I am sorry to announce that updates are temporarily suspended as I have major events going on that mean I lack time to play Football Manager 2013 at this time. Normal Service will resume when these events are done.
End of 2016 Season Update

The 2016 Season is over and it was certainly a good one, we came 6th in the end which I feel is very good for our first season in Superettan. It was a rollercoaster ride at times but we came through in the end. So now we look back at September and October. We earned 350,000 krona in sponsorship and were the league's overachieving team.

I have also signed another 1 year contract with the club meaning I will still be here in 2017.

September started with a home game against Vasby United which we unfortunately lost 1-0, I was not too pleased at this result as I had been confident of getting a win in this match but on a more positive note it was our goalkeeper Fredrik Landen's 125th game for Torns.

After the Vasby United game we had an away game against Skovde, Skovde have been one of our greatest opponents over the last 3 years and somewhat of a bogey team for us but I was very pleased when we came out of it 2-1 victors thanks to both goals being scored by Guri Baqaj.

Folllowing this game we lost 2-0 away to Angelholm and drew 1-1 at home to Trollhattan. This concluded September and following this one of our players was in the team of the month for Superettan in the position of DR.

With October came our last 2 league games, the first of these was away to GIF Sundsvall who we defeated 2-1, this was very pleasing and featured goals from Ville Kolehmainen and Simon Gustafson. I do wish Kolehmainen scored more goals but he is a very good player so I do not mind too much.

Our last game of the season was at home to IFK Norrkoping which we won 1-0 thanks to Simon Gustafson scoring in the 38th minute although Norrkoping did have a large amount of chances to draw level or go on to win the match.

We now look forward to 2017 and our 2nd season in Superettan though we only have a 4 week pre-season due to the Svenska Cupen Group Stage.

Here is the 2017 Pre-Season Update.

As I stated at the end of the 2016 End of Season update our pre-season would only be four weeks long to due to commitments in the Svenska Cupen Group Stage which I look forward to. We are also upgrading our youth facilities at the cost of 3,500,000 krona as well as now being linked to 6th tier FBK Balkan.

Our first game of the 2017 Pre-Season was away to Malmo FF whom we have faced in friendlies many times since I took charge, we came out of this one with an incredibly pleasing 1-1 draw thanks to a 27th minute goal scored by Guri Baqaj.

We then travelled to Olympia to play Helsingborgs IF, this was a very close match but Helsingborgs won it in the 78th minute, I was not at all disappointed as I had not expected a victory and thought the side played very well against such respectable opposition.

Following these matches we had another away fixture, this time against Halmstad and we came out of it with a satisfying 0-0 draw though the match was quite uneventful in truth and I look back on it thinking we could have won it.

We do have another friendly scheduled away to our feeder team FBK Balkan but this will take place between our last Svenska Cupen Group Stage match and our first Superettan game of 2017.

For now I leave you with some pictures.

It is finally time for the Svenska Cupen Group Stage Update.

It was finally time to get underway with the Svenska Cupen Group Stage which I had been looking forward to since the end of the 2016 Season back in October, I knew it would be a tough task for us to reach the Quarter Finals as we had Allsvenskan Runners Up Orebro and fellow Superettan side BK Hacken in our group.

The first of the three games we would have in the Group Stage was at home to Orebro SK, I was hoping to get a draw out of this match to greatly increase our chances of advancing to the Quarter Finals as this could only be done by winning the group. Unfortunately we lost 1-0 due to a goal scored by Orebro within the first 5 minutes of the match. This left us bottom of our group as even though they had lost, 4th Tier side Varbergs BoIS had scored more goals than us in their fixture with BK Hacken.

Following the Orebro result we needed to win our last two games of the round and hope other results went our way for us to win the group and be one of the last 8 clubs in the tournament, the first of these last two games was a trip to 4th tier side Varbergs BoIS which we had to win and I felt confident of getting the needed victory. We barely beat them with the result being 3-2 to us thanks to goals from Pontus Overgaard, Saman Ghoddos and Guri Baqaj.

Due to the way the group had played out so far we needed to beat BK Hacken and hope that Varbergs BoIS achieved the impossible by defeating Orebro, unfortunately things did not turn out this way as we were very disappointing against Hacken, resulting in an easy defeat and combined with Orebro also easily defeating Varbergs BoIS meant we were eliminated from the competition having come 3rd in our group.

We have a friendly away to our 6th Tier feeder team FBK Balkan before the start of our 2017 Superettan campaign against IFK Norrkoping.

I apologise for the lack of a song or pictures to accompany this update but I have no appropriate songs or good pictures to go with this one.
Overgaard keeps up the good performances I see. Don't worry about the Svenska Cupen. Maybe next year..

Unlucky in the cup. Do me a favour and postpone this story until I'm back after the New Year, will you? ;)
Time for the "Post Svenska Cupen" March and April 2017 Update.

Now that we have covered the Group Stage of the Svenska Cupen we can look at how the rest of March and April went for us.

Our only remaining match in March was a friendly away to 6th tier feeder team FBK Balkan, the result of this fixture was very embarrassing for us as we were beaten 1-0 due to a penalty which one of our defenders unfortunately gave away in the first 20 minutes. We had many chances but failed to capitalise on them. Hopefully things will turn out in our favor against them in 2018.

We then moved on to April which brought with it our first five games of the league campaign, the first of these was a visit to IFK Norrkoping, I knew this would be a tough match as Norrkoping are always tough opposition but unfortunately for us we were comfortably beaten 3-1.

Following this we were at home to GIF Sundsvall who are a club I now usually feel confident of defating following our results against them in 2016. I was very pleased after this game as we defeated them by three goals to one after going 1-0 down in the first minute. Our scorers were Alexander Sakac and Saman Ghoddos. We then visited recently relegated Trelleborgs whom I was not expecting any kind of result against but we surprisingly beat them 2-1 thanks to goals from Alexander Sakac and Guri Baqaj.

Our last two games of April were home ties with BK Forward and recently relegated Syrianska, I was pretty sure we could defeat Forward but once again did not expect any kind of a result against Syrianska. As I expected we comfortably beat BK Forward 3-1 thanks to goals from Pontus Overgaard and Alexander Sakac. Following this came the unexpected part as we came back from 1-0 down to defeat Syrianska by two goals to one with Pontus Overgaard scoring both goals for us and henceforth sending us to the top of the table.

I do not leave you with pictures this time as irl it is Christmas Day, so here is a Christmas Song.

The GIF Sundsvall, BK Forward and the Syrianska games were awesome. Hope it's a sign of better things to come.

PS. It will be easy (for me at least) if you will do some kind of result summary. Like my screenshot from the game or something. Makes it easier to follow ;)
Now we take a look back at how May and June 2017 went for us.

Going into May I had won the April Manager of The Month award and we were top of Superettan with 12 points from 5 games and our first opponents of the month would be Karlslund at Tornvallen, unfortunately we lost this game 2-1 which was quite disappointing and dropped us down to 4th in the league but I was confident that we could move back up into the promotion spots.

After the Karlslund loss we travelled to Tunavallen for a game with 9th placed Eskilstuna City which I was quite confident of winning and hence moving back into the promotion spots, it was a much tougher game than I expected but we narrowly won 1-0 thanks to a goal from midfielder Alexander Sakac in the 37th minute to move us back up to 2nd in the league. Following this we hosted league leaders Jonkopings Sodra in what was definitely going to be a very tough match for us, we fought hard but eventually came out of it having lost by two goals to one. I was not too disappointed as I was not expecting victory in this one.

We then had our last game of May at home to mid-table BK Hacken who are a team I have a lot of respect for and always look forward to facing, it was a back and forth match but it ended up finishing 0-0, not the ideal result but one that left us 4th in the league once again.

June started with a visit to last placed Falkenberg FF who have become somewhat of a bogey team for us since we first faced them last season, we were not favourites for this one having been given odds of 11-5 while Falkenberg were at Evens, I was incredibly disappointed following this match as we lost 1-0 sending us down to 6th in Superettan heading into our home game with Skovde.

We were heading into the Skovde game as narrow favourites knowing that if we won the match we could move back into the top 3 in Superettan, like most of our matches we fought very hard but like usual Skovde were just that bit better than us and came out as victors by one goal to nil which moved us down to seventh in the table. Following this we had an away game with recently relegated Kalmar FF whom we had never faced before, If I remember rightly we went into this one playing a 4-5-1 Counter with Pontus Overgaard as the lone Striker for us.

We ended up coming out of that one with a very respectable 0-0 draw but unfortunately moved down to 8th in the league heading into our last game of the month against Trollhattan, as well as now being 8th in the league we were also 5 games without a win which was something I was really hoping would end as of the Trollhattan match, unfortunately I was embarrassed by the team as we lost that one 3-1, a result made even more painful by the fact that the match was a home game for us.

Now we look towards July and August but until then here are some pictures.
