2013-06-03 00:35#108013 Jamesg237 : I am quite disappointed that you didn't keep your Liverpool story going as it had one of the best few post start I've seen here for a while, no disrespect to other stories of course! Back to following this one I guess :)

:D Glad you'll continue to follow.

The Starlets Shine

The European Under-19 Championships have concluded, with France Under-19s beating the Portugal Under-19s team in the Final, to win the tournament for the third time in a row. Coincidentally, Bayern Munich had youngsters on both sides, with Rodrigo Borges turning out for the Portugal youths, while Jeandy Besnard made up part of the attacking force on the French side of the Final.

Ultimately, Besnard's nation bested Portugal with a 3-0 win.

However, it was Borges who eventually won the Best Player of the Tournament award.

The 18-year-old starlet is set to be thrown into the first team this season as second-choice right-back to Ryan Garland. He had a successful season on loan last year at Maritimo, back in his native Portugal, and David Beckham is ready for him to bring his talents into the Bayern Munich squad.

Besnard and fellow French compatriot Jean-Claude Marcelin are also set to be promoted from the youth teams into the senior team this season.
Almost to 100 pages! :D

Is your next big signing a real player or a regen?

DFL Super Cup 2019

Bayern Munich have enjoyed consecutive success in the DFL Super Cup as they beat Stuttgart 1-2 to win the trophy for the second year running.

Last year, Die Bayern beat Schalke 4-1 to get their hands on the Super Cup.

This year, the Bavarian giants were left short-handed, with players like Ademilson away on international duty.

However, although David Beckham had to play Will Hughes in a striking position, it paid off as Bayern won a narrow match with goals from Hughes and Ryan Garland, who was also operating in an unfamiliar position in right midfield instead of right-back.

Bayern lined up in a brand new 4-4-2 formation, contrary to the 4-3-2-1 they regularly employed last season, and Beckham will be hoping his tactical tinkering pays off.

And it did, for this match at least, with Jesus Blanco and Hughes working exceptionally together as partners in leading the line.

Bayern Munich will be looking to build on their success, and with the win of the DFL Super Cup, a second consecutive treble is very possible.

England Squad vs Mexico 2019

David Beckham has named his England squad for the upcoming friendly against Mexico.

Tottenham's Duncan Romeo could be in line to win his 2nd England cap, getting called up to the squad following his teammate Kyle Walker's injury in training. Besides Romeo, Liverpool's Steven Caulker also returns to the team. The emergence of young Bayern Munich defender Fedele Lenti has halted the progress of Caulker's England career, but the former Spurs man will now look to salvage what he can of it.

Chelsea's Tom Huddlestone also fails to retain his place in the squad, and so does Southampton's Jamie Barry, who has just completed a loan move to Wigan.

However, Stoke's Mason Bennett succeeds in just that, getting called up to the England squad again. Three Lions captain Wayne Rooney will not recover from his injury until an estimated two months later, and Bennett will have until then to convince Beckham he deserves a consistent place in the England squad.

Tom Ince, who has just completed a summer move from Newcastle to Chelsea, also returns to the squad. The move to Stamford Bridge could be quite a boost for the winger's international career.
