Beckham: Staying at Villa

Aston Villa boss David Beckham has hit out at suggestions that he would be jumping ship to Blackburn or Southampton.

With the Southampton and Blackburn jobs both available, both clubs' chairmen are said to be very interested in appointing the England legend as manager.

Despite being a rookie in management Beckham has successfully steered Aston Villa clear of the relegation places in recent years.

The Villans finished 8th last season and are currently 13th in the table after 14 games.

"I am not interested in moving to Southampton or Blackburn," said Beckham in an interview with the Telegraph. "I am fully committed to my job at Aston Villa and have no time to entertain such nonsense.

"The only way Aston Villa is moving is the way up. Why would I want to move to another club at this time?

"Managing Villa has been a great experience for me and I am not ready to end that experience yet. Fergie managed Manchester United for more than 25 years.

"Of course, I am not saying I will be here for 25 years, but in football, never say never."
Good to see you're staying faithful :)

Then again, I'm enjoying jumping clubs on my story :P

excelent updates!
Ha! about hiring Kaka. I like a nice fond of him because I saw him play in the very season of São Paulo, hope he falls into the crowd thanks to Villa Park.

In the very season of Sao Paulo? You mean his first season there? That's interesting! :)
Nice to see Kaka going to Villa and even better to see that you are going to stick it out with Villa :) Things can only get better!

Legends Everywhere

Aston Villa have confirmed that recently retired Ryan Giggs has agreed to join the club as assistant manager.

Current assistant manager Ricky Sbragia has agreed to make way for the Manchester United legend by changing roles to being a first-team coach.

Giggs, a one-club man, chose to retire last season at the age of 40 after being released by his beloved Red Devils, instead of finding a new club.

He will now join former teammate David Beckham at Villa Park.

"This is an exciting time for Aston Villa," said Beckham. "Giggsy is a really good friend and we've known each other since we were just young lads at United. It's going to be great having him on board. He's an absolute legend and you've seen what he has done at United. His footballing career is amazing, even more so than mine was, and hopefully he will take that experience he has to our team."

Giggs also had time to say a few words, and the 64-capped Welshman spoke well of Aston Villa and former teammate but now colleague Beckham.

"I can't wait to be settled into my new role. It's indeed a huge change from being a player but I've had experience shouting at the lads in the United dressing room so this shouldn't be too hard of a challenge, yet I don't think it'll be too easy either.

"Becks has done a lot for Villa and I want to do the same as well."
Giggs+Becks back together :D
