@CFCLynch, thanks mate but I honestly don't see this story being one of the best :)

Season Eight: August Update

We finally start what looks like a very promising season. With a lot of hope and great confidence, we look to make a big improvement on last season's performance. Can we do the impossible and even challenge for promotion?

Results

From a first glance, this month went very well. We started our season with a fantastic 3-2 win away to Sheffield Wednesday, with Euan Smith firing in two goals. We then beat Mansfield in the League Cup, before drawing 0-0 at home to Burnley. We then beat Blackburn and Charlton before losing to Liverpool at Anfield in the League Cup. We finished the month with a draw away against Bournemouth. After seven games, we won four, drew two and lost just one. A very good month for us.

Player of the Month

Isaiah Osbourne is my player of the month. The tenacious midfielder has wowed fans at the Vauxhall Stadium with some terrific performances. He has shown great commitment and great courage to make the tackles in midfield to win us games. He has been a wonderful signing and I hope he will continue on in the same vein of form.

NPower Championship

Our amazing start to the campaign sees us in 5th place, with 11 points and a Goal Difference of +4. League leaders QPR are well ahead on 15 points, while we are just a point behind 2nd and 3rd placed Everton and Barnsley. Hopefully we can stay in this amazing position and battle for promotion to the Premier League.

September Fixtures

We have some tricky games next month, especially away to Swansea. We have six games in total and hopefully we can pick enough points to stay in a healthy position.

I am really loving this story, keep up the great work.

I have now been inspired to start my own LLM story. I was just wondering what leagues and nations did you load when you started? Apologies if this question has already been asked before.

Go on the motormen!!

@Glenn T, still early days so I'll say we aim for 2nd place for now :P

@BeanyUnited, the only problem is that there is no place called Vauxhall, the place is called Ellesmere Port :P

@matt_gfc, thanks mate :) I loaded up all the English, Scottish, Welsh, Northern Irish, Irish, Spanish, Italian and German leagues :)

Obi Anoruo: My Time Is Up

Obi Anoruo: "We've been playing fantastically well so far this season and we are in a very strong position in the league now. To be in the play-off spots to get in to the Premier League is wonderful and seven years ago, I never would have thought it would be possible. Credit has to go to Paul Hewson who's magic has gotten us this far and to keep us progressing every season.

Although for me, my time here at Vauxhall Motors is coming to an end. We have been promoted four times now and I've struggled to adapt to the most recent step in quality. We have some top strikers at this club and I haven't been able to win the battle for a starting spot in the team. I think that if I don't break in to the team this season, I'll be looking to move to a different club.

Of course I want to be at Vauxhall when the club gets promoted to the Premier League, but I want to be playing football regularly. I've enjoyed my time here so much and I love the club, but I want to be playing games. I'm proud to have the most league appearances and league goals for the club, and I hope the fans will remember that for a long time (285 apps, 141 goals). It has been an honour to play for Vauxhall and if I don't play for Vauxhall next season, they will always be in my heart."

No! Not Obi! :(
You'll never leave Anoruo! NEVAAAAAARRRR! ;)
@Justice

Thanks for the reply to my earlier question. What database size did you use? Also did you load players from any other nations?

I understand Obi wanting to leave, however it does seem a shame to let him go. It would of been nice to have him play at least 1 game in the premier league. Not many people can say they have had a player that have played and scored in every division.
@Glenn T + @Rablador, I was as shocked as you guys were when he told me he wanted a move away but I understand his decision. Although him leaving and Lita retiring at the end of this season leaves Smith as our one and only striker. This means we will need to buy two new strikers but I also want them to be good strikers too so promotion to the Prem is needed for the money to sign quality :)

@matt_gfc, I used a medium database and just loaded the players from the leagues I had. I'd like to keep Obi but the thing is, I'd rather have quality players in the team rather than a club legend. When he retires, I'll bring him back as a coach but for now, there's no place for him at Vauxhall besides in the record books :/
