61’ SALZBURG LEVEL! It is Prevljak who reacts quickest after freekick specialist Junuzovic hits the bar, it bounced away from goal, but the Bosnian was there to smash it home and with 30 minutes left they have a real chance.

The time has just passed 70’ minutes, so there is still time for some late drama here…
76’ 2-1 Salzburg! They just need 1 more to send Madrid out who are now hanging on for a semi-final place. What a performance in this second half by Salzburg and it’s a brace for Prevljak. It didn’t look like there was room to get a shot off, but he just put his foot through it, and it found the bottom right corner and Ramos is now barking orders at his team, they should have got tighter to him.
In the other game tonight, Liverpool are
2-0 up against Atlético Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano where they won their 6th European Cup over a year ago. That one is
5-2 on aggregate to Liverpool, so Klopp will be overseeing a 3rd consecutive semi-final. I think the only thing to cheer about for Atlético fans is their neighbours may also be bowing out at the same stage…
We are into the final few minutes here and Madrid have the ball near Salzburg’s corner flag, they aren’t going to risk giving it away. It’s deafening here tonight; their performance may not be enough.
FT Salzburg 2-1 Real Madrid (
4-5 aggregate)
There it is! Real Madrid have once again found their way through without playing particularly well. Zidane will have a lot to ponder before the next opponent, but we have to talk about how good Salzburg were, they pushed the record champions all the way tonight.
Marcel Schmid – We did everything we could tonight to make the dream a reality, but they just had enough. I think we showed here how far this team has come this season to be competing at this level shows the ambition of the players and a word on the support tonight it was immense. I hope we did everyone who couldn’t make it proud tonight and we will use this to our advantage in the future.
Zinedine Zidane – Well that was an interesting match ;). We are very happy to have made it through and be a step closer to the final but what a performance by Salzburg tonight. Their counter-press was difficult for us to handle and they didn’t give us many openings to exploit, I wish them well for the future. Well Played!
