Yes, that's what I'm planning to do ;)

The Captain: Ciaran Clark

Ciaran Clark has been appointed the new captain of Aston Villa by manager David Beckham, with Ron Vlaar being demoted to the role of vice-captain.

Ireland international Clark was appointed vice-captain when Beckham took charge of the club.

The 24-year-old has been an Aston Villa player all his life and finally made his breakthrough in the 2012-13 season, Beckham's first season in charge, when he made 36 appearances in the league and forged one of the nation's most sturdy defensive partnerships with Vlaar.

Even fans can see it - his leadership has surpassed Vlaar's.

That, is probably the reason for Clark's appointment and Vlaar's demotion.

Beckham has revealed that he has spoken to both Clark and Vlaar, on the official club website of Aston Villa.

"We've spoken to Ron and Ciaran and both have accepted the decision," the manager wrote. "It is impossible to deny that Ciaran is now one of our best players and his immense leadership has also played a deciding factor for his promotion. He has been connected to Aston Villa since 2000 and is the ideal captain for us."

Star striker Darren Bent was interviewed of the change in captaincy.

"Ron was a great captain, but Ciaran is going to be brilliant as well," said Bent. "He's the only one in the squad capable of being a captain, besides Ron. He shouts at everyone on the pitch, even the ones 10 years older than him, like a true captain. I'm mighty pleased he's been handed this opportunity."

Kolo's Return

Ivorian defender Kolo Toure has returned to Aston Villa on a free transfer.

The 33-year-old was on loan at Aston Villa last season from Manchester City, but has been released by his parent club upon the expiry of his contract.

Villa held talks over a free transfer but David Beckham declared an end to those, citing Toure's wage demands as a main reason.

However the former Arsenal man has now agreed a one-year contract with the Lions on just 10k per week.

Former Aston Villa favorite Nigel Spink has judged this as a "clever move" from Beckham.

"David waited for a month before going back for Kolo Toure," said Spink. "He wanted Toure to be desperate for a club, and as a result, accept low wages."
Could you ask him if he has any dietary pills? I'm starting to put on a bit of weight ;)

Frank Lampard: The Legend

Former Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has agreed a one-year contract with Aston Villa.

The 36-year-old joined Schalke and impressed for the Germans last season but has returned to England after just one season in the Bundesliga.

Lampard spent more than ten years, the majority of his playing career, at Chelsea and is regarded as a legend at Stamford Bridge for obvious reasons.

Despite already being in his late 30s, Lampard has proven he still has the skill, as shown when he shone in the Bundesliga with Schalke last season, scoring 3 and providing 9 assists.

"I am very happy to be here," said Lampard. "I know David personally and it'll be interesting having him as a manager than a teammate for once. The project he's trying to build here at Aston Villa is one I'm very keen in."

The former England international will earn wages of around 45,000 per week at Villa Park.

Great decision in signing Lampard, and his pre-season form was pretty good! Did I do well getting you to buy him? :P

Certainly! ;)

August: An Unfortunate Start

Not at all the best of starts for David Beckham and Aston Villa. Compared to their superb showing last season where they beat Manchester United 4-1, they were now instead crushed 4-0 by the very same Red Devils, as well as an embarrassing 1-0 loss to Southampton. However, they get through to the Third Round of the Capital One Cup, thumping Preston and former youth player Samir Carruthers 4-1.

Premier League
Aston Villa 2 - 2 Liverpool
Lampard
Bent

Man Utd 4 - 0 Aston Villa

Aston Villa 0 - 1 Southampton

Capital One Cup Second Round
Preston 1 - 4 Aston Villa
Delph
Nem
Destro

The results have not stopped the Villa youngsters from performing though. Will Hughes has won the Young Player of the Month award while 18-year-old John Romero has also impressed a lot in his debut month, coming 3rd.
not the best of results but its early yet and your still in the c.o.cup so all good :) keep going m8 :D great story update as usual :)
