Edward D'Auria: Best feeling ever

Edward D'Auria: "I'm delighted to have signed for Vauxhall Motors. This is a big step for my career and this is the perfect opportunity for me to win trophies and to continue my development. Vauxhall has some fantastic coaches, including their inspirational manager Paul Hewson. He is a true legend of the game and it is an honour to be able to work under him. What he has done for the club is beyond fantastic and he deserves a lot of praise.

It was a very hard decision to leave Swansea City as it is the club I grew up supporting and the club that made me the player that I am now. I vow to return to Swansea one day but for now, Vauxhall Motors is the club for me to become the best I can and achieve the most I can. I have a lot to work on, and I believe that I can improve every aspect of my game to the best of my potential here at Vauxhall.

A lot of people have said that I'm too young to play a big part in a big team, or that I'm too inexperienced. When I signed my contract for Vauxhall Motors, Paul Hewson looked me in the eye and said this: 'Don't let anybody put you down because of your age. If you are good enough to start, you are old enough to start.' I think that shows how great a manager Hewson is why signing for Vauxhall gives me the best feeling ever."
Nice update :)
I'm glad he's happy, Vauxhall is where he belongs! :P

Europa League Build-Up

After winning the Capital One Cup last season, Vauxhall Motors had qualified for the Europa League. They were to be entered in the third round of qualifying, where they would have to go through two rounds of two-legged ties against other big clubs from around Europe. For the third round, we had been drawn against Austrian side Sportvereinigung Reid (SV Reid), where we would play the first leg away from home and the first leg at home.

Let's have a little look at the history of the Europa League since the save started. Since 2012-2013, there have been nine Europa League campaigns. Here is the list of winners:

2013: A.C. Milan
2014: Liverpool
2015: FC Bayern
2016: Spartak Moscow
2017: Zenit
2018: Liverpool
2019: R. Sociedad
2020: Inter
2021: Leverkusen

Liverpool is the only club to have one the competition more than once in this time, and has participated in four finals. So Liverpool has been the most successful club in the Europa League in recent years.

In terms of English clubs who will be competing in the Europa League this season, Tottenham and Chelsea are the other two clubs who qualified for the Europa League from the Premier League. Chelsea would be favourites to win the competition this year, while Spurs would be a good shout to make it far too.

Our main objective for this tournament is to reach the group stages. If we do get beyond the group stages, that would be fantastic, but it isn't too big a concern if we don't. This season in Europe is all about learning how the European game is played, and how to beat that. Once we get that experience from European football, we can start thinking of progressing further in future European tournaments.
