Finishing the Job
It is left to
David Beckham's Bayern Munich squad to finish the job against Manchester City tomorrow, with Die Bayern winning the first leg 2-0 at their home ground, the Allianz Arena.
Beckham's boys touched down in Manchester yesterday.
In the first leg, Beckham cleverly started every Englishmen in his squad, with players like
Will Hughes and
Ryan Garland being more versed in Manchester City's style of football.
Martin Legendre, who has spent a short period of time in England, also started the game against City ahead of
Stefan Radu and needless to say, every English-based player performed well against the Citizens, with Garland nicking the Man of the Match award.
Ademilson scored the first goal, while
Jack Grealish also manage to score in his first match since suffering a broken foot back in December.
Beckham rallied his team in the pre-match press conference before the two sides clashed.
"I want the lads to finish the job," he said. "And I believe they can."
He added, "Since 2014, it has been tough for this team but I firmly believe that we have returned to the glory years. We have players like Ademilson and Siyanda (Xulu). They are Champions League Final quality and I expect them to be in the Champions League Final since they are of such quality.
"I want them to finish the job."
