATLETICO MADRID 3-0 CORDOBA (LA LIGA)
Angel Correa, Guilherme Siqueira (pen), Alessio Cerci

ZENIT ST. PETERSBURG 1-2 ATLETICO MADRID (CHAMPIONS LEAGUE)
    Saul, Koke

REAL SOCIEDAD 1-2 ATLETICO MADRID (LA LIGA)
    Arda Turan, Diego Godin

ATLETICO MADRID 3-2 MALAGA (LA LIGA)
Arda Turan, Mattia Destro, Antoine Greizmann

AJAX 0-2 ATLETICO MADRID (CHAMPIONS LEAGUE)
    Raul Garcia (x2)

ATLETICO MADRID 4-0 DEPORTIVO (LA LIGA)
Koke (x2), Raul Garcia, Antoine Griezmann

It was an inch-perfect month for Michael Laudrup and his Atletico Madrid side as they won all six matches in November, taking a sealing first place in their UEFA Champions League group and keeping pace with their rivals, Barcelona and Real Madrid, in the race for La Liga.

There were no seriously difficult games this month, giving Los Colchoneros to really get a winning run going without a big challenge and getting the momentum and morale up. The team scored 16 goals in those 6 games and leads both their group and La Liga BBVA in goals scored, outfiring even Los Galacticos y La Blaugrana.

A problem has emerged this month, though, despite the onslaught of goals; the strikers simply aren't scoring. Mattia Destro's volley against Malaga was the only goal that a striker scored in all six of the matches. Mattia Destro and Mario Mandzukic have both lost their early season form, while Mexican forward Raul Jimenez seems to be utterly out of favor with his Danish boss.

The positives certainly outweigh the negatives, however. Midfielders have stepped up to score goals, and the defense managed to keep three clean sheets after a very leaky time of it during the first two months. If this run of form can continue, the Mattress-Makers could mount a very serious challenge in every competition.
