Jack - Tenerife will be in Feb, long wait of anticipation for that

Up's and down's

A big month again for us as we attempt to survive at the top of the league as well as push forward in a few cup competitions, including the FA cup and the League cup, which we're so close to the final of now. However, we have a few little deals to show off first, nothing major, fairly reflective of real life January to be honest, but very good moves nonetheless.

Transfers!

A solid little youth signing here, Scully looks to serve as a younger understudy to Krasniqi and effectively replacing Just Sasa as he ages past his best. As you'll see he's come into the team and played very well, having some valuable game time across the month of January

Sainrimat is off to get some top experience at a relegation battling club, hopefully the confidence boost of first team football and potentially saving a faltering team from relegation could really bring the best out of the lad. I expect he'll be back next season with a chance to really get going.

The business part

A routine win in the 3rd round of the FA Cup over a lower league Bournemouth side, Scully got his first run out off the bench and had a stormer, scoring 2 for us and playing very well. Lawson claimed MOTM after a range of assists, still hungry to continue his great form after claiming the European Golden Boy award.

Another cup game, another win, we managed to run out with a comfortable win over Everton as we look to progress onto another League cup final. Masawudu had a stormer as usual as Everton gave away 2 penalties late on to make this result very easy on the eye.

It took a late late Otsuki goal to get us the win over Forest after I subbed him on for Ibrahim. Forest's keeper got MOTM which definitely tells you a story about this game, but a win's a win, and we have Otsuki to be thankful for that.

Unfortunate to be honest, to lose to our Premier League rivals, but their striker had one of those days, and our strikers didn't. However, we were decently ahead, and could afford a loss here but of course, widening the gap between us and them would've been nice. At the end of the day though, not a result worth getting hung up over.

Dal-Joo didn't get the dream return to Wycombe he would have wanted as he went off with an injury after just 12 minutes. In many ways, that was saddening, it would have been nice to play against our former star. Like the Spurs game, we were unfortunate not to win this game, 12 shots to their 5, but ultimately, we couldn't put one away. The strikers must improve.

We capped off an iffy month on a good note, securing our place in the League cup final as we won in a 5 goal thriller over Everton to put us through 7-3 up on aggregate. We were utterly dominant, and thoroughly deserved the win, as Otsuki from a quiet 2 games beforehand, securing the equalizer and the winner.

Still tight

Spurs now lie dangerously close behind us, just the 1 point, but we have a crucial game in hand which may prove handy. We stumbled a little bit this month, and need to take a long hard look at ourselves before we continue stumbling into February. Hopefully a League Cup win will get the lads going.

Player of the Month

It's that man again, our Ghanian marquee summer signing working fantastically on that left wing. Masawudu justifying his 44 million pound signing with the highest average rating in the squad at 7.94. He's scoring plenty of goals, and generally helping the team so much, a quality player. 44 million is looking like a steal.

Flop of the Lot

This lad stayed out of the bad books for a long time this year but it's finally his turn up. He's been consistent recently but his form has just slipped a tad of late, still showing signs of youth. Unfortunately, for a lad who has improved in general it's Zoggers.

Tough battles

Some big ones coming up in February, including the huge first leg against Tenerife in the Champions League. We have to put a few goals past these oppositions and prove ourselves to be worthy of winning these league by putting a gap between us and our rivals.

Giggsy's getting on a bit...

This made me chuckle a little bit, in 2172 Giggsy is still getting around offering his views on the current United team. Maybe he took a gamble on cryogenics and it's paid off, who knows?

Anyway, until next time, all comments will be reciprocated and thanks for reading,

Tah, Alex
A pretty good month I would say! Never going to be easy :) Also some good results in the cup competitions!

Biggest congrats has to go to Giggs for somehow being alive?? Must have been all that yoga he did as a player
i'd be interested to see Giggs' profile! haha

Good month there too bro, keep it up
BeanyUnited: If anyone knows how to live it's Giggsy

Infrared: I'm sure I can sort that at some point, I may go round some noteworthy characters and show off how they've done

Long slog

Okay, I did a lot of games in this run, you know when you're very into it and end up playing far too many games? Yeah that happened. We rolled all the way through February and into the beginning of March in a great little stint for the club. I'm really enjoying using this team at the moment, they work like clockwork, Lawson and Masawudu leading the team from either wing.

Last minute lapses

We started off well, fielding a slightly rotated side in the FA cup, it took a late little comeback for us to get a winner though. Like I said, the team was weakened, but you can't argue with the spirit of the side to not lie down and take the loss. Therefore, we go on, thanks to a much improved Zoggers and an always good Masawudu.

Arsenal lie far too far down the league for modern day Gunners liking, but we barely squeezed past them, with Krasniqi bagging one in the 80th minute to get us the 3 points. It was a scrappy affair though, we had decent possession (57% to 43%) but couldn't dominate in chances as a result, nonetheless, we got the win.

Krasniqi had another notable game against Everton as we performed with clinical ability, even Brown grabbed a goal late on. It was an all round decent result, the kind you expect of Premier League winners over mid table minnows. However, they did have chances, a missed penalty and the goal making the game look a lot tighter.

Now you see the title of the score section come into play as a late lapse in concentration meant we went from breezing to 3 points to a measly 1. Despite a decent performance, dominance in shots and in possession, we couldn't hold on as Sheffield United stole a 2-2 draw.

Only 3 days later and we witness the same old story, we grabbed the opener from a re-worked penalty miss, Otsuki the one who redeemed himself after a poor spot kick. However, we couldn't hold on, and most crucially, we lost Krasniqi to injury too meaning our January signing Scully had to step up, we'll see how that goes.

An easy baptism for Scully as he drove home a 9.0 rating in his first start for the club, getting 2 assists to take us to an easy 3-0 win. Masawudu had a great game as usual, but we could have had more, we had 26 shots, so to only score 3 is not great. It was nice to see our star Gassman grab a rare goal for himself.

At 19 years old, our man Scully truly turned up in the biggest fixture he'll have ever played in, setting up Otsuki's equalizer and having a general stormer, getting another 9.0 rating. The Irishman has hit the ground running, setting up a valuable away goal against Tenerife, giving us a huge chance.

Now into March, the team set about smashing a recent nemesis and sinking former Wycombe player Diallo's ship. We played them off the park, Scully doing another good job, but plaudits go to Otsuki for a hard earned hat-trick, the lads doing a great job up top, fighting our wingers for star spot in this team, and not doing bad at it.

League Cup Final

It's that time again! We've fought our way into a final versus our Premier League enemies Spurs, they've beaten us twice in the league this season, so I wasn't expecting fireworks. We were still missing Krasniqi so Otsuki started in CAM, this wasn't the right game for Scully. Fortunately, Otsuki did a damn good job.

Boom! Howzat for drama! We thought we'd thrown it away after Bicer equalized in the 81st minute, but our troops rallied, first game a goal from our talisman Otsuki, before Masawudu wrapped things up superbly to make things comfy. Plaudits 100% go to Otsuki, stepping into an unfamiliar role and making it his own, bagging 2 and playing so well, an 8.6 and MOTM. Thankyou very much Spurs, we'll have the league off you next.

Forest join the race?

It would appear the Premier League has officially opened up to a 3 horse race as Forest took advantage of both Spurs' and our slip-ups to wiggle their way back into the picture. Their squad is top, they have clinical strikers, expect this to go to the wire with at least one of these surrounding teams. It's close, too close to call, but we hold onto 1st.

Player of the Month

Okay, I've raved about this lad quite a lot this month, Scully has taken to Wycombe like a fish to water and looks very much at home. He looks like the perfect understudy to Krasniqi and may be his eventual successor, definitely with great performances like the ones he produced this month.

Flop of the Lot

This lad started in 4 fixtures this month, but only scored in 1, not a very good conversion rate when you're playing for a top top team, and have been good enough to bag 4 maybe more in that time. It's not been great for Ibrahim, maybe it's due to Sainrimat going out, meaning no competition for a short while. He'll be back next year, so you better kick on Ibrahim if you want that testimonial I want to give you.

Coming up in March!

Some big games to come, both Manchester clubs who aren't walk overs at all, most definitely Man City, who have some world class players and are under performing in the league. Plymouth will be another fun one, seeing our lad Diallo again, and of course, we get to see whether our Champions League run continues.

Anyway, until next time, all comments will be reciprocated and thanks for reading,

Tah, Alex
Your fine form continues! Win your game in hand and I would go as far as to say the league is truly yours to lose then, good luck mate :)
Looks like a really exciting finish to the season coming up? That game in hand on Forest could come in handy!
BeanyUnited: Yeah man, Spurs n Forest will be eating my dust in no time!

Jack: Exciting is the word, hoping we can win plenty :)
Nice win in the League cup, hopefully the first trophy of many this season

Eating my dust

A big month for us, taking on some huge games, and most importantly, getting some huge results to go with them. Our work ethic was huge as we drive forward through plenty of fixtures. Our Champions League future still needs to be determined. I write this as I watch France v Portugal, so this may take a while and may not be proofread if this game meets the hype.

Unbeaten

A solid start to the month as we swept Manchester United aside, they made the last 10 minutes very squeaky as Martina scored in the 79th minute, a lad who always seems to score against me. However, despite the goal, Masawudu's performance and 2 goals were enough to see us through.

The other side of Manchester proved to be much tougher competition for us as we only managed to steal a 1-1 draw late on, our main man Masawudu saving us late on, we'll take a point here. As I said in the last update, Man City are under performing, and have a very good side, so a draw will definitely do.

Another win against Plymouth as we showed Diallo what he's missing, I thought I'd regret selling him to an English team but currently we're showing enough to rise above them when we face them. Gassman was quality for us in this one, warranting his 30 million pound price tag once again.

We squeezed through unconvincingly against Tenerife to make it to the Champions League quarter finals where we'll face OGC Nice, one of the worlds greatest. This performance isn't too convincing though, we deserved more from this game however, 20 shots to 7, and Lawson was massively responsible for this, conducting the team, only poor finishing cost us an easy victory. On penalties, we were great, only missing 1 that we had to take, but the hero was Essig, saving 2 and watching 1 go past the post, he was the difference in the penalty shootout.

Zoggers was the hero of this one, bagging us 2 from centre back to prove his meteoric rise from last seasons performances, showing that my faith in him was worth it. We dominated this one though, plenty of shots, but no striker on the score sheet once again, Otsuki only getting 2 so far this month, instead, our centre back had to do the job.

A slightly rotated side managed to get a 2-0 victory over Preston which were without Sainrimat and looked very restricted as a result, our lad on loan has been Preston's shining light in the second half of the season, so without him, they struggled. Zoundi attempted to fight Lawson for first team placement as he scored and assisted in this game, whilst Ibrahim managed to get a goal from strike too.

The Title is nigh

7 points clear and looking to be breezing, similar to last year, our competitors have faltered whilst we've stayed relatively strong, pulling away from Forest and Spurs, looking set to lift the Premier League. Of course, we can't get complacent, we still have to win a few here and there, but we're closing in on our 2nd title.

Player of the Month

Most improved award would most definitely go to this guy to be honest, Zoggers has been excellent this year bar a few hiccups, and has managed to hold off Ruiz for a long time. However, this month he's been great, massively reducing the threat of some of the best strike forces in the country. He's also scored twice this month too, in one game, not bad going for a centre back, maybe he'll become renowned for scoring occasionally in the future.

Flop of the Lot

He's been a flop compared to his normal self, normally the most instrumental players on the whole pitch, he's been relatively quiet this month. I am of course referring to Krasniqi who hasn't even score this month, shocking by the Albanian's standards.

Oh it's a biggie

Here we go, a huge run in, still in with a shout for the FA Cup, the Champions League and the Premier League, April will be a big month for us as we look to potentially wrap up the league whilst progressing in the cups. Beating Nice will be a tall order, but on our day we can beat anyway, we shall just have to see.

Anyway, until then, thanks for reading, all comments will be reciprocated,

Thanks, Alex
Can't wrap my head around Barnsley in the semi-finals and Nice in the quarters hahah! Well done on the imminent league title, lets turn that into a treble eh! :)

A bipolar month

April was an emotional roller coaster for us as Wycombe fans witnessed the most up and down month they've probably ever seen. Things were always going to be tough for us as we drew close to the end of the season, being in so many competitions, you'll have to see how we do...

Not long to go

A solid start to the league as we swept Crystal Palace away from home, Masawudu grabbed the opener very early on, only for it to be equalized almost immediately. However, Lawson and a rare goal from Gassman pushed us through to a comfortable 3-1 win.

A poor beginning to the Quarter final stage of the Champions League for us as we lost to Nice due to a goal from their lead striker Viator. We were dominated unfortunately, never really in the game, and to be honest, 1-0 was the best result we could have hoped for after they sustained their pressure throughout the whole game. We will have to come back in the second leg.

A much rotated side grabbed us a 1-0 victory over Barnsley, it was a very boring game to be honest, 8 shots to 2, but we managed to pull out the win with a weaker team. Scully did the work for us as he so often has since his signing, proving he's definitely got what it takes to play for us for a long time.

We crashed out of the Champions League despite a great performance against Nice in the second leg, dominating possession and shots, but couldn't make them count. Really disappointing to be honest, on our day we could have beaten Nice in both legs but instead they beat us, poor, we'll have to wait until next year for a European win.

A poor 1-1 draw against Fulham as we draw closer to winning the league, a win here would have done it for us, but it wasn't meant to be. We didn't perform to be honest, probably in recoil from that defeat to Nice in the Champions League. However, Smith ruined our dreams of winning the league this week, but maybe next week ey...

A convincing win to win us the league, some fantastic goals in this one as we finally claimed top spot in front of our own adoring fans by battering West Ham. Otsuki bagged a fantastic little chip to open the scoring for us early on, I really did love watching this goal back, cracking effort.

But then, as if to top Otsuki's goal, Gassman went and scored what in my opinion is our goal of the season with a cracking half volley from some distance following a clearance, a true showcase of his technical ability.

We squeezed through to the final of the FA cup against a struggling Barnsley side with a decent 3-1 win. Masawudu and Krasniqi bagged goals to get us a tie against Man City in the final. Unfortunately we didn't dominate as much as we should have, but I'll take the win.

Top, and staying there

We've officially won it, top of the league and theirs no stopping us. 8 points clear and only 2 games to go we have taken the title for the second year running from our rivals Spurs. On top of that, our goal difference is far superior to any other teams at 50 showing the goal scoring initiative and defensive quality we have as a team.

Player of the Month

Gassman has to be the player of the month, he scored an absolute wonder goal against West Ham, as well as great performances throughout the month. He's a top player and occasionally manages to get himself a captaincy from time to time, a real leader for the team considering he only came in a few years ago.

Flop of the Lot

He gave away the penalty which probably put the Nice game beyond us unfortunately, it's not really been Griffin's month. He is normally outstanding, no denying that, but this month he hasn't been his best especially when compared to his previous form this season.

The season finale

3 games to go to decide how successful this year will be, an FA cup win would go very nicely with our league cup triumphs and league win. However, the Champions League will always be a sore spot for this year, but hopefully, a win in the FA Cup will boost us going into next year. Let's see how this going.

Anyway, until then, thanks for reading, all comments will be reciprocated,

Thanks, Alex
