March: Untouchable

Bayern Munich have now made themselves virtually untouchable at the top of the Bundesliga following a 1-0 win over title challengers Dortmund. A win over Der BVB this close to the end of the season has only increased their chances of securing the title and with a rather easy list of remaining fixtures, it will be horrible on Bayern's part if they mess this up. With their wins over Real Madrid and Hannover, Bayern Munich are also now in the Champions League Quarter Finals as well as the DFB Pokal Final.

FC Bayern Munich Player of the Month

Again, it is the wonderful Ademilson who struck the crucial goal against Borussia Dortmund, the Ademilson that struck against Hannover to send Bayern into the Final of the DFB Pokal. He has taken his tally to 31 goals in 27 appearances in the Bundesliga, as well as 37 goals in 39 appearances in all competitions.

Player Worthy of a Mention

Since returning from the African Cup of Nations, Siyanda Xulu has been as excellent as ever and deserves a mention with his usual fantastic defending prowess. His return will be a vital boost for Bayern's title bid.
Great month and a great update! Ademilson is a beast wow I dont think I have seen him ever do this well! Win against Dortmund was vital nice work Glenny boy ;)

Finishing the Job

It is left to David Beckham's Bayern Munich squad to finish the job against Manchester City tomorrow, with Die Bayern winning the first leg 2-0 at their home ground, the Allianz Arena.

Beckham's boys touched down in Manchester yesterday.

In the first leg, Beckham cleverly started every Englishmen in his squad, with players like Will Hughes and Ryan Garland being more versed in Manchester City's style of football. Martin Legendre, who has spent a short period of time in England, also started the game against City ahead of Stefan Radu and needless to say, every English-based player performed well against the Citizens, with Garland nicking the Man of the Match award.

Ademilson scored the first goal, while Jack Grealish also manage to score in his first match since suffering a broken foot back in December.

Beckham rallied his team in the pre-match press conference before the two sides clashed.

"I want the lads to finish the job," he said. "And I believe they can."

He added, "Since 2014, it has been tough for this team but I firmly believe that we have returned to the glory years. We have players like Ademilson and Siyanda (Xulu). They are Champions League Final quality and I expect them to be in the Champions League Final since they are of such quality.

"I want them to finish the job."
You can do it! 2-0 should be comfortable enough, but away it might be hard to get that same result. Maybe just shut up shop.
Go defensive next game
Toon & JL: Thanks for the comments! Unfortunately I'm not really the defensive type :P

Back to Madrid

Bayern Munich have finished the job, playing Manchester City to a 2-2 draw at the Etihad Stadium to win their Champions League Quarter Finals 4-2 on aggregate.

Edin Dzeko scored in the 48th minute, reigniting hope within City fans, but superb goals from Jesus Blanco and Toni Kroos pushed Bayern through to the Semi Finals.

And in the Semi Finals, Bayern will be travelling back to Madrid - with Atletico Madrid having beat FC Porto to advance to the Semi Finals as well.

The Bavarian giants have been drawn against Atletico for the Semis and this will be their second time facing a side in Madrid this season after they narrowly beat Real Madrid 4-3 on aggregate in the First Knockout Round.

"We are in this game to win trophies and every one in the squad is excited that we are so close," Beckham told journalists and the English press in the post-match press conference.

"Atletico Madrid are the only obstacle standing between us and the Champions League Final. Every single player in the team will be pumped.

"Of course, Atletico will be very motivated too, so it is going to be a close match and one I am looking forward to."
