Middlesbrough manager Chris Kamara has announced the signings of two veterans of the game on free transfers. Australian winger Harry Kewell is poised to make his debut against Millwall but the other signing, Jari Litmanen from Finland, will be used more as a back up striker. Kamara admits that the players may be a little rusty following their long break from the game, but Kewell has no doubts that his fitness will not be a problem in the slightest, despite his old age. "Unbelievable! Get it? Ha! Obviously I was pleased to hear that Middlesbrough were interested in me, but now the move has come to fruition and it will be great to work with Jari Litmanen, he was one of the best in the business." Litmanen also stated his delight, but he was much calmer. "I have been out of football for a while and, I must admit, I was thinking of retiring but Middlesbrough came in with a fantastic offer I couldn't really refuse, but they are a good side and I will have to work hard to get into the team every week." The deals could certainly help Boro sell more tickets as Litmanen is regarded as a footballing legend by many and Kewell was a part of the Liverpool side that won the Champions League in 2005.
