Vauxhall Motors - The Path To Power
Bono in football? Follow his path to power!
I really like Domenec and Mancisido , all are good though so you could sign any of them really.
Really like the way you've spun this off into it's own section of the story. Creative Hope you nab those youth especially Manzella- who I think has the coolest name
@Rablador, I will tryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!
@The Special One, they are top youth stars, hopefully we can sign them
@Okikos, yeah its probably the most important part in the future of Vauxhall. Manzella is a quality player

The Development Saga: Stadium & Facilities
Paul Hewson
James Talbut
Kevin Johnson
JT: "Afternoon lads. Paul, has all gone well with transfers so far?"
PH: "I can't complain about them anyway. We did sign all of our first team targets and we managed to sign a fair amount of the youth targets, including an extra unplanned two. I think we did well on our part."
JT: "Okay, well done Paul. Now myself and Paul have been working all day and all night to plan out the future of our stadium and our facilities. First on our agenda is our stadium, Vauxhall Stadium. We did manage to get an expansion of over a thousand seats in to the stadium, but we do also have a new stadium sponsor who did buy the naming rights. Our stadium will now be called Barclays Stadium, a pretty catchy name if I must say so. The bank are paying a lot in sponsor money for us, which we cannot turn down."
KJ: "Myself and a friend of mine, who happens to be working in the development section of the local council, have talked extensively about possible future expansions to the Vau- excuse me, Barclays Stadium, and he has told me that it is a no-go. If we want a bigger stadium, we will need to look at building a new stadium in a different site. He told me that the current council would not be in favour of a stadium which used to be so small become something much bigger than planned, and they have good reasoning. They believe the structure would be unstable, due to not having the correct subterranean structure. It would be a safety risk and a hazard."
JT: "Yes, that is quite unfortunate but it is necessary. Anyway, let's move on to our training facilities for both the senior team and youth team. They are both currently being upgraded, which is a good sign for the future of this club. If we keep steadily investing in to our training facilities, we will reap the rewards. The upgraded facilities will not only aid the development of the players, but attract even more players to the club."
KJ: "Moving on towards the youth, etc. I have taken charge of our plans in this area and I have made some huge plans which are currently being put in to motion. Vauxhall Motors is building it's own youth academy, and it is going to be named the Hewson Academy, in your honour Paul. A lot of work has gone in to this, and we will continue developing it until it is a 'state of the art' facility. This academy will give our youth players the chance to develop in to top players, and this is all thanks to the work you have done for the club. Consider this a gift from the club to you."
PH: "Wow, I really don't know what to say. I'm delighted that you guys have decided to build an academy because it will really help the club to progress. For you guys to name the academy after me, its something which means a lot to me personally. I've been on world tours where every screaming fan has helped me feel at home on concerts, but you guys are building a home for me! I cannot thank you guys enough, and I am honoured!"
KJ: "We are not done there. I have also looked in to our youth recruitment network, and I decided that we should definitely invest more in to that area. It is still only at a rather basic level now, but we will invest more in to our recruitment when the club's profile improves and when we have finished with all the work done on our facilities. I think that for now, however, we can start attracting some more youngsters to the club, which is what we want/"
PH: "This is all fantastic work, guys! I saw the new Vauxhall Motors FC shop in Liverpool the other day and it was packed out with fans. You guys are doing a wonderful job to keep us progressing! With all the transfers and construction, etc, our expected balance for next summer can't be too high, can it?"
JT: "You'd be surprised! In fact, myself and Kevin ran the numbers and we are coming up with a predicted balance of £20M, not including any prize money received for that matter. Realistically, we are looking at maybe a £40M balance, unless we need to splash out on a transfer in January. I'm also very proud of the work done on the facilities and the stadium, and our future is bright. In terms of finances, the club will be rather wealthy in a few years and if needs be, we will invest in the building of a newer, bigger stadium. I think that's all for today. We will meet later on in the summer to discuss our progress on each area."

Very Important Announcement
Hey guys, I've an important announcement to make regarding my story. Summer is finally here and just like most of you, I will have plans to be keeping me busy for the duration of the season. This does mean quite a few things, one of them meaning that I will not be able to do a comprehensive story until summer is over. However, I do have a plan for this story for the summer which I will now show you:
- The Development Saga: I do have three more episodes left in the Development Saga, but they will have to wait until I finish the "Summer 2021" section.
- Summer 2021: This will be my last bit of comprehensive writing on this story for quite a while. This will involve new signings, new staff appointments, friendlies, and the usual interviews, etc.
- 2021 Onwards: I will do three updates per season; pre-season, August-December, January-May. The only season I will be doing two updates is the first one, due to doing the Summer 2021 section. These updates will include results, league tables, transfers and facility upgrades. Just the bare minimum will be posted.
Once the summer is over, I will be returning to my usual writing for each season, even if it is 50 years in to the future! A big thank you to every reader, you have made this story what it is. This is not the end, just a patch where it will be moving slowly in terms of updates, faster in terms of game play and progression. Thanks again to everybody, long live Vauxhall Motors!

Summer 2021: New Affiliation
James Talbut: "I am delighted to announce that Vauxhall Motors football club has a new club affiliation. When myself and Kevin Johnson, my director, were looking at potential clubs to have an affiliation with, we wanted an affiliation which would benefit our club and the other club the most. That club happens to be FC Inter Turku of Finland.
Their chairman, Matti Weckström, is a great man and is doing a great job. His club are now challenging for their third consecutive league title, and our comfortably ahead of the rest of their rivals. Finnish football is at the stage where it needs great prospects coming in there, even on loan, to make it a more attractive league. That is what we can offer. We can loan out players there to gain valuable first team football for a great team, and help the club and the league improve their reputation.
So that's what FC Inter gets out of this affiliation, but what do we get out of it? We get to loan our players out there for first team football for one. Another thing is that we will have a representative in Finland who will be able to help us have a greater knowledge of prospects in the Finnish and Scandinavian are. This is an important step for us to develop our current stars in the making, and developing the Finnish league."
